Photoshop :: "The Lion King" Style
Apr 27, 2009
I found a lot of tutorials about sketching in "The Lion King" style, but not about the colours. Now I'm working at it, so I'm looking for advices or links.
I want to ask you, how to create a picture in "The Lion King" style (when I just have a contour ofc).
I'm asking about how to get that type of lines, blending etc., for best in the Photoshop, but it can be also in an other program.

I have recorded an action to create a transparent image on a batch of photos. Next I ran the image processor using the File/Scripts/image processor. When running the action the error message occurs no matter how many ways I attempt to modify the action. Error: The object "Style "Shape Style"" is not currently available.
I then look in the action window to check and under the steps Make Fill Layer: Style: Shape, Style 1 appears but I can't delete it. This one error message makes it impossible for me to image process a batch of photos with a watermark on them.

okay so I bought a new mac it has OSX Lion, and I downloaded my Adobe Creative Suite CS4. The one hiccup and the only thing I used it for is edit gifs. When I go to file import - Video Frames to Layers is an option however I can not load a gif into the program. I tried * and everything is still greyed out.
I think it's missing a plugin. Adobe tells me to upgrade but you can't upgrade from CS4 to CS6 and the people at Mac tell me that even though my product isn't that old Adobe products can adapt fast enough. I want to know if there is a viable solution to what should be a simple problem or should I move on from Adobe because it is too expensive.

Ok, so I asked this awhile back when I was running Snow Leopard (10.6.x) on this late 2009 27" iMac. Someone mentioned that I should disable Open GL drawing to resolve it, and it worked, for awhile except for many of the features in CS5 you need Open GL enabled.
Maybe it's the graphics card, I don't know. But here is what my PS documents look like about 75% of the time. Sometimes it is worse than this and it makes working very, very hard:

My hard drive failed and a new hard drive has been installed on my iMac. I now have to reinstall Photoshop CS5. This is an upgrade version but I have the full version of CS3.
I can't get the installation disk to run from the DVD drive (I have installed other software from the drive today so this is not faulty). The disk is simply ejected. I am using OSX Lion. What am I doing wrong?

I'm on Mountain Lion for all my "non-critical" work, but I'm still running the latest Snow Leopard on my main desktop machine, running CS6 Design & Web Premium. I've avoided the switch primarily because of the auto-save feature that Apple placed into ML..is auto-save a problem, as Apple implements it, with CS6 and working on images?
In particular: 1. I work on very larger files, 4GB+ in size regularly, and I don't wan't the performance hits associated with constant saving, 2. I make changes to images, downsizing them, cropping, color corrections, etc. so that I can make jpg proofs for clients or myself. These are more "intermediary" images and not intended to be saved. I don't want to down sample an image, flatten it to create a jpg for proof and have it overwrite the original image layered, high res by mistake. Does this happen with Photoshop, or does Adobe avoid the auto-save that Apple uses?
I have all the latest iOS gadgets and it's becoming quite cumbersome managing multiple sets of iCloud info, etc. without being on ML. I'd like to make the switch, but at the cost of losing work, etc. And, does this also apply to all the other Adobe apps in CS6? I'm constantly making minor changes and edits that I usually "undo" out of and don't want saved.

I've a 15" MacBook Pro (Graphic Card is 6490M) and installed Mountain Lion and Photoshop CS6. When I Check my System Info in Photoshop, it show the OpenCL is unavailable just like this:
Then I open the Performance tab in Preferences, and see that I cannot enable OpenCL and the GPU Acceleration like this:
How come? Is the problem of Mountain Lion or Photoshop? How can I solve the problem?

I have mountain lion 10.8.4 , all work fine . I turn on the pc and graphics clock is at 324mhz and its temperature is low (40 - 42 ºc) , and use FinalCutX clocks graphics up and close program and down.
Use Photoshop CC trial clocks level up to 1.06 mhz and temperature rises ( normal ). But I close Photoshop and clocks not down to 324mhz , are maintained in 1,06mhz and not low. ( temp 54 - 57ºc ) more consumption more temperature.
I only happens with photoshop cc , ¿ is a fail of program ? I probe driver osx and driver nvidia 313.01.02f01 and no difference. The latest version of cuda is installed.

I ran my CS3 on my iMac (mid 2011 model) ans the Lion Op. sys. until last week when I upgraded the OS to mountain Lion. clicking on "Setup" on the installation DVD returns "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. contact Adobe Customer Support".
The only Adobe customer support I could find was chat and was told that CS3 being 3 versions old they could not work.
Q1. How to install CS3?
Q2. Is it too old for Mountain Lion? If so I will have to drop down to elements and will ask questions there.

I have just made the jump from OSX 10.6.8 to OSX 10.8.2. It's been so long that I've updated my iMac, that I forgot about any issues with PowerPC/Rosetta/etc. I did a clean install on my iMac, and brought it up to Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.2). After this, I installed Adobe CS3 onto Mountain Lion and had no problems with the installation and starting it up and using.
Having used CS3 Photoshop 10.0.1 for years with OSX 10.6.8, I knew that I had to run an update to take my virgin install from Photoshop 10.0.0 to the more current Photoshop 10.0.1 on the new OSX 10.8.2.
- The Adobe Updater does not detect any updates, so I am stuck with CS3 Photoshop 10.0.0, and am unable to update it. How can I accomplish an update?
I have tried several things, including manually downloading the "Adobe Photoshop 10.0.1 update for Adobe Photoshop CS3" from here: URL.....but Mountain Lion does not let me run the patch because of an alert that it isn't part the app.
I have also read extensively about using the Terminal to command-line the update... is this safe? point me to the exact set of terms to type in Terminal, as I'm uneasy about going into the OS with Terminal and coding things?
I have also read about setting the iMac's clock back to October 1, 2011 so that the Adobe Updater's receipt file doesn't think that it's expired? Is this something to try that is safe, and then change the clock back to present day?
how to take my virgin install of CS3 Photoshop 10.0.0 to CS3 Photoshop 10.0.1,This, of course, goes for all of the products in CS3 that I cannot update.

I've installed the latest CS6 update, but Photoshop is running really slow on quite a number of things. I'm happy with the overall performance: read/write, filters, selections, cropping, transform... they're all OK.
But whenever I go into the Curves dialogue, and want to add a point to the curve (or move an exisiting point), there's a 1-2 second "delay", so it's really hard to work fluently and without time-lag. Even if I have the "Preview" box unchecked in the Curves Dialogue.
I noticed the same is happening when I'm in the Gradients dialogue: Try and pick a color, in the color dialogue. 1-2 seconds later, the chosen colour finally gets selected.
The strange thing is: If I work with a Curve Adjustment Layer (instead of a "destructive" curve), Photoshop behaves nice & snappy...Would an update to OS 10.8 make things better? (I'd prefer to stick with Lion for now though)

As instructed by Adobe I'm working with the original CD to install this to my laptop. It goes up to installing Adobe Air, about half way through the whole installation and then stops. I have tried resetting the permissions- I'm installing in the root user account. This was what Adobe tech had me do to successfully install LightRoom 2 first and then an update. The update was more compatible apparently with Lion.

I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 a couple of days ago (jumped the Creative Cloud offer for existing customers) and ever since I've experienced several "hangs" when using the brush tool. In general I can work a few minutes with the brush before I notice that it isn't responding anymore, ie. it doesn't paint or erase or whatever it is I'm using it for. When this happens I can't access the gui anymore and all I have for cursor is the shape of the brush. After that the cursor will turn into that black and white spinning ring of dots and my only way to exit Photoshop is to force quit it.
This happens almost every time I use the brush. The OS X Lion installation is brand new, as is the Photoshop installation. No third party plugins installed (haven't had the time yet) and no third party fonts. I use a Wacom Intous 4 with latest drivers.
I've recorded a short video of what happens (13MB): URL....This is me working on a texture for a 3D model. I have a couple of layers and when the recording starts I am using a mask to blend two layers.
- At around 00:40 the brush stops working so I try to change tool by keyboard shortcut and then by clicking the tool palette.
- At around 01:05 the spinning ring appears and by then I know that I have to force quit.
- At around 01:50 I open up the Activity Monitor (although it can be tricky to read as the Photoshop document refuses to go to the background when the spinning ring appears)
- At around 02:24 the brush starts working again but I still have the spinning ring and I still can't access anything in the menus or palettes.
I spend on a single brush session but I'm not sure. What I mean is that if I start brushing away and simply pause once in a while or lift the pen off the board to start a new stroke it feels like the behaviour is less likely to appear. If I however use the brush for a longer period of time without lifting it or pausing, the spinning ring will most definitely appear. It's like Photoshop buffers all my brush movements and then somehow chokes. I could get the spinning beach ball in earlier versions as well but once Photoshop so to say had catched up I could continue working. Now it chokes and I have to force quit.

I'd like to know is there a way to 'print' PDF files from Photoshop in OS X since Adobe PDF printer is no longer available in this version of OS X? I'm new to OS X and find this quite annoying since it was really easy to get compressed PDF files doing it from Win XP. I read somewhere that the only way to get the same result is to save Postscript file from Photoshop and then convert it to PDF but obviously something's wrong in my settings. When for example I need to get B2 size wallpaper, I get only a piece of it in A4 size document. I tried everything (different paper sizes etc)
