Photoshop :: Saving JPEGS From Batch

Sep 4, 2006

I have been saving bulk images from Bridge using Batch process. What I would like to do is when the image is automatically saved as a JPEG. I want them to be saved as a (6) medium. However, they all seem to be saved as a (12) large. I then open each one and re-save.

Is there a automated process?

Photoshop :: Batch Saving Layers As Individual JPEGs?

Jan 4, 2012

I have assembled a wholel lot of scanned pages from my sketch pad into one psd file.  That file has guides which I use to register and align every page (each page is therefore its own layer).  Is there a way I can make an action and save off each individual layer as its own jpeg?  I set up an action but I don't know how to get photoshop to save it with a distinct namespace.  The first action I set up basically prompted me to re-name each layer as I saved it, which isn't really saving time.  What I want is for the action to start at the bottom layer and turn off the visiblity of all the layers above it, save the visible layer as a jpeg with a name based on  the layer and then turn on the next layer's visibitlity and repeat, until all layers have been saved.

Photoshop :: Batch Compressing Jpegs

Aug 15, 2005

Ok, i've setup an action to compress an image as a jpeg at 60% or whatever. I'm using this action in a batch of random images I've downloaded from misc sites.

Is there anyway I can have photoshop only compress the image to 60% only if the filesize will be smaller than the original? If this isn't possible with photoshop, are they any alternative apps that do what I'm looking for?

I know how to batch process the jpegs giving each a different filename, but how do I move through the layers?

Photoshop :: Batch Convert JPEGs From Progressive To Baseline..?

Aug 1, 2005

I have a TON of JPEG pics that are currently in Progressive format but I am using them with an app that requires that they be non-progressive. So I am looking to convert them to a Baseline format. In Photoshop, this conversion is done through the Save As dialog. However, I dont know of a way to create an action to do this without saving the file name in it. I want to keep all the pics the same file name that they are currently (..there are a ton of them already indexed in an XML feed so..).

Photoshop :: Saving As Jpegs

Jan 10, 2006

Whenever I open a jpeg from my dig camera and I work on it on PS CS2, at saving time, it always goes right to Save AS. I just simply want to overwrite the previous picture without going into the quality dialog box. I want to keep the original size, but just want to save the changes.

How can I disable that in CS2 (if possible)?

The tiff files were coverted to 72dpi @ 900pixel wide.  I can't figure out why it is still giving me a jpeg over 400kb in filesize. It should be well under 100kb. I normally like to set the jpeg slider around 8 to

still have a sharp image but even at 0 it's still giving me a large file.

Photoshop Elements :: Why Has 12 Suddenly Stopped Saving JPEGs

Mar 3, 2014

I recently had to have a new hard drive and motherboard installed on my PC, which is running Win 7. I didn't have any problems at all with Elements prior to this.

I haven't opened PSE 12 for a few days.

My normal workflow is:

Open RAW file, edit, then separately save PSD and JPG in Irfanview (maybe an odd choice but it's familiar and easy to use).

Just recently I've noticed a problem in Irfanview when entering and saving IPTC data, in that suddenly I'm told the file isn't found, when I try to open it the image area is black, and all I can do is delete it. This is possibly unrelated to my PSE 12 problem, however each time the only way to get a usable copy of the JPG is to re-open the PSD in Elements and re-save as a JPG.

Today, in Elements, when I go to Save As (my usual choice) I go through the usual process but when I check on my hard drive the JPG hasn't been saved.

Xara :: Picture Editor Not Saving JPEGs?

Mar 3, 2011

I use XPE regularly to edit photos and save them in JPEG format to My Picture folders. However, since yesterday the files that get saved after editing, are no longer JPEGs but some unsupported file which cannot be opened. (See screen shot of properties.) I have tried everything I can think of to fix this, but the results are always the same.

If I edit the photographs with Picasa, there is no problem with the edited output to a folder.

If I save the XPE edited files to the Desktop instead of a folder, they are also alright. I am using Windows 7 Home.

Photoshop :: Batch Saving

Jun 1, 2006

I've heard this is possible but have no idea how to set up the action. I would like to automatically carry out a certain number of instructions such as resizing photos automatically by just saving them into a certain folder. Once I dump the photo in the folder it alters the size and maybe carrys out a further action such as altering the auto exposure.

I've also heard you can map hese actions to an certain keyboard button. ie F1 = Folder which reduces the image to 7x5. Folder F2 = Folder which resizes image to 8x6 etc etc.

Photoshop :: Batch Saving Multiple Sizes

Mar 22, 2007

I'm using Photoshop to create my web images and need to make an "Action" to use the "Save for Web" function where it'll save 3 different image sizes (Small, Medium and Large) with a suffix at the end of the file name ("_s", "_m" and "_l" respectively), but I can't seem to find any way of getting the software to add to the filename without rewritting it completely (which I have to do manually anyway).
I have found the "Output Settings" dialog window and this looks to do everything I want, but I have tried everything I can think of and can't seem to get it working.

When i go to batch save, (along with some color correction and other small things) it numbers my files from the LAST image i scanned in to the first.. IE; what should be image50.jpg is image01.jpg and vice versa.. basically its doing the naming in reverse.

I never had this problem in PS7, only since moving to CS2.

Photoshop :: Batch Saving For Web Over 10,000 Images To Their Original Folder In CS6

Nov 18, 2013

I've been asked to work with a blogger who until now has accepted images to their size uncompressed of resized. We've got around the problem of the max image size by using the plugin Insanity. Which has done a great job however what it doesn't do is re sample the images for the web.

Usually if I blog myself, I always save for web but I'm having real trouble, real real trouble creating an action that will save for web to the original folders instead of a separate one.

The thing is that there are so so many images in so many different folders and sub folders these must be modified and replaced ready for re upload.

Photoshop :: CS6 Actions / Batch Saving Images To Clipping Mask

Apr 14, 2013

Target a folder with xxx .gif patterns (in the same size)- Setup actions to batch open each image from the folder, copy the pattern image individually over to a .PSD file that have a silhouette of the sleeve.- Apply the individual pattern to the clipping mask- Save it out as .png

Issue:So far ive only had the automate > batch process to save out one .png with the pattern correctly applied to the silhouette.

I close down everything and initiate automate > batch process then Photoshop will complain about not being able to locate the clipping mask.In my action setup I first open my .psd containing my sleeve shape, then open an actual pattern image and then all other steps ending up with saving the .psd with pattern clipping mask to .png. URL....

In this one below, ive closed everything and run the automate > batch process, which gives me the error you can see here: URL....

Photoshop :: Batch Color Correction And Batch Levels Oddities

Apr 12, 2012

So I have an action that I've been using for the past couple years (?) now that involves opening an image, applying an auto color and auto levels, saving and closing. This has been working for me since probably a couple years ago when I made the action. Yesterday, I was working on a scanning project where I have groups of images in separate folders. I ran the action on the first 2 folders which went fine.

When I got to the 3rd folder all the way up to the last one, PS just loads all the images, does the levels and color then fails to save/close them when done. On one of my folders, it gets through a few of them when it drops the ball and just opens all of them. I'm not sure what's going on as there's no real explanation as to why this is happening.. especially when I've been using this action (and I even made a new action with still no luck). Last week I had about 300 images I had to work with and PS decided to pull this move on me after doing the first 30 of them fine...which is when I first noticed this happening.

To further add, I set my action to show everything step by step and it seems to happen with select images (in some cases, these select images are entirely what is in the folder). With the select images, it is not doing the actions entirely in order. Typically it does it in this manner:

1-Levels
2-Levels
3-Save
4-Close

What I'm now experiencing is this:

2-Levels
1-Levels

(Skips 3 and 4 since it is starting at 2 and working upward).

Photoshop :: Save 300 Dpi JPEGs

Jul 21, 2013

I have a tiff file of a painting I scanned at 300 dpi. It's original image size when I open it is photoshop is 57.8 MB, 18" W by 12.477" H, Res 300. I need to resize it and send it as a 300 dpi jpeg. I have started in the image size dialogue box and just change the W to 11.25. That automatically changes the H to 7.798 and the res still says 300. The file size reduces to 22.6 MB. I click ok and then go to save as and choose jpeg. In the jpeg box I chose 12 Max and baseline standard and click ok. The saved file is reduced to 8.5 MB. When I open it in photoshop, it opens at 300 dpi when I look in the image size box. However, when I send it to someone else and they open it, the file is only 72 dpi. What am I missing to get the file to save at 11.25 inches, jpeg, but remain 300 dpi?
