View 3 RepliesIn CS3 I can go to a file and chose 10 or more photos at one time. If I open 3 in CS4... I can adjust the first one but as soon as I close it and open the next photo.. the background for the next photo comes in black.same for the rest I have chosen.

I want to open two photos to work on a blend but I can only have one open at a time. When I open another, it simply replaces the previous one I had open. I can't access both at the same time. There must be a setting I am missing. I am working on PhotoshopCS3.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7 32 bit system with 4GB ram and graphics accelerator.I have Photoshop CS5.1 installed in the same system at it works perfectly.
What happens is when I use the B+W function, I get an error message saying that I have not enough ram. After that, when I open the next photo with Camera Raw, the raw image will not open.
I have already maximised the Ram that Photoshop can use to 1.7GB and there is more than enough space in my scratch disk.
Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3
OS: XP w/SP3
System: Dell vostro 200, 2.20GHz Duo, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD (mostly free), Intel G33/G31 Express 128.
ERROR:
Could not save photo.jpg because the file is locked. Use Properties command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.
Actions took:
I fully installed all the updates, when unsuccessful, I repaired the installation, when that was unsuccessful, I completely uninstalled and then reinstalled Photoshop. This was also unsuccessful.
Our photos are on a network share and the user has full access to the folder and files (they are not locked or read only). When I access the photos on a different computer, I can open them, make changes, and then save without any problems. When the affected user does, they get the above error when trying to saveand they have the exact same access as the one that works.
PhotoShop CS4.It seems if I open one .jpg image, it looks fine. If I open a second image, it seems to be dimmed just a bit and not as bright. If I go back to the first image, it is no longer as bright anymore either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can open an image just fine in Photoshop CS3 by going file-open and clicking on the file, I then want to bring in another image into Photoshop CS3 by using file-open which I can do but then the first image disappears and only the second image is in Photoshop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've seen one thing in all the Photoshop versions and it really annoys me: if I open more than one file (e.g. 10 files), then in the Window list of the files the first one is always the last file in the selecting order. E.g., if I open files i001.jpg....i010.jpg, then PS lists them in order i010.jpg, i001.jpg, i002.jpg ... i009.jpg.
This makes it really unconfortable to edit multiple files in row and I have to do this all the time. Problem is that I need to process files from camera and then save them in order. One mistake could mean a lot of time later reordering items. Any fix or workaround? Currently I open n+1 files and then close the last one in order to get the listing in correct order.
How do I open photos in Elements 10 from iphoto? I keep getting the message "could not complete your request because of program error" I'm working on a new Mac OS that I purchased only about one month ago and I installed a brand new version of Elements 10.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Canon G15, Elements 9, Windows 7.My photos weren't opening in Raw "cannot open because its the wrong type of file". I did some research and downloaded the 7.3 update.I still can't open a raw file from elements. Same error message. But I can separately use the DNG converter.Shouldn't the converter be integrated with Elements, so I wouldn't have to do a separate conversion, just click on the raw file?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using PSE 11 on an old XP pc for a couple of months - slowly. Assembled new pc around Intel 4770K (using on-chip Intel 4600 graphics) with Windows 8 64bit. When I open any photo file in the Editor, there is no error mesage, but the photo does not open. The same photos are displayed in the PSE Organizer.
I have read about updating video drivers and have done that. After doing another round of video driver updates this morning while on phone line with Adobe Support, I was able to open a couple of files, but then shut down and went to work.
Now after booting up again PSE is back to not displaying the open files again. The installed video driver remains the one installed this morning after which this did work. There are no more newer versions.
I assembled this pc for this purpose - having thousands of old slides and film to digitize and cleanup.
Also - the files that fail to open are logged into history and show in the editor Open menu as recent files, even though they have never actually been opened.
PS CC crashing when trying to open multiple images? If you open one file at a time, there are no issues, but 2 or more and it crashes as shown below. I've tried it with JPG's, TIFF's and PSD's and still get the same problem.I've also tried starting it while pressing alt/ctrl/shift, but still get the same problem.
PS CC is version 14.0, 32 bit, running on Windows 7 which is up to date. I do only have 4GB RAM, of which PS takes 60% of it according to the system info panel.I never had this problem before in CS6 or previous.

When I open a photo.... work on it.... open a second photo....It opens and appears as a blank pallet, (as if there's no picture) but.... when I grab and move the image window with my cursor at the top border, the image appears... then when I release it placing it where I want to move it... the image disappears again. The image is visable the WHOLE time within the navigator panel.
I then have to restart CS5 in order to fix it... but then it'll happen 10 minutes later.
I have an old mac computer that I use for display for clients that has cs3 but when I opened photoshop the images are not displayed in tabs. I have been to Windows>arrange but the only options I have are

the preferences panel does not have interface>open documents in tabs
and I cant remember where else to look. Hope some-one can remember this far back.
I'm using PS CS 3 Extended and whenever I try to open multiple files/images (either by dragging/dropping, using the bridge or just using the Open dialog) it really takes a long time, because photoshop seems to want to "check" every image behind the one it just imported. Let's say I'm importing 40 pictures for editing into Photoshop and I'm upto image 30; then it checks every image behind that (29, 28, 27, 26 etc.), slowing the process down conciderably.
In previous versions of Photoshop, I used to be able to import multiple files and they would load up relatively quick, and it wouldn't do this "checking" of files behind the last file imported.
Is there any way to turn this "checking" off so the import process will be faster?
I need to open my photos for the project I am working on in camera raw format to access the editing options I need. I repeat the same steps but they only open up in that format about half the time.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am working on a picture file, jpegs, changing the size, the level, etc. I open several pictures usually 3 or 4 and when I try to open the next I receive a pop up error message that says: "Could notcomplete your request because of a program error.” This has just started to happen recently, probably since I upgraded to CS6. Previously I could work on a file and have 100 or so pictures
open and still be able to open additional pictures. I have downloaded and in installed all availableupdates and the message I receive when I check for updates is:
“Your applications are up-to-date as checked less than a minute ago.” I tried to Edit>Purge>All, Reset Preferences, Deleted the Adobe Photoshop Ver. 6 Prefs.psp folder and pressed Ctrl+Alt+Shift on Photoshop startup and deleted Adobe Photoshop Settings file. Did not work, what next?
I have had this problem intermittently for years with different versions and different computers, but this time it is not going away. I need to use the 64 bit version for large files, but it keeps crashing in several different ways.
1- I open the program from the desktop. It shows the spash screen, shows the workspace for a couple of seconds, and then crashes with the message:
Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:Photoshop.exe Application Version:12.1.0.0 Application Timestamp:4d90d339 Fault Module Name:StackHash_8d67 Fault Module Version:0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp:00000000 Exception Code:c0000096 Exception Offset:0000000078e650ac OS Version:6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID:1033 Additional Information 1:8d67 Additional Information 2:8d672743ada8a2e1e75c51ac7051c8c2 Additional Information 3:354b Additional Information 4:354bf194360e47150cf5d5ca4e71d674
I am using the latest version. My video card drivers are totally up to date.I am using a decent computer with 16 gig of ram.I am opening the program as an administrator.I have reset the prefrences too many times to count by deleting the prefrences and holding down ctrl+alt+shift at startup.
2- If by some wild stretch of the imagination I get the program to start with totally cleared prefrences and running as administrator then the program will crash about 75% of the time when using "Save As".If I try to do anything special like create a new folder to put the file into then the chances of a crash increase greatly.
3- If I try to open up a file from Lightroom, even if the files are opening every other way, Photoshop will crash very often.
What is going on here? I have made no changes to my computer, have not installed any new programs, and, as I stated earlier, have everything updated. I even stopped using plugins a long time ago because I did not want to take the chance that it was going to cause this fragile program to crash, so all plugins are uninstalled. Why does this keep happening? When this has happened before everything will work fine for months and then suddenly I cannot get the program to open. When it does open again, for seemingly as unknown a reason as when it stopped, it will work anywhere from a few minutes to another couple of months.
This seems to be a problem that tons of people have, but I have not been able to find any answer other than "Delete Settings" or "Run as Administrator" or "Update *****." What can I do to keep this from happening and to fix it when it happens?

When I open the photos in the library or in develop mode I see the photos in good and light colors in the miniatures in the bottom of the screen.
When I double click on a photo, it opens up in a bigger format and it looks also beautiful (in the same way I can see in the photocamera display), however after around 1 second of "loading" the photo changes its colors and it's no more bright and beautiful it changes in more dull colors.
how to keep the camera settings in raw files and edit the photos starting from the edits that the camera made?
I have two very annoying bugs that are wasting a lot of my time.
This is LR 4.2, Mac OS 10.7.3
When I try to open a selected batch of photos from LR (usually around 30 photos) and right click on the filmstrip and click on preset that I have made to open in Photoshop CS5 as Tiffs, sRGB, 8-bits 300dpi, no compression (same as I had on LR3), the photos DON'T GET RENDERED in Lr before opening, they will open one by one in Photoshop, which is a pain because during this tme the computer will be unusable. AND most of the time, one photo of the batch won't open at all - if I select 30, only 29 will open.
I have a user that is attempting to open multiple files at once in IllustratorCC. When you select multiple files and right click -> open, it only opens one file. If she double clicks a file while there is a file open in illustrator, nothing happens. The only way she has found to open multiple files is to go to file->open->browse to location for each file. This is quite time consuming. Is there anyway to enable being able to quickly open multiple files similiar to how older versions of Illustrator did?
