where I can get some Nutrition or healthy PSD's from? I was to make some flyers or poster to hang in my work for March which is Nutrition month. Its to promote healthy eating and living.
Since I updated CS6 recently (I use the creative cloud) I have had problems with saving some PSDs in photoshop. My workflow is as follows: I import from lightroom 4 as 8bit psds into Photoshop, do my editing and then click to close the file. Then usually the save box would pop up and I would click "save", sending the psd back to Lightroom. This still works on some files, but others just close (even though I have done substantial editing on them) and I have lost a lot of time, having to redo the editing. I tried to use the "save as" command and the file is saved correctly and is also sent back to lightroom, but it takes so much longer and is annoying to do... I have tried to close and reopen the applications, but it still happens...
I'm receiving the error 'Could not complete your request because of a program error' when I try to open some psd's. Â The last few entries in the error log are ... Â 2012:12:17 09:32:36 : /Volumes/workarea/PS_13.1_Mac_Daily_Retail/20121126.r.220/photoshop/m ain/photoshop/xcode/../sources/USheetFX.cpp : 4482 : REQUIRE failed 2012:12:17 09:32:43 : /Volumes/workarea/PS_13.1_Mac_Daily_Retail/20121126.r.220/photoshop/m ain/photoshop/xcode/../sources/USheetFX.cpp : 4482 : REQUIRE failed 2012:12:17 09:33:35 : /Volumes/workarea/PS_13.1_Mac_Daily_Retail/20121126.r.220/photoshop/m ain/photoshop/xcode/../sources/USheetFX.cpp : 4482 : REQUIRE failed
I have about 40GB of .jpegs and some Photoshop files that I can no longer open. When I try to open the .jpegs, Photoshop says Invalid JPEG marker. Windows Picture Viewer says no preview available. Internet Explorer just shows a small x in the corner. Others like IrfanView or Paint and say things like Image Header Corrupted or Invalid File Type. I have tried a dozen applications with no luck. I have tried several recovery tools with no luck. The files themselves are still there. The dates are correct and the file sizes are correct. They just can’t be previewed or opened. When I open them in wordpad, the screen is empty. When I open them with a Hex editor, I get all 0’s in the middle section and dots in the right section. When I zip them, the compressed file is still relatively large so there must be some data there.
I had the files on a hard drive (D) that I use for storage. My computer got zapped with a virus or spyware that I was unable to remove so I reformatted my system drive (C) and reinstalled a fresh version of Windows XP. I have done this a half dozen times over the years on several different computers with no problems. This time was different. After Windows installed, I got a screen that said something about orphaned files and that Windows was updating them or renaming them. It scrolled for about an hour through all of my .jpegs.
After this was finished I could not open about half of my .jpegs on the D drive. (I have a backup off most of my files but there about 1,000 shots that I hadn’t back up yet.)
Does anyone have any clues as to what happened or how I can open these files?
I'm not very organized, and im missing a lot of files. Is there a way to search for a specific file type, and pull up a list of all psds on my computer?
I have several .psd images that I need to turn into .swf's. The only solution I can figure is to place the psd into illustrator and save. Is there a faster/easier option as I have hundreds of files that I need to do this to! I also need them to be .pngs.
I have just upgraded this evening to PS CC after I upgraded I cannot now move any type without it leaving marks over any images in the PSD file when I save the file as a jpeg etc the marks are still there. They appear even if the image layer is turned off or I delete the image layer...move the edit then paste the image back into the PSD...the marks still appear.
I can get Photoshop CS2 to open up and work fine. Only, I cannot get it to open any files up. .jpgs, .pngs, and even .psds don't open. It says that there is a program error, and it doesn't say what that error is exactly.
I've tried "Open As" and tried to open the files as something different but that didn't work at all. I can open up images in ImageReady, yet I can't transfer them back to Photoshop to work on them. It also won't allow me to create a new canvas, (the same message pops up).
I recently moved, but I'm not sure if that would have caused any issue for Photoshop to act up like this. Everything else on the computer works fine and dandy. And it hasn't ever done anything like this before.
I'd rather not have to uninstall and then reinstall it,
I have five PSDs I want to make into one 5-page PDF. Â I want the text to stay vector/selectable in the PDF (and not rasterized during the conversion process). Is there any way to do this?
I have tried and tried again but there is something preventing me from opening PSDs and JPGs. Along with that, when I first start up the program, I have about a thousand errors all having something to do with Plugin.dll.
Just installed CS6 Extended, I cannot convert my NEF files and save them to psd. I get a message that says "cannot save because write access was not granted" I am using my new Mac. I never had this problem with my Windows CS5 extended.
I have a few older PSDs that were saved with Photoshop CS that will not open in GIMP or in IrfanView... instead of the PSD layers, I get a white image that has a message in four languages that says, "This layered Photoshop file was not saved with a composite image".
Yet I have other layered PSDs that were saved of similar images at the same time that do open in GIMP just fine.
Also what is very strange here in these files that won't show their image is that the paths in these original PSDs do show up in GIMP, but normally GIMP cannot read path information from PSD files... or from PSDs saved in GIMP anyway.
how to get these images to open with their original content, or show their images at all?
I have been contracted by a customer to remake a logo of theirs. Like always it should be a vector file so they can scale it and print it resolution independent. The problem is their logo includes some effects (pillow embossed text and graphics) that are much easier done in Photoshop. So I'm left with the option of manually creating highlights and shadows (drawing a line then using gaussien blur)in illustrator to imitate the photoshop pillow emboss.Â
I was wondering if I placed a photoshop image in illustrator and saved it as an eps or ai if screen printers and other printers that require a vector file be able to use it or if that wouldn't work at all. I also know that there is a way to save photoshop eps. However when I try to do that with this logo that option is not available. I am using Photoshop and Illustrator cs5 on mac OS 10.6.8
I just bought a website template and there are certain files that won't open in gimp like psd's and even some png's and jpg's (though the ones I need most do). My girlfriend was able to open the psd's in photoshop. Anyway to get all these files to open in gimp?
I've attached the psd, the png and jpgs wont attach (maybe because they are tiny 70 byte files that dont matter). (Im using Windows 7 64 bit)
I'm making large prints (40x60) from Illustrator files, and the print plugin requires Photoshop. I am converting the AI file's Document Color Mode to RGB, then exporting to PSD as high-resolution 300ppi, using artboards. Â When I export the AI files to PSD and view them in PS, the photographic elements appear pixelated at 100% whereas the text & graphics are smooth and high-res. I've checked the linked photographic files, and they are not pixelated. So what I've had to do is export editable PSDs from AI using the "Write Layers" option, open the files in PS, and then re-place the photographic elements so that they are no longer pixelated. Â FYI, Anti-Aliasing is set to Art Optimized (Supersampling). The AI and PS files are both sized to 40x60, and the PSD is opening as 300ppi.
Is there a way to delete the LR metadata from files? I can delete the xmp sidecars using the OS, but I also want to delete all the LR metadata from jpgs, etc . Is there a plugin that will do this, or do I have to use exiftool?
I export high res TIFFs and PSDs a lot from Illustrator. One option is EMBED ICC PROFILE. I'm going to PS to build my composite. When should I embed the profile, and when shouldn't I? Â When I open in PS, even if I don't Embed, doesn't PS know what colorspace the doc was created?
Before I got LR4 I developed a series of images (thousands) with Bridge and Photoshop. I've now decided to build a LR catalog of the series.  As I import I want to use the Image # option to rename files, making the whole mess of photos "cleaner" with unique names, etc. Of course I want ot import Raw's and the Tif/Psd images I made along the way. I notice the Image numbering process does NOT recognize the relationship between the raw and edited files. So files (img_123.nef and img_123.tif) become (img-01.nef and img-02.tif). I would prefer the tif file be named img-01.tif so the link between the two remains obvious.  Key to creation date & time? I realize this is a really specific issue, but if the point is to make the series tidier and more coherent it would be a useful feature.
I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".
I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.
Can anyone tell me what color settings I need to set in photoshop in order to avoid this from happening? It only happens once in a while and I don't know what I've done to fix it or screw it up. What happens is that when I'm in photoshop and I do a "save for web" my document jumps to image ready and when viewing '2 up' for optimization purposes and comparison, I realize that the original view is actually duller in color and does not look like the original in photoshop. The blacks are definitely not as black.
when I got my first Macintosh IICX and all of my MacPaint clip art. I don't want to get rid of the clip art because since I'm still using a black ink printer and not upgrading to a color one, the clip art looks nice in newsletters and the like.
Up until this time I had been using SuperPaint which had the New Superbits editing plug-in to refine the pictures so they had the smoother and cleaner lines instead of looking jagged. With my new computer and printer, I'm also getting Photoshop CS packaged with Adobe Creative Suite Premium, which I have never used before. Since I have not received my order yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Photoshop has the capability of improving the older MacPaint clip art like SuperPaint did with the New SuperBits editing plug-in. Over the past two days, I have been trying like crazy to back-up my pictures with SuperPaint and then re-saving them with Graphic Converter. It's been so incredibly slow that I thought I would go ahead and ask you, the experts, if Photoshop can also improve the quality of my older MacPaint clip art or if I should continue to back-up my clip art like I have been doing.
I have just got back from the Elbow gig and pulled the images off the card. They load up in Bridge but don't have actual picture thumbnails. They are named correctly, ie: IMG_3483.CR2 but they won't open!? Error message says 'Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognise this type of file'
I could see them on the back of the camera.
mac users... i did a software update the other day and I noticed that there was an update for ACR. Could it have been something to do with that? And why can't I find ACR in my Applications?
I use Photoshop Elements 11. I am trying to upload photos to a website and the browse only goes to Windows/Pictures. How do I navigate to photoshop to upload pictures there?
of Adobe Photoshop v6.0.1 (quite old, I know, but it do all I want and on my old HW I did not plan/want to use any more recent version, because they are HUGE and with just a little preferences trick, I did not need to reinstall my PS - ever ), yet as Czech user, I need my software to type some special characters as well. These are looking like this: Â [URL]...
Now the only problem is, that some of them PS just refuse to type. Seven small and seven caps are just wrong. See the line "for PS:"... Â I battled the problem even by editing the fonts itsels, because that seems to work with Adobe Illustrator, yet this also cause the edited fonts to be useless in another programs. So I looked deeply and in the Adobe settings in directory Fonts / Reqrd are directory CMaps and perhaps editing the character map used will be better and usable solution? how to do it or even determine with file from the 96 files in the CMaps directory are right now used by Adobe Photoshop?
Everytime I open my CS6, it always show " Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted)" I reinstalled it but it is still popping out.
when I try to save a tagra file with a alpha channel in photoshop 7 the box for the alpha channel is greyed out, with an warning sign next to it, and the line below stating "file must be saved as a copy with this selection" When I examine the saved file the alpha channel is not there!
Has anybody got any idea why?
My old version of photoshop 6, allows you to save alpha channels!
the soft edge feature of the eraser and the brush no longer work. I can go into the pallet and choose a soft edge eraser or brush, but it comes up hard edge. When I try to use the marquee box with a feather to get a soft edge, I again get a hard edge. I've used this technique a lot, so I think I'm doing the method properly. I have removed the preference files a number of times and have trashed the old Photoshop and reinstalled Photoshop 3 or 4 times,
I am working on someone elses computer and the Software settings are different. The old owner does not use this computer anymore. The swatches are set and I would like it to function how it usually does, etc. I mean, even the transparent swatch on the tool bar is not there anymore, so when I use the pen path tool, I get these white and black fills which makes it difficult for me to see the path I am meant to be following.
How do I reset Photoshop so that I can customise it the way I want it? Reinstalling the softwares is not an option.
I would like to reset Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, etc.
