Just a little info for those who don't already know this.
Needing to reinstall Vista to change the boot drive, I started to deactivate PS and the Design Standard suite upgrade. The latter went fine, but PS flat out refused to deactivate - it talked to the server and came back with the same answer every time: "Deactivation unsuccessful".
So I called Adobe (Norway) and a very nice and helpful gentleman confirmed my suspicion: I had used up my 20 allowed activations (I'd just recently seen this mentioned here and on the Creative Suite forums).
But he also told me to just go ahead and do whatever I needed to do, and call him later to get a new activation code. This I did with no problems.
Anyway, it might be a good idea to not "waste" deactivations unless you really have to. Even though the whole process was very painless, they *do* keep business hours 9 - 5 and no weekends (at least here - don't know about the rest of the world).
How did I manage to use up 20 activations in just one year? Well, I'm one of those unfortunate souls who just can't keep my fingers off my computer. I'm always looking for little improvements, and with a high-end laptop fully backed up there's no risk of losing work or uptime. But I remember having quite a few problems getting Vista 64 to install properly with the DIMM's fully populated, and I guess I blew 5 activations in one day there.
How to “synchronize” the ‘layout number” with “sheet number”?
As in most cases, the arrangements of “lay outs” reflects the way they are regularly printed, then how could we renumbering the sheets such that the first lay out takes number 1, the second lay out takes number 2,…and so forth.
When I try to enter my serial number of CS6 which I just downloaded on your My Products & Services Site it responds with Please enter a valid serial number.
I just bought Photoshop CS3 Extended, and want to install it on all of my computers. Would anybody happen to know if there is a limit on how many times it can be installed?
The only reason I ask, is because I've run into that problem with programs like Norton Systemworks. You only get so many installs, then you have to go out and buy the software again.
I just got Photoshop 7.0 and I load the software, input my Key and details etc..then i select to install it but once it starts to install I get this message:
I bought and downloaded CS4 upgrade. The first install on my desktop went fine. When trying to install the second on my laptop, the serial number box turns up a red x immediately upon typing it. I have verified my serial number and re-typed it numerous times. I did an on-line chat and after a half hour wait was told they couldn't help me. Gave me two phone numbers to call for licensing problem, both long distance. I called both numbers and got fax machines both times.
how you determine how many colors an image is using... the reason i ask is that i have an image that i am wanting to have screen printed onto a shirt and the site says i can only use 4 colors...
I have created a design for a t-shirt competition. I have not read till now that you are only allowed to use a maximum of 8 colours in you design!! Trouble is that I do not know how many colours I have actually used :/I have read blogs on how to convert the colours by saving the file as a giff as well as posterising which all seem to make my work look like a waste of time..
I have downloaded a trial version of Photoshop 6 to see how it works with video editing. So far it only seems to be able to do a max of 3-3 cuts and then refuses to do any more. I need to edit a 30 min movie. I need to do hundreds. Is this a limitation of Photoshop 6 trial, Photoshop 6? Am I trying to do more than Photoshop can do? I have no problem using Avid or Corel video editing software.
I am a Photoshop CC subscriber. Due to a hacker attack to your site, the card which I payed my subscription monthly was cancelled by the bank. So, I ask if it is possible to change my old card to a new one the bank gave me?
Is there a way to locate my serial number without the CD or package my Photoshop CS5 came in? I can't find either of those items, but I need the serial to upgrade to the new CreativeCloud.
I've looked on forums and some people have said to close and re-open Photoshop and the serial will appear, but that doesn't happen for me.
I have been running a valid copy which I registered when I installed. Recently get a message to uninstall, re-install then contact support. When contacting support, they say the SN is invalid and refer me here. I registered the SN three years ago, and it is no longer there. I have CS3 Dreamweaver, and InDesign which the registration is no loger in the myProducts file either. I haven't tested, but am assuming I will have a similar problem with them as well.
I have CS5 installed on my main computer and want to install it on my laptop, but I have lost the box that it came in. How can I get the serial number.
I have a file with Black and 5 spot channels. When creating a pdf, only the last channel appears and all else is white. If I delete one channel, any channel, if appears with all plates showing. I created a DCS file, added one new spot channel at a time for whatever art was printing in that channel. When I go past 4 channels, that's when things get strange.
The file prints correctly, however will not appear correctly in the PDF. And, I need to send a correct looking PDF to client.
I recently had to re-install Windows 7 and then had to re-install Adobe Creative Suite 2. When I try to register my product, which I have used for years, I now get an error message that says my serial number is invalid. How do I register this suite? I can't use it until I get it registered.
I have a sequence of low quality images that captured by a regular shop camera. I wanna identify license plate of the car in images. I am wondering if it is possible to use the sequences to zoom in the image and identify the license plate? 15 images of the sequence are uploaded, if more are needed, i'll upload more:
On installation i clicked on trial because i couldnt find my serial number and then when i found my serial number i opened photoshop. cant figure out where i go to enter in my serial number so that its no longer doing a trial.
So, I'm wanting to put Adobe Photoshop CS4 on my new computer but can't find the e-mail with the serial number in it. I've used countless software but no serial found works.
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS4. I have created about 20 droplets that work great. Any way to run a number of droplets in succession. Once one droplet is complete the next one begins. I would like to run all my droplets over-night when I go home from work to come back in the moring to having all my images adjusted from the droplets. how to make this happen?
How do I outline a letter or a number? For example, I have a black, arial font, 200 pt number 5. I would like to put a thin outline of another color, say red, around it. I have tried making a larger number 5 on a different layer and placing it under the smaller number but that gives me more of a drop shadow effect which is not what I am looking for.
I recently got a new laptop, and I want to transfer the CS2 activation from my old desktop to my new laptop. I deactivated CS2 on my old computer, but when I try to activate it on my new laptop, I'm told that the serial number isn't valid.I use Window's Vista.
I have a desktop and laptop that I've installed PS CS on. The desktop hard drive had to be reformatted. Someone on my hobby list said there were only 2 installs allowed for PS CS.
hard drive where I had installed my PS3E died, so I bought a new 500G hard drive to replace it. I also bought a laptop the same day. When I try to register on either computer, Adobe tells me that my numbers are invalid. I assure you They Are Correct and They Are Quite Valid.
So when I signed up a moment ago, when I included my serial number, I GOT A MESSAGE SAYING THAT MY NUMBER HAS ALREADY BEEN USED, so apparently It Is Valid.
When I signed up to post on this forum, I received a message from Adobe saying that Someone Else was using my name, and it suggested that I include My Bloody Middle Initial!
Is it just me, or is This Absolutely The Most Inept System on Earth?
I need to register or apparently I will not be able to upgrade.
My O.S is Windows XP Pro (SP3) and my computer has more than enough nuts and bolts inside it to run NASA never mind CS4! My anti virus is AVG 8.5 and my firewall is Zone Alarm, both of which were disabled during the attempted install.I purchased the upgrade from the Adobe store (at £165) and had the box delivered - great so-far!However, when I came to install the upgrade, and after putting in the correct CS4 serial, a window opened to inform me that the system-profile search, failed to find the CS3 in the defaul location - and believe me it's there! I followed the on-screen instructions, typing-in the serial number of my (leagally-bought) CS3; to my horror, it told me that the serial number was 'not a valid copy' when it clearly is!!I have successfully installed the CS4 Upgrade only on a 30 day trial basis but still cannot register as it then tells me that BOTH my serial numbers are invalid. Suffice to say that the 30 day trial version was later uninstalled and I am now back to square-one and £165 poorer!I have opened a case with Adobe but after over a week have still had no reply. Phoning customer support in the UK was also a no-no as their office hours (9-5 Mon to Fri) are not compatible with me as I cannot be next to my machine during these times (Unless I take a day off!) My next option is to phone the States but hey - it's only money!!My question is therefore - can anyone help or make suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue. A point to note that after buying and installing CS3 I notice in the headline (once the programme is running) it is labelled 'CS3 EXTENDED' yet this is not written on the box - is this normal? The CS4 Upgrade was the same so it looks like I am trying to install a like-for-like product.
I'm using Vista 64-bit. I've purchased two different Photoshop CS4 Extendeds off of ebay and both have had this same problem. Makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I install photoshop, enter the serial number, all works fine. The next time I open up photoshop, it says that the serial number is no longer valid. I tried calling adobe the first time and they said that the number I had given them was invalid, yet it worked the first time. It's like I use it once and then the activation or whatever won't let me enter it again. I'm not sure what to do! Once you enter in a valid serial number,
