I am on a Mac Pro with Magic Trackpad. Using Photoshop CS5, the cursor/pointer disappears after a while, and I have to switch to another application, then back to Photoshop to bring it back. The pointer does not disappear over the image window, just over the tool palettes, toolbar, menus, etc. This is a recent development, and I've only ever seen it in Mountain Lion. None of my previous systems exhibited this behavior.
My mouse pointer in Photoshop CS3 has changed to three little finger 'ghosts'. I know this indicates I'm in some special 'mode' but I just want to go back to normal. Whatever tool I choose, the pointer becomes three little 'whatever' ghosts. What is this mode and how do I get out of if?
Working with Wacom Intuos 3 graphic tablet and two screen, my mouse cursor disappears when I go to my second screen. This is just temporary since I only have to switch out of Photoshop and in again and the pointer is back, but since it happens often, it becomes really annoying...

On Civil3D 2007, at least on my machine, the mouse seems to move slowly when it is over the drawing space, but moves at normal speeds when over menu or toolbar items and when in other applications. It's almost as if the "resolution" of the mouse changes as soon as it is over the drawing area in Civil3D. The result is that the mouse/pointer falls behind a little bit when you move it, almost like it does when you use a remote computer over a slow network connection. This makes it difficult to have precise mouse movements.
I should also mention that I don't have this problem in any other applications, including Land Desktop 2006. Some hardware specifics: Dell, P4-HT 3.0GHz, XPpro machine, 2 gig of RAM, RADEON X600 256MB video card, single monitor, Logitech Mx500 mouse, all updates current.
I use a plug-in that prompt me for a keyword. In the 2012 version of AutoCAD I could press key down to get a drop down list on the mouse pointer with all the keywords, see attached image. In the 2014 version I don't get this choice, I only get the possibility to choose keyword from the command line at the bottom. Is the functionality with key down gone in the never versions or can I set a variable so it shows?
I am using Illustrator on a Wacom 24HD on a PC, which works quite well, except that as a right handed person, the tooltips, which appear to the right of the mouse cursor, are covered by my hand. Windows (and the Wacom settings) both have a left hand / right hand setting which control where a popup menu appears, however, I do not see anywhere where I can control where the tooltips appear, presumably because this is an Illustrator feature, not a Windows feature. Its particular important for this application because tooltips are used for information (such as size when dragging out new shapes), not just for beginners needing a reminder what a button means. To put the tooltips to the left of the cursor instead of the right?
Photo-PAINT fails to correctly determine the mouse pointer position.
No matter what you do, no matter which magnification level you're working in... any rectangle drawn is never put exactly where the mouse button was clicked or lifted.
(1) I've selected the image's edges while drawing a cropping rectangle. See the resulting cropping rectangle miss my selection for more than 3 pixels:
(2) I have selected the lower edges of the gray horizontal rules while drawing a cropping rectangle. See the resulting cropping rectangle miss my selection for more than 3 pixels again:

When I try to use a window zoom in a layout viewin model space my window offsets the the right and below the mouse pointer by a consideral distance. Window zoom works correctly in Model Space and in layout view in paper space. It is doing it in all of my drawings New or Old so I'm guessing its a global setting of some type.
I don't know if the section I'm posting this question in is certainly correct but I just can't figure out one thing that "my" GIMP used to possess years ago, while I was using it for the first time. And which doesn't seem to occur anymore after some more releases.
Now, to the point:
I'm using a WACOM Bamboo tablet and -- I need to make my core pointer use decent brushing parameters than my tablet rubber and stylus. The effect I'm seeking is to enable using my mouse pointer as a rubber with increased brush size comparing to the thin brush I'm using while drawing with the tablet. The brush size seems to be the same regardless of which tool I'm using at a time, and it stinks, because if I could use them in a decent way, my work would be way enhanced. I just need to know how to make those two mediums behave adversely.
I note that from time to time I can't see the counter and this is quite an annoyance. When the invisible pointer hover over or passes over an object, the latter will highlight as usual. I have to close and restart the drawing each time due to this issue. Is there an explanation for it, even a solution to prevent this from happening?
NOTE : This is limited to the drawing area only. I can see the pointer in the menu/toolbar area and outside autocad but not in the drawing area.
Using Civil 3D 2012, windows 7 pro 64, Radeon HD6970 video card.
The pointer flickers when in AutoCAD, especially when in menus, between the arrow and the arrow / waiting circle. Also does this flicker with the cross hairs and the waiting symbol when in the drawing window. Have all the drivers up to date no luck.
Have also tried multiple different pointing devices. Also have several instances where text will not move or allow to be modified until I save and restart the program.
How do you change the characteristic of the cursor from Hand (Move Tool) back to just being a pointer? This condition only exists in the Develope Module when my cursor is placed over the top of the photo. When I move it off the photo it returns to a pointer. In the Library Module it is always a pointer like I like it to be.
I can't find in new max (2013) settings for zoom. I want to set Zoom about mouse pointer and adjust a bit zoom speed (now it is too much for one mouse wheel step).
I can't find zoom settings in 3ds max 2013. Where they are? I think that in previous max it was in Customize -> Viewports tab. But now it is not there.
how to turn off the mouse function when the mouse cursor moves over a feature, such as an edge, point, or surface, and highlights it. I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I haven't been able to find any posts recently, or regarding Inventor 2013 specificially on this issue, so I was hoping this version had the option of turning it off. Does any of Autodesk's software, such as AutoCAD, have the option of turning it off?
Alright. This is an unusual situation. I recently formatted my OS for Vista. Reinstalled CS3. And started getting some interesting things with my pointer (mouse AND tablet). It lags to put it simply. But only when I'm activating something (like a lasso or brush). But that's not all. I've found a workaround kinda. If I zoom in and/or out, the pointer is fine and there's absolutely no lag. Code:
I followed the tutorial on this page: [URL]. However, my animation auto plays and mousing over has no effect. I have searched and sreached to no understandable (to me) avail. Here's a link to the file: [URL]
My pointer gets very jerky whenever I'm using the Layers palette in Photoshop CS6. This is never happened in previous versions (although I skipped CS5).
When I'm working in an image, and in other places, the cursor is a horizontal series of symbols rather than the pointer arrow I'm used to in PSE 6, 10 and 11. The left side of the symbols is where the cursor is at.
I don't know what this is about, and don't care. I want the pointer arrow I'm used to. I've looked in Preferences but see nothing that applies. How do I replace these hard to use and irritating horizontal symbols with the pointer arrow?
I'm running Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in Windows 7 Virtual XP mode, since the program won't run in Win7 64-bit mode. It used to run fine in 32-bit mode. It runs OK in the virtual XP mode, but I find that the circle tool in the painting or clone stamp functions always has an arrowhead in the center of the circle. It never used to, just the circle for painting or cloning. How do I get rid of it? Changing the settings in the Preferences menu does not work. Also, the virtual mode doesn't seem to allow updating program files, although it updates XP files. I tried to download a Photoshop update file. There was a prompt asking where it should go. But when I selected a place, and clicked OK, the Next button did not come on.
how to I get a "pointer tool"?Also, I want to add text to a photo. I click on the text tool and select the font and size I want (Ariel 12 pt). However, the type comes out teeny tiny. There never seems to be a pointer tool to select anything.
I am brand new and have tried to read up. At least I could find out how to get rid of the text selection box by choosing layer to image size, but no pointer appears.
I have a custom menu I would like to show at runtime during a C# method. I know hoew to do it via LISP and any best way to do it in C#. This is the lisp equivalent of what I would like to do...
I've been working on a project for a bit and so far everything had been working correctly. But recently I must have mistakenly changed a setting I don't know about because now I am experiencing an issue.
When I am trying to enter a unit at the pointer, for example, the length of a line I am creating, if I use a space, AutoCAD seems to be treating it as ENTER and thus I can not specify my unit correctly.
In other words, if I want my line to be 3'-9 5/8" in length, I can type in 3'-9, but as soon as I hit the space bar in order to type in the 5/8" AutoCAD automatically finishes my line at a length of 3'-9".
I mean photoshop zoom tool oprates according to pointer position . In other word, pointer location is the center of the zoom and this capability choose zoom area by pointer.
But adobe illustrator zoom doesn't have such preference
I have downloaded the above update 3 times and no matter what i do , including "run as administrator" not a lot happens when i double click the .exe file.I get the waiting cursor but then the cursor just changes back to the normal pointer.
Win Vista 32 bit Business , all updates installed .
whereby I can draw an arrow on a clip within AE CC and have the point of the arrow locked to a person head as they move along i.e. I wish to 'point out' an individual in marathon. This will be transferred back into PremPro for further editing.
