When you click on the magnetic lasso tool it doesnt always let you select what you want to select, sometimes it will say "Warning: no pixels are more than 50% selected. The selected edges will not be visible". Other times instead of actually selecting anything close to the area I selected it just makes a circle looking lasso instead, which typically eliminates the sharp edges I would like to select at times.
I know at some point in time the magnetic lasso allowed me to select every sharp edge and every detailed spot I wanted, so what did I click? I tried reinstalling photoshop and that didnt help.
I've been suing the magnetic lasso tool to make a selection of a group of people; there is a lot of going between legs and over heads, etc. But invariably when I get about half way through the selection the magnetic lasso tool acts as if I've completed the selection, i.e. I tap the image and the point of the last tap suddenly is connected with my point of origin. I have done this several times, making sure that I didn't tap too hard or anything like that, but that seems not to be the problem (I'm using CS6/Mac 10.6.8, for what it's worth).
So, my question is: is there a way to erase part of the selection? I know about the add to/subtract from the selection; but that's not getting me back to where I need. For example, the line that cuts through my group, the line going from my end point to point of origin, well, if I can delete that line and continue on from the end point that might resolve this problem.
I using the magnetic lasso to select an image...if I mess up. I try to stop the lasso, it just keeps tracking whereever I go and I want to stop it from tracking .... what do I do to end it... I know I can go to where I started ......... but is there a better way?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two layers overlapping, and want to select only the overlapping section. I made both layers less opaque so I could see the exact intersection lines. But when I use the magnetic lasso, it selects along the lines pretty well, but in some places it is warped or a bit crooked. Is there a better way or a better tool?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been playing around with the Magnetic Lasso Tool a bit lately, and it's reminded me just how great it is. I think it's one of those selection tools that's often overlooked. It does an admirable job especially if you follow up with the new refine edge controls.
Anybody else got any views on the tool?
The first is the original image that I would like to remove the background from. The second picture is my attempt with the magnetic lasso. It left areas that are very rough, particularly near the base of the flower that seem to include portions of the background. My question is how would a pro do this to ensure smooth boundaries all around and if this is the best that the lasso can do, what else do I need to do to fix the areas that are rough?

layers, channels, paths becomes white to and all you can see is the paths that the Magnetic Lasso Tool has made around the beak until you click any key on the keyboard but the annoying thing about doing that is that the path automatically becomes selected there for I am unable to draw the paths around the rest of the beak does anyone know of a patch of some kind that will correct this error?
I have been trying to use the magnetic lasso tool in Photoshop 7 to select part of an image. I want to extract as much detail as possible, so I have been zooming in real close and laying down a lot of anchors mapping out the image. When I am nearing completion, I get an error message saying that it is too complex to complete. Is there a way to adjust the magnetic lasso tool, so that it will stop giving me an error, or is there a better why to select a complex image?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have around 200 images that need to be treated to make the background look better. Currently I can do this by selecting the item with the magnetic lasso tool. I then inverse the selection and apply a Gausian Blur. However it is very time consuming to do this 200 times. Is there any way that selecting the item of clothing can be put into an action so that it does not need to be carried out 200 times.

However, when I try to do this, it doesn't work! The hotkeys work just fine when I am not actually using the magnetic lasso tool, why I can't adjust them while I'm working with the tool?

The problem I've now is when I drag lasso tool on an image to make selection it doesn't make a selection even it is showed in the history state that I've used lasso,or magnetic lasso.
My machine is a Mac Pro 2010,Quad-Core Intel Xeon running on Lion 10.7.5 and my bamboo driver is the latest version 5.3.2-2. Even now I've change to use freeform path I've still cannot change form path to selection.
I know that while I'm working with an image if i hit the DELETE key it removes the last place point when using a lasso tool, but is it possible to undo the JOIN UP at the end of a lasso loop? If I press the DELETE key at this point it deletes whats inside the loop?
The problem is that I'm forever accidentally clicking too fast when using the lasso tool which automatically joins the lasso loop up. Is there anyway to UNDO this final step?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm designing a lift truck with a "chain over" lift - the lift cylinder has a sprocket mounted on the end of the rod, and the chain is grounded on one side. The other end of the chain is mounted to a lifting carriage so that as the cylinder extends and pushes the sprocket up, the chain rolls over it and the carriage moves up (at twice the speed of the cylinder). This is nothing new - it's pretty much how every single fork truck in the world operates.
My question is this: can I use the roller chain generator to model this chain, or should I model the links and array them along a path? My thinking is that if I can use the chain generator, I should be able to animate the chain using Dynamic Simulation. But the chain generator seems to require a minimum of 2 sprockets in order to work - there's no way that I can see to have a "non-looped" chain or any way to just ground the end of the chain.

I've attached the file I'm working on. The polyline in question is the green outline on the object on the right.
i want to have multiple offsetoutlines on a closed or non-closed path. with "offset path" i can make only one additional outline but i need multiple?

How do you turn off magnetic edges? Like when you are using the slice tool or marquise tool and you drag the box near the edge of the canvis or to the edge of anther slice it sticks to it.

I am working on a project for an electricity and magnetism class that deals with using neodymium magnets to propel other neodymium in around a ring. Any method of both importing neodymium or any other rare earth magnetic material into Autodesk Inventor 2013 and then running a dynamic simulation on an assembly consisting of those parts.

In windows you can hold ctrl and select/deselect certain files in windows even though they are not next to each other. View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to select some object from an image using the Magic Wand or the Lasso tools, how do I select just that image without it including unwanted elements, or not including everything I want.
Example, picture of my truck, I want to take the truck out and put it on another image, but everytime I try the wand, it either takes things I don't want, surrounding background elements etc, or doesn't take the whole truck.
I just can't seem to get it to select everything and ONLy what I want. Isn't there a way to just outline on the very outermost regions the element I want?
