Photoshop :: Mouse Lag Delay With Wacom Clintiq
Oct 25, 2013When I start Photoshop my mouse works fine. Then I use the wacom pen of my clintiq hd that works also fine. But using the mouse again, the mouse clicks got a on second delay now. After restarting photoshop the mouse works normal again til I use the wacom pen. One use, and the mouse function is damaged.
Mouse and Pen work best together in other programs like Paint or InDesin. This one second delay of mouse clicks is a Photoshop-Cloud problem. I did not have it in CS3
I deactivated openGL, installed the newest wacom driver, installed the newest graphic card driver.... The whole System is new setted up with Win7.... Nothing worked. It is a Photoshop-Cloud-bug!
Is there a way to set Photoshop back to the start without restarting it? It would be useful to do it with one Click, when I need the mouse after using the wacom pen.

Apr 12, 2013how to turn off the mouse function when the mouse cursor moves over a feature, such as an edge, point, or surface, and highlights it. I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I haven't been able to find any posts recently, or regarding Inventor 2013 specificially on this issue, so I was hoping this version had the option of turning it off. Does any of Autodesk's software, such as AutoCAD, have the option of turning it off?

somewhat new to photoshop (around 6 months of practice) and am getting used to it BUT I have a problem:
up unitl this point I have been mainly editing and tweaking still projects but now I'm trying to get into the animation (for another forum )
I have all the images but when I go to Save for Web, it won't let me change the delay at all from the whip-lash fast 0.2 seconds a frame!
It's great.... I just can't have it going that fast and don't know how to extend the delay ...

Now when I click on a tool, I have to hold my left mouse button down for a short delay. It is very annoying. Anyone know what I can change to fix this? The computer etc didn't change - did a fresh reinstall of cs2. . . Oddly, if I right click a tool - it opens instantly. . . but I never had to do that before.

Also after running Photoshop for some time I start to get a nasty lag. Moving layers, using brushes, everything happens with a 1-2 second delay. Hardware should not be an issue.
If I restart PS lag goes away for a while but always returns. I noticed that closing images doesn't reduce the memory PS is using according to task manager. Every image opened just increases PS memory usage, is this normal?

Oct 30, 2012I am considering a MBP for all my photoshop work. Currently using Photoshop CS6
From 2007-2010 I had my old MBP (late 2006 model). Then in 2011 I was using the 2011 iMac, 2.5ghz, 4gb ram. I sold the iMac as I felt more comfortble with the laptop in terms of working anywhere and anytime. Also for some reason I just strangly enough found the iMac a bit sluggish compared to the smooth performance I had with my old MBP. I mean the iMac is fast, way faster than my old MBP, However I do think that it may have been due to the wireless Bluetooth mouse that I was using.
I run psd files that have a large number of layers and can reach a size of 3-4gb per file while processing and when saved and closed upto 2gb. I rarely use filters, but when i do, its mainly the blur filters and then sometimes the others.

I am considering the 15" MBP base model but bump up the RAM to 8gb... I wish it were more than 8 though... and getting a SSD drive of 128gb... too expensive other wise and this is enough for my work files as I have 2 additional backups on external HDs.and VRam of 512gb with an anti glare display.

I like the size & portability of the 13", but the lack of a dedicated VRAM is putting me off. I could always get an external display later if the need be, however what about VRAM... its shared right? How will that affect CS6 performance?
I would like to really bump up the RAM but the only option i have is 8gb. Also I hope to use this system for another 3-4 years alteast if it does not have any other issues.

Jan 1, 2013Currently, I have a 15" Windows laptop that I've been using CS6 on, and I love it. However, for other, unrelated reasons, I am committed to buying a Mac, and I would like to switch to using it completely.
I'm NOT a gamer, and most of my usage is made up of basic browsing and Word documents (I have A LOT of files to store). I've bought CS6 for Mac, but I need to know what Mac to get. I DON'T want Retina Display (no matter how good it is). My choice is between:
13" MacBook Pro without Retina Display
2.9GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM — 2x4GB
750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
OR
15" MacBook Pro without Retina Display
2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
4GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
...but I don't understand the physical difference between Intel Core or RAM or processing at all. I really like the sleekness and easy-carrying that the 13" provides and it fufills all my other needs, but I don't know how Photoshop will run on it. I use Photoshop mostly for GIFs; school; and home projects; so I don't think my screen has to be too big. Will it work okay, or do I NEED at 15" Mac?

Jun 27, 2013I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8, with 8.0 GB RAM. I'm using Photoshop CS5 and the PerfectResize 7.5 plug-in to create some very large files (1.5-2.0 GB). I enlarged one file, and then checked my RAM availability; of the 8.0 GB RAM, about half was inactive and there was only a sliver of free RAM left. When I went to enlarge a second file, Photoshop was unable to do so because there was insufficient free RAM. When I closed Photoshop, my free RAM increased to 4.0 GB while the inactive RAM dropped to 1.4 GB.
As I understand it, on the Mac, "inactive" RAM is really free RAM, and (as I said) I have 8.0 GB RAM to begin with, so I don't know why I'm getting this error. I have Photoshop's performance preference set to let Photoshop use up to 70% of the RAM, but even at other settings, I couldn't complete the operation.

Nov 5, 2013I have a problem with PhotoShop CC. I also tested PhotoShop CS5 and PhotoShop CS6, having the same problems (last versions of them). Plugins for PhotoShop are not installed.
My System:
Windows 7 64 Bit with SP1 (newest updates german version)
Intel Core i7-4770k CPU 3.5 Ghz
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
GPU: GeForce GTX 760 2048 MB MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC
MainBoard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
Monitor: Asus PB248Q 1920 x 1200 60 Hz (connected with Display Port)
All Drivers (GPU, ChipSet of MainBoard) are up to date.
My Problem is that the Brush or rubber tool is 0,5 to 1 seconds slower than the mouse cursor. The stroke trails behind. But the brush tool still runs smooth and fluently. Its just slower than the mouse. When mouse stops moving, the brush catch up. The brush even trails behind when cursor is moving slow. When cursor is moving faster, sbrush also moves faster, but brush is never as fast as cursor. Only when cursor does not move, brush catch up.
This even happens when simple brushes for example simple round brush with 100 hardness and 10 pixel of size are used.When removing Smooting in brush settings, brush tool become much faster, but not as fast as cursor.This behaviour occurs in 64 and 32 Bit Version of PhotoShop.Also, GPU Settings was changed (Basic, Normal, Advanced), but without results.
When Aero-Surface in windows 7 is disabled, brush tool works much faster, but not smooth and fluently anymore.This also happens when I am working with a document containing only one single layer.I also tested all GPU Settings in PhotoShop (Basic, Normal and Advance), still the same problem.
PhotoShop uses 60% of my Ram (8793 MB)
The strange thing is: When I installed PHotoShop CS5 on my 8 years old computer with Windows XP, Brush tool with same settings was as fast as mouse cursor and it runs really smooth and fluently. The main difference is that my new Computer is using Windows 7, the old one uses Windows XP 32 Bit.

AMd Athlon X2 3700+
2 GB RAM
GeForce 7800 GTX (connected with DVI to monitor)
Can it be that PhotoShop has problems with Aero Surface of Windows 7? Or with Windows 7 64 Bit?

May 24, 2012I own a copy of Photoshop CS6.Switching from Photoshop CS to CS6, I have found this version to be extremely slow and I can not find a reason why it is like this. It is impossible for me to work on it.
Problem: Slow performance, when using the brush tool there is a long delay - lag. The brush takes more than 8 seconds to catch up with my strokes.

Tried:
- Memory usage allowed upgraded to 6GB, nothing changed.
- Default selected "Scratch Disk" is the main SSD which has over 58GB of free space, I've tried selecting the secondary HDD as well but nothing changes.
- Disabled the "Use Graphic Processor" square. nothing changed.
- Disabled the "Use open CL" square in advanced Graphic Processor Settings. Nothing changed.
- Changed power management settings in windows to "High Performance". nothing changed.
- Disabling tablet pc service doesn't work.
Notes:
- Graphic drivers are the latest release on AMD website
- Windows is completely updated
- SSD Firmware is the latest available.
- The issue happens both with mouse and tablet.
- 1px brush and 5000px brush lag just alike in zoomed and not zoomed canvas.
- This happens on both x64 and x86 versions of the software.

May 18, 2012I keep trying to install the trial version of Photoshop CS6 on my macbook pro (version 10.6.8) and I was able to download it fine from the download assistant. Once I tried installing it, however I kept coming up with the same error. First it says that the images couldn't be opened because of an invalid checksum, then if I opt to skip that step it comes up with a window letting me install it which I do but once it hits 44% it jumps to 99% and says installation failed due to an inauthentic certificate, saying "Adobe Genuine Software Verification Failure."
