Sometime when I am using my photoshop to work on a webdesign project, my layers disappear. Not in my composition but in the layers window.
I can make them come back when I use the select tool with Ctrl + click, but only one by one. The only way to avoid this problem is to close my psd file and to reopen it, it is a little bit swelling...
how to solve it?My conf : Mac Book Pro no-retina 15" with BootCamp Windows 8, Photoshop CC.
My layers disappear when I try to save in Photoshop CS6. They disappear when I get to the last step before saving(where you can select the quality and stuff). The effects stay, but they become kind of crappy. I was just working on some pictures one by one, and then suddenly, it started happening. I did nothing differently.Reinstalling didn't work either.
I have photoshop elements 9. When I go to click on a layer to move it, the layer disappears or moves to an obscure location without me moving the cursor. I have tried restarting the program but it does not seem to work.
Ever since the latest update to PS CS6, when I add a simple effect to a text layer, like emboss, the working image disappears when I zoom in and out. Also, the layer effect does nothing to the type. It's almost like a dispay issue. When I turn the layer effect off, my image is visible again.
A lot of times I'll be working on multiple .psd files and as I'm moving between files I'll notice that all the layers & layer comps will disappear from their palette
[URL]
I can bring them back by doing something like clicking on the text tool and then clicking on a text item on the stage. It's annoying because it takes a couple of clicks for the palette(s) to redisplay.
Is this a bug or is there a setting in preferences that can control this?
I created a template and placed it in the Graphic Styles folder. When I use the New command and select the new template from Graphic Styles, the Guide layer disappears. When I double click the template to open it the guides are there. Why is the guide layer getting stripped out when I use the New command? I want to avoid opening from template everytime.
The weird thing is that I had a template that was opening with guides until I made some changes to it. Now it doesn't work either.
The 'Template' checkbox gets activated in Layer Options dialog box, and the box gets closed, then, the Layer name and several icons at the bottom of the Layer Panel disappear. The Layer is still there without a name, and rolling over the icons on the Layers Panel I can see the Tool Icons.Illustrator Prefs were trashed/restored using the Opt-Shift-Command restart shortcut.
I used Photoshop CS6 without problem until now. Now I dont have enought ram , still cpu processing, freezing and delete my UI layout. I cant work with this I have Core2Quad, 8GB ram, GeForce 250 GTS with Windows 8. Latest driver I also tried beta version and older version. Clean settings, disable opengl, reinstal photoshop, install 32 bit of photoshop I tried everything. All my programs (AE, Premiere, Softimage) works perfect. I dont use any plugins. Also tried compatibility mode. Now it looks that I have to reinstall windows.
I have just got done revising a business card that I have printed in the past. The Card was created in Photoshop Cs5. The strange issue is now when I attempt to make it into a pdf so I can combine it with the second side I am partially loosing some of the fills in the text. Here is a copy of the psd
Here is what the pdf looks like notice the missing red in vinyl and in the k of tick. This is what the settings are in the save as menu. The other odd thing is it looks ok if you view the pdf in photoshop but if you view it in Acrobat x professional it starts to lose it's fills.
I'm using Creative Cloud and Photoshop CS6.I work a lot with brushes and actions. Everytime I close Photoshop, all my brushes and actions disappear and every time, I need to upload them onto Photoshop. Over and over again.
When I import a PDF into Photoshop, elements from the PDF disappear. I thought it was because it was a layered file but the same thing happens when I bring a flattened jpeg in.
Yesterday I updated to version 13.0.4 and since I have noticed that the boundaries of textboxes disappear when they are dragged. Previously when i dragged a textbox I could see the boundaries as it was moved and could use that to align the text elements in a grid. Now however, it is only the text that is visible when it is dragged.
Other things I have noticed is that the text cursor itself has changed and is now missing the arrow which previously made it easy to accurately draw text boxes. Aside from that, although not specific to this update but since I have begun using CS6 is the fact that when I try to horizontally resize a text box it takes around a second after hovering over the anchor for the mouse to change to the resize cursor, although when resizing vertically or using one of the corner anchors this does not occur.
These featurest are essential to most of my daily work and are slowing me down considerably. If no solution is available is it possible to revert back to the previous version before I installed 13.0.4?
I have included system info below.
Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0.4 (13.0.4 20130104.r.28 2013/01/04:21:00:00) x64 Operating System: Mac OS 10.7.3 System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:42, Stepping:7 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2
In CS4 when I scroll down items under a menu - eg Filter - last filter, convert to Smart Filters, Extract, Filter Gallery they all disappear from my screen - there just remains a blank screen under the menu filter. If I move out of it - say go to File then back to filter they are all there - until I scroll down again.
The same thing happens on all three blur gallery effects (field blur, iris blur, tilt shift). Once I pick the filter the layer becomes empty. The strange thing is that when I manipulate any of the controls the object appears, but once I stop holding the mousebutton down on the input. The object disappears again. When i apply the settings (enter or the ok buttoon). The layer is empty.
I have used these filters a lot, this just happend suddenly. And I can't fix it. Restart does not work.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 running on MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz i7, osx 10.8.3.
I am using my PC not cloud and had created drop shadows on several objects using the fx feature on the layers palate. When I added drop shadow to last object adjusted the distance to 9 & saved as default. Blending is on multiply still, but shadows no longer appear on all the objects.
What could I have accidentally done to alter all shadows where they no longer appear?
I've got a PC with 12 GB of memory, 9 allocated to PS CS5.A Radeon 5970 video card with 2GB on-board memory.... although CS5 might only accept 1GB.I open 30 files about 200K each, which would put total usage around 6 MB total... let's say 7MB to add a little buffer.
I could process the first 10-12 files. I was just cropping each image to what I needed to do. Nothing was standard, so an action or some other automated process was not a viable option. After each crop, I would save the image and close it out.
About the 13-14 image, as I was starting to crop, the image would just disappear completely so I couldn't crop the image at all.All video drivers and Adobe updates are installed.I could close the program and restart it, and it worked fine. But I shouldn't have to do that.
Working with Wacom Intuos 3 graphic tablet and two screen, my mouse cursor disappears when I go to my second screen. This is just temporary since I only have to switch out of Photoshop and in again and the pointer is back, but since it happens often, it becomes really annoying...
MacOSX 10.7.4, with graphic card ATI Radeon HD 5870
Is there a way to commit layer effects? Every time I try and save a jpeg, png, tiff (without layers), etc. the effects disappear. What causes this and is there a way to fix this?
I am using Photoshop CS5 on a Macbook Pro Retina Mountain Lion. When I use the liquify tool, I want the cursor to NOT display. So I can liquify without seeing the crosshair or circle.
I am using PS CS6 13.0.1..When I use the selection tool, any selection tool, the image disappear.I tried to disable GPU but that did not work, nor did starting in safe mode without any plug-in.I find myself turning Photoshop On & Off several times until it is resolved. Sometime it may take even 15 times to turn on/off until resolved.
I'm rather puzzled with what happened to my Photoshop, i'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 on a Windows 7 64 bit Notebook.when i'm in the office, it's docked at its station and connect to a larger monitor (via standard VGA plug on the dock) and i use both monitor (not closing the lid on the notebook) today, i had a spare monitor around that i can use, i plug it through the Displayport plug on the dock, it's all working fine, all three monitor display the desktop.
but when i load up photoshop, making new files or opening existing files, there is nothing in the screen although the layer panel shows there is something there.when i unplug the new monitor, everything back to normal.
The thumbnails in my Organizer are slow to load, and if I move the slider bar to the left to show more thumbnails they are replaced with the hourglass, and the comment 'building thumbnails' appears bottom left. The thumbnails do not reappear unless I increase the size to five columns or less.
I have disabled media analysis in preferences; I have run a repair on the catalogue; I have selected all the photos and selected 'update thumbnail'. None of this has worked.
I am running PE9 on a Mac, and have about 20,000 photos in my catalogue.
It has been reported and reproduced by Support, an issue whereby Photoshop .PSD files disappear when they’re saved to a network file share. Upon initial investigations Support have observed the following behaviour when saving a Photoshop file.
The document is initially saved as a new file on the file share. The original .PSD file is deleted on the file share. The newly created file is renamed to the same name as the original file.
An issue often arises when steps 1 and 2 complete however step 3 fails. When a file is reported by users as having disappeared, the new file created in step 1 can be renamed from .00_ to the original *.PSD file name on the server as the *.00_ files are normally hidden by the desktop operating system. This allows people to see and open the file from both PC’s and MAC’s using AFP and SMB protocols.
A related issue often reported by users is that they receive an error message “Could not save as” when trying to save a .PSD file. Troubleshooting the issue confirms that the user is able to save the file if they perform a “Save As” operation in Photoshop.
From the reported problems and observations there is clearly an issue with how Photoshop performs a file save operation further exacerbated by the fact the process doesn’t fail safely.
I just started working with Photoshop, so I might be making some stupid rookie mistake...but I can't figure out what the hell could be wrong.
When I draw something on a dark background it just vanishes as soon as I fill the area with the paint bucket!
If I have a dark grey background, and draw something in black using the brush, when I try to fill the drawing, for instance green, with the paint bucket, the entire picture becomes green! It was as if the drawing was never there.
At first I thought I had some wierd setting on my brush, but the wierd thing is that this only happens when I use dark colors. Doing the exact same thing with yellow and red, works perfectly fine.
when i open photoshop elements 11 my thumbnails are displayed but then they quickly turn into an hourglass and then disappear and turn into a torn/ripped/broken page/photo icon.. i have tried refreshing, updating thumbnail, repairing cache, erasing cache, unistalling and reinstalling.. even tried too import same folder of photos on tw different computers and had the same problem. also, i can see the humbnails in windows explorer so i know the files are not corrupt or damaged.
