Photoshop :: Importing Into IPhoto After CS And Bridge
Jul 9, 2013
I have moved from a PC using PS7 to edit and ACDSee to manage my photos. I am now on the latest iMac using CS6 to edit and Bridge to manage my photos. Many of my photos started out as scans by ScanCafe.
I can successfully load into Bridge an old photo file that started as a scan then was renamed by ACDSee ( and possible editied by PS7). i can also further edit the photo in CS6 and rename in Bridge. However, when I try to import the result into iPhoto (I want to use Faces) the file name is not properly picked up by iPhoto and called a Title. I can successfully import the original file (scan plus ACDSee rename) and iPhoto pickes up the Title from the file name.
When this doesn't work properly, I can slect the photo in iPhoto and click on Info but the Title field is blank on the top RHS of the screen. If I scroll over the blank title, a pop-up shows the correct Title. So there appears to be a disconnect as the file is passed between these software packages.
I'm trying to import my photo collection (17000+) from iphoto to Elements organizer and am getting problems: The directory structure created becomes incredibly complex (many folders that include only 1 picture and many duplicates) and the worst of all is that many pictures get now as a date the new daten when they were imported. Is there a way to keep their original dates instead?
just installed Photoshop Elements 11 on my Mac OS X. Everytime I try to import photos from iPhoto the import process will go through until it is almost finished, then a notification will pop up saying that the import failed. Once I click "OK" on that dialogue box a new box will pop up saying that a few (6) pictures were unable to be imported for various reasons, but that the rest of my pictures were imported. I am then unable to find any pictures anywhere in Photoshop Elements. I have tried to import photos 7 or 8 times with the same result everytime.
I'm a Mac user new to elements. When I imported my photos from iPhoto the events didn't import with them and it's impossible to find the photos I want.
I have been using iPhoto and have almost filled my laptop's memory. I want to transfer my photos (because I have many shot in RAW) to Adobe Photshop Elements 10. How do I impost one event (from iPhoto) at a time to Photshop? I was unable to transfer the entire library.
I am trying to import my iPhoto library into Elements. It gets part way through the process and then tells me that the import failed and provides the following message:
2090 Media files have been imported. 19 Media files were not imported because the either already present in the catalog or are not supported.
Am running iphoto 9.5 on macbook pro. Installed Elements 11 onto macbook and although I have sucessfully managed to import all my photos into the "organiser" all the carefully catergorised "Events"in iphoto have imported as just a selection of namesless files as oppossed to "Albums"
I am a new Mac user - recently insalled Photoshop elements 9 and tried to import my photos which are all in iPhoto at the moment into the organiser. I went via the 'Get files > import from iPhoto' menu and I keep getting a messsage tab saying 'no suitable media'.
I clicked the share in iPhoto and also tried via the getting files directly route (you only get the 'iPhoto library' that way not the individual files - any combo of clicking wont seem to let me see the files there).
I am just starting to use Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer. I do not want to import my entire iPhoto library however, so how can I import ONLY ONE or a select group of events or albums?
Would there be any difference in importing images from the latest iPhoto into the older version of LR2, then when I upgrade to the latest LR would there be any issues with those (iPhoto) images imported into LR2 into the newer LR?
When I import photos using iPhoto or Aperture, I get an option to delete them off the camera when the import completes. That feature is really useful when there are deveral hynred photos in memory. How do I accomplish the same thing using Lightroom 4?
I've got the PS CC on a new computer and want the bridge workspace to be the same as on my other computer. I can't find the little file of my workspace. Wher does adobe store that? I don't want to do it again, it's tedious and I won't remember all the settings. On a Mac. .
When I bring an image from bridge into photoshop CS5 the image sometimes (more than I would like) breaks up into multiple images in the same window. (see attached example). It was suggested that my video driver may need updating but on checking I have the latest drivers!
This problem has only been happening for about a month and everthing was working fine before that. Im running win7pro 64 bit and am running photoshop from my ssd drive. The display driver is a Nvidia Geforce 240 which again has been fine previously. Would it be worth unistalling/reinstalling the program, just a thought!
Bridge CS6 always stops importing the files from my D800 via USB 3.0 after exactly 6 jpg files are transferred. In mixed nef+jpg as well as in jpg only mode. No matter if CF only or SD only or both cards are used. No problem with .nef only.To change the target directory to another SSD or HD makes no difference.
But at the same USB 3.0 ports (I tried them all), no problem whatsoever to do the transfer via Windows Explorer. So I guess it must be something with Bridge and USB3.0 and jpgs from the D800.System is a brand new W7Ultimate64 on an IvyBridge Z77 platform.
I am new to Lightroom. I have been using Bridge and Photoshop since CS3. I have my own system to name and place folders into Windows My Pictures. I also do Batch renames for images in each folder I upload, including a name and date on the folder of images, which is placed in a folder that is labelled by year. This works nicely for me. But when I open Lighroom and try to import by going to my C drive, and finding the folders, it does not import where I would like it to, does not carry over the information, and in fact, makes a duplicate folder in Windows My Picture. How do I get it to import exactly what I have done in Bridge?
purchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop.
While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash...
In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...
After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.
Whenever I try to open the Brushes panel, the Bridge window pops up. I know that Bridge is a media manager, so I'm not sure why is it opening. I really need to edit the brushes and I can't find a way to do it. Is there a way to disable bridge or another way to open the brushes panel that won't open bridge?
Okay I've just purchased Photoshop Elements 11. I am knew to photoshop and I have a couple of questions. First, when I transfer my files from iphoto will I be taking up double the space on my computer by having them in both iphoto and photoshop? Second, when I edit pictures is it possible to save the original photo I'm working with?
I transferred my iPhoto collection into Elements 11 and the process went smoothly. However, the photos are all mixed up and not according to dates. Is this normal?
