Photoshop :: How To Set White Point In Levels Using A Different Photo
Apr 21, 2012
I'm taking shots of some furniture I made. I get the shot all set up and the exposure correct for what I want, then I take an 'extra' shot with a gray and a white calibration card in the scene. Now I have two identical shots except that one has the calibration cards.
My question is: how to I select the white (and gray) levels from the calibration shot and then use that data to set the white (and gray) levels in the good shot. I had done this many years ago in CS3, but I don't remember the process.

I've got a cut./fill plan with red and green surface spot level labels (derived via a grid) but wonder if there is a way to make the decimal point coincident with the with "X" marker.

As there is some confusion with the colorspace used with the Sigma SPP software when creating so-called "ProPhoto" 16-bit tiff files for the Merrill-based sensors cameras, and I am contemplating using Lightroom just for LOCA correction, as some seem to imply it works well in comparison to the SPP 5.5.1 equivalent corrections, I'd like to confirm that Lightroom's expectations in terms of photometric interpretation(s).
1) D65 illuminant ==> what are the white point coordinates of Melissa RGB ? (Plankian ?)
2) Gamma ==> is it sRGB or gamma 2.2 or anything else ?
3) Can you elaborate on the metadata (EXIF & tags) used by LightRoom to get the Sigma Merrill SPP 16-bit TIF SPP format photometric data ?
4) What's the closest to Melissa RGB : ERIMM, RIMM or ROMM ?

There was an error code in downloading the update for CS6 ....U44MIP7...Also, in filter - render - lighting ...there is no HUD point, so the light point cannot be moved around the photo.

I use Memories on TV to make picture montages. Some times when I make a opening picture in Photoshop like a title or some thing. I get a white edge around two side of the first image of the slide show. I found a action one time that was to remove that. Does anyone here know where I can get this action or a different way to remove this white edge?

How do I take a black and white photo and turn the background white into a color of my choice? I know that I can change the foreground (black) with monotone, but I want to change the white (inverting the image would just invert the problem, so it's no help). The text is too complex to mask or fill bit by bit. There must be a simple way to convert white to another color, but I am at a loss. I would be happy to include a file

how i would remove a background from a picture, and turning it white, leaving only the person in the foreground unchanged. I can think of some pretty simple ways, but im looking for a way that makes a seamless transition from the orginal person in the picture to the white background without any jagged lines.

What I have is a photo of a classroom with pupils seated and teachers standing against a large windows on one side of the room.
The photo was taken pointing towards the windows so that the pupils near the camera are perfectly exposed but the ones nearest the window are too light and faded out.
I'm sure I read a tutorial some time ago about dealing with this type of thing but I can't find it anymore.

I want to covert a color photo into black and white but bring back a certain color. How many ways are there to do this? Which method is the most professional (as in provides the most professional finished product) I've read about doing it using the paint brush to bring back the color, also the color selection tool.
The particular image I'm trying to achieve this on is not so simple. The part I want to bring color back into is a dripping pink ice cream, so there are small drips and blobs, often with fair skin color in the background. Ice cream is dripping down face and hands and body and I want to preserve these details accurately. The bits I need to bring back aren't large blocks of color so I'm finding it very difficult to achieve a professional look.
