This is a perfectly fine example of a feature that was great and was removed during an update. What is really the point of an update that removes features, I don't know... surely it's not the weight of the script! (900ko)

Jul 16, 2009I have been trying to install the optional plug-in to the Photoshop extended software but somehow a series of error occurs when trying to start up the photosop program (see error pictures). As I am not sure which plug-in folders (32- bit or 64 bit) to install,
so i copied all the files from the folders (32- bit and 64 bit)Â from the installation disk, under Goodies folder, and paste to the program file/adobe/photoshopCS4/pulg-in. During the pasting process, it prompted me to overwrite the existing files with the ones I paste, so I overwrite them.
Then, I start up the photoshop software, and it prompted me a series of errors.What should I do to remove the errors? Did I installed it the wrong way?I wanted to get the 'Extract' function in photoshop but the function is not in the photoshop extended (CS4) as it had in photoshop CS2 before.

Aug 30, 2012Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
Photoshop :: CS5 - Can't Save JPG (File Locked Or No Necessary Access Privileges)?
Apr 18, 2012I am having this message display EVERY time I try and save something in my newly installed Photoshop (cs5) "Could not save "filename.jpg” because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to unlock the file or change permissions on the file or enclosing folders.
I have tried Uninstalling and reinstalling after resetting permissions, I have tried saving the file under a new name, I have tried adding a new admin... nothing seems to work and my Illustrator is working seamlessly!??
Photoshop :: Could Not Open Scratch File Because No Necessary Access Privileges
May 22, 2012When I try to open photoshop I get the following message "Could not open a scratch file because you do not have the necessary access privileges". I click OK and get "Could not open Photoshop because you do not have the necessary access privileges". It then closes.
My CS4 Illustrator opens fine. Photoshop opened just fine 2 days ago.
I tried to open Indesign and that just crashes immediately (but I have never opened Indesign before...).
The only thing I can think of that might be relevant is that my computer was stolen about 6 months ago - when I got a replacement computer I simply reinstalled the same CS4.

Dec 31, 2008I just installed Photoshop CS2 on Windows Vista and registered it using my serial number, but when I open the program to use it, a window pops up telling me "You are not allowed to continue because your account does not have the proper privileges. Pleases log in using an account with administrator privileges and try again."
The problem is that it's my personal laptop and I'm the only user (or administrator for that matter) on it. Why isn't it accepting that? I tried asking Microsoft for answers but they said to ask the Adobe Support team. I called technical support but they don't do CS2 anymore. Anybody have answers?

Every time I save as a PDF I get 2 error messages:
This file does not have a program associated with it to perform this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default program control panel.
Then this comes up after as an additional message;
This service does not have sufficient privileges, please reinstall.
This has only started happedning since the adobe update.

This error is reported when attempting to save an illustrator file over an existing file with the same name. Yes saving it to the desktop and then copying it over the file on the shared drive works. This is not a solution for us. Full access has been granted to the user on the network share being used.

Feb 25, 2013There seems to be a glitch in AutoCAD with allowing another user to access a drawing that someone already has open. Most of the time , it will not allow this and will correctly give the message that someone is already in the file and give the option of opening file as read only.
There have been a few times though that someone will not be prevented from accessing the file and the read and write privileges will be transferred to the new user that opened the file last. How do we prevent this from happening??

We have components that avaialable in both 304 and 316. We have seperated stock codes for each of the selections what I would like to do is to come up with a way that I don't need multiple models of these features. The deisgns are virtually the same except for the material change.
In previous cad systems I used a tabled system in the model that would allow you to vary paramters such as Iproperties or even dimensions in one model.
This elimated duplication of work includeing double maintenance for the models?

Jul 8, 2013Back in 2010, I created several optional properties in pipes for labeling purposes.
The file I modified is: AeccPartParamCfg.xml
I have migrated this file to 2011, 2012, 2013 without any issue. In 2014, I am getting a run time error for one of the optional properties and therefore that option is no longer working.
Created optional properties and run into problems in 2014? Works fine in all my previous releases of Civil 3D using the same parameter file.
Attached is the Parameter file and error at start up.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Part Catalog Optional Parameter Not Showing Up?
Nov 3, 2013In 2013, I had an optional part parameter for pipes called "Velocity", and it worked fine. We use a network catalog, and I was trying to use the same part catalog for 2014, but it gave me a Runtime Part Parameter Configuration Error for the Parameter Name "VEL". So I copied the "Pipes Catalog" folder from my C drive for 2014 and pasted it to the network. I then revised the AeccPartParamCfg.xml in the AeccShared Content folder with the same information as I had in the previous network catalog.
Specifically, I added the following line in the xml file
"<AeccDfParameter name="VEL" desc="Velocity" context="FlowVelocity" index="0" datatype="Float" usage="Double_General" unit="" visible="True" internal="True"/>"
and further down in the xml file under
" <AeccParamUsage>
<AeccPartDomainCfg domain="Pipe_Domain">"
I added the line "<AeccOptParam context="FlowVelocity"/>"
see the attached image 1-Old AeccPartParamCfg xml file.JPG to see images from the xml file.
I got the same error when I opened C3D 2014. I added an underscore between Flow and Velocity for context, and it worked! (See attachment 2-Revised AeccPartParamCfg xml file.JPG)
So C3D 2014 opens without the error. I click on Part Builder and click on RCP (formerly Concrete Pipe from OOTB part catalog) under pipes. I right click on Size Parameters and click "Add..." which takes me to the New Parameter dialog box as seen in attachment 3.JPG. It shows three of the optional properties I have added: Pipe Classification, Friction Slope, and Velocity.
I add these three optional properties and edit their configurations as seen in attachment 3.JPG. I give Friction Slope and Velocity both a range of 0 to 1000 with a default of 0.
I create a new parts list and add the part family RCP. I click to add part sizes and get the final dialog box on attachment 3.JPG. Velocity doesn't show up! Pipe Classification and Friction Slope show up, but no velocity!
I have tried deleting the 'VEL" line in the xml file, copying the "FSL" line and pasting and revising it for velocity, but that didn't work. I tried switching the FSL and VEL lines in the xml file to see if FSL would disappear and VEL would appear, but that had no effect.

Jan 31, 2012In the drawing environment, is it possible to use the same file to show a client (example) option a or option b from the file? Meaning, can I create a separate side by side view in the idw using the same assembly file, but in different suppressed states? Or how does this work specifically? Right now all I have done is saved out the file with the different suppressed state showing, but this became obviously cumbersome quickly since the parts are similar and keep updating, thus forcing me to create yet even more optional files. I'm thinking that iLogic could be a possible fix.

Mar 14, 2013I have CS2 Premium which I'm running on an older PowerPC Mac (G5 - Dual 2.3 GHz ) running OS 10.4.11. I've had this setup for many many years (registered/activated with Adobe) but suddenly one day I could no longer launch my Photoshop app: when I clicked on the Pshop icon it would start the launch (open) procedure ... and then almost instantly it would quit (in just a few seconds ... before the application even got to the 'title/credit' screen).
I've recently tried uninstalling CS2 (everything except Acrobat) and I ended up doing a manual uninstall of Version Cue. I've been on Macs for 20+ years so figured this would be a pretty straightforward procedure - uninstall -> reinstall and then back to work. Nope.
I'm attempting a fresh installation direct from the original CS2 CDs. In any event, when I try to (re)install CS2 - and after going through the standard screens with Adobe's usage terms agreement and installation hard disk selection - I arrive at the screen where one selects which application(s) to install by checking the various boxes (or alternately, to install the entire suite) but the 'Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2' line and checkbox are grayed out, so it will not allow me to check them and continue with the Photoshop installation process.

Oct 9, 2013I own Design and web Premium CS6 and Lightroom 5.2 running with NIK and Canon Printer iPF9100 plugins running just fine on a Win7 machine.
I purchased and installed PhotoShop CC about a month ago/ When I start PhotoShop CC from the exec file the NIK and Canon plugins do not show up. If I am in Lightroom and ask to edit in PhotoShop CC the file opens in PhotoShop CC and I can access both plugins. If I am in Lightroom the NIK plugin is available and works just fine.
