View 3 Replies View RelatedI have made a selection on my photo and erased the background making it transparent. Now when I fill the background with white, I see portions of my original background showing through. How can I easily reselect the background and erase properly? When I use with the Quick Selection or Magic Wand tool, it doens't select all of the transparent background. I seem to remember a tip where I used another feature of CS5 that darkened the transparent background so much that it was eay to erase the missed background.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have CS6. Having trouble removing a background where part of the backgrouond is almost exactly the same color as the subject's hair. I've tried the refine edge tool- I get yucky greyed areas in the one spot where the hair & the similar background color meet. I have tried to use channels, but I am not very skilled in that yet.

I would like to remove the background from that. I read few tutorials but they have one color(shades of color) background and quite good contrast. They make hair white and bg. black. But in my image some hair are black and some white and they overlap each other. I found great plugin to Photoshop named Topaz Remask 3, but I haven´t PS.
I've been trying to use the Eraser Tool to erase a background sky and it won't erase. The Alpha Channel is turned on, the Selection Tools work, but the eraser does nothing.
View 8 Replies View Relatedwhat I'm doing right now is trying to erase the background of many different photos and combine them (as different layers) into one image. I finished two layers and just as I was about get going on my third layer, I made a mistake and did something to the threshold. I didn't remember what I had it on (well, it was on the default setting) so i put it back to 141 and decided to continue with my work. but then I realized that I couldn't select anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny method in GIMP that can be used for cutting out flowing "Blonde" hair from a Multicoloured background using the "Channels". It seems that it can be done using Photoshop, but there do not seem to be any tutorials around for GIMP. There are heaps for cutting out dark coloured hair from all sorts of backgrounds but nothing to cut out flowing blonde hair from a multicoloured background.
View 13 Replies View Relatedtrying every layer mask combo I could think of to create a realistic shade of white hair that doesn't look like I just used the brush tool to make it.
I've tried lighting up the shadows with the curves option then using the selective color option. But all that does is make a very fake looking film to put over the eyebrows (ya it's eyebrows I'm working on, I'm trying to get them to match a white wig the subject is wearing.)
I've also tried using the solid color option, and a color overlay and that just came out weird.
Has anyone ever turned pitch black hair to white and had it still look like hair?
I need to remove a picture of a horse in the background and replace it with a picture of a fence similar to the rest of the picture. I know how to erase the image using the lasso tool and the magic wand. How do I clone part of the background to replace the erased image and then blend the two pictures together?

My friend has taken some engagement photographs and unfortunately the couple have dark hair and the background is also dark - I think you can see her problem with the photos. Somehow the background needs to be lightened and neither of us know how (we both have Photoshop 7)

And i would select the hue layer, and just use the erase tool and it would remove that specific hue in that area... Well now i will not do that anymore. I must have checked some box on accident or somthing. when i select the eraser tool and the hue layer, it shows the eraser circle on the picture, but it will not erase anything...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed CS2, and I can only use the eraser tool to erase if what I'm erasing is inside a selection. Otherwise I click and try to erase but nothing erases. Even when I drop selection (ctrl D) and there is NO selection, I still can not erase. I have to select all (ctrl a) in order to erase anything in the workspace.

I have this picture, of course a jpeg, so the quality sucks, and i'm having problems selecting the two girls' hair. It blends into the background to where i almost have an impossible time seeing it at all but if i just cut it out it doesn't look natural anymore.
