As a digital art teacher I need to check the files my students submit for authenticity. I noticed that since the last 2 CS Suite upgrades the "File info" functionality is no longer available (File>File Info). When I open a student file and I select this option, a blank window appears. I cannot click out of it so I have to do a "Force Quit" and restart the application. I work with Photoshop and Illustrator. I need to be able to see who created the file and when the file was created. How do I restore functionality? Is there a plug-in I need now? I work on a Mac in CS Suites 5.1
Among my many complaints with CS4 is the inability to cut and paste within the file info entry window in Bridge in CS4. I was able to in CS3. My expectations for Adobe are very low these days, but no longer having the cut and paste function is ridiculous. Practically every piece of software out there allows it. When I'm having to enter a lengthy caption with difficult to spell foreign locations, cut and paste used to make data entry a lot easier. Why was the feature deleted from CS4?
When I go to customize and drag "View image file" to a toolbar, although it says "view image file" on the toolbar it is in black, and doesn't work when clicked on. This is the case on at least 2 entirely different systems.
I've just started a new job, and I'm on a PC with CS6. (I'm used to Mac, CS5)
I can't seem to get 'open recent file' to work in any of my CS6 programes It is always greyed out and never remembers what I've last done. Does it have something to do with the files being stored on a passworded server?
I am using LR 4.3. I added keywords to my pictures. Some keywords got synonyms. I also checked "export synonyms" in the keyword options. When pressing Strg-S to save meta date into the files (all JPEG) all keywords are stored but without synonyms. When doing a normal export then synonyms are saved directly in the JPEG.
Is there a way to save the synonyms also with Strg-S or do I have to export all pictures and re-import them into LR? To be honest that would be not what I expect from a good software.
Thus far I have just one Layer. I went to Window > Layer so that the pallete would be open. However, there's no information in it. Only when I move it does the layer info show up.I've never had this problem before. All I did was create a New Layer > Drew Circle > added a Gradient and then went to look at the layers pallete but nothing.
What to do to turn it back on. Also, I have tried shutting down Illustrator, tried a New File and have shut down my pc but nothing seems to bring back the info in the layers palette.
Lightroom 5 doesn't any longer show GPS info from canon 6D in imported rawfiles. This regards MacOS-version. It works in iPhoto and in Lightroom 5 for Windows 8!
I used to be able to just open any image and my copyright info would be inserted into the file data. I guess it was a droplet, "when the file is opened or created then add file info from a xmp file". I still have the xmp file with all the data in but i am unsure how to implement it being automatically opened and added to the file when i create a new one? I thought i could handle it, i assume its a droplet of some sort.
After I save a file for "Web & Devices," when I open it, it returns this message, "This file contains file info data which cannot be read and has been ignored." Will this cause any problem with the file once I place it in the website I'm building? I've never seen this message before on a photo I've edited. The changes I made involved color correction.
The PS I downloaded from CC doesn't work -- no illumination and some other functions -- I deactivated and re-uploaded -functions and then crashed agian -- computer is new and shouldn't be the problem.
Firstly - when I create a document at 48x48 at 72ppi, it comes out as you would expect, 48x48 on a screen. However if I enter 48x48 and try to enter 326ppi, it doesn't adjust the canvas size at all.
Also when I have my 48x48 72ppi document open and go to image > image size, and adjust only the ppi to 326...it does nothing! What should be happening is the canvas become 72:326 ratio larger to reflect the new ppi, or in other words, make the canvas size larger in proportion to this so when you take your new 326ppi image to the iphone it is retina at 48x48...however this is clearly not happening.
In Photoshop CS2, I select Help > How to fix and enhance photos > to touch up spots, scratches, and wrinkles. Instead of help on that, Adobe Help Center 2.1 shows up with nothing in it.
Modifying the "file info" for a gif file (in my case, "General" tab, "Document Title" and "Description") doesn't actually get saved with the file - or, at least, if it is saved, it's not visible when re-opening the file.
I believe that I understood that metadata for .png format isn't supported, but I thought that .gif was. (Test case is easy: open .gif file, add a Title and Description, save, and re-open - information is gone).
I need to install a custom one that is working for CS5 and CS6, so that it can be seen and used in CC. But I don't know where to put it? (on the Mac)
for CS5 it goes here:
Main 3.0: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/3.0/panels/ User 3.0: /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/3.0/panels
for CS6 it goes here:
Main 4.0: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/4.0/panels/ User 4.0: /Users/[userName]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/4.0/panels
- Scratch files seem to be created even in 64 bit Photoshop with plenty of unused memory, so they are apparently not regular swap/page files. What sort of data Photoshop CS4 writes to them and why isn't this information kept in memory instead?
- Do scratch file writes/reads occur at the same time as operating system paging? Is there any practical reason not to put PS scratch disk and OS paging file on the same physical drive?
- Do scratch files benefit more from higher bandwidth or faster seek time?
- What is the typical ratio for Photoshop CS4 for reads and writes to scratch files?
I have an old version of the creative suite that is all right for what I do (information for a charitable organisation for medical research) installed in 2008. For quite a while now every once in a while when I start up I get a screen asking me to register. But since I already am registered Adobe just said to click on later and go on working. But this morning the screen is empty so I can't click anywhere. I've tried restarting and even turning off the computer and trying to restart my day.
i have photoshop extended CS6 since yesterday and today when i was going to save an animation, go to file- save for web, this appears "the operation could not be completed".
OpenCL doesn't seem to work for me. I have it checked in prefs, have the latest drivers, and a GeForce GTX 660M. Yet when I run an iris blur filter, it's extremely slow, and only uses 1 CPU. Under System Info, it lists the video card and OpenCL 1.1.
I've just upgraded to Photoshop CS6, and did the update to v13.04. Get a message with Save for Web: "The operation could not be completed. A write permissions error has occurred." There is a bug fix for v12 for exactly this, but CS5.5 (not sure which version of 12 it was) worked fine on this machine. On a Macbook 17 inch running OSX 10.7.5 with 8gig Ram and 2.5 Ghz I7.
When I tried to add text it doesn't really work. For example: Let's say I type in "Whats your name?" It won't show I typed unless I go click on a different tab and then go back to it. And the question mark will be in the front instead of in the back. And if I try to erase it, it won't erase.
I have a Geforce 8600M GT in my Macbookpro 10.6.8 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Core with 4GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. I tried using it for 3D in PS6 but it doesn't seem to be 'enabled' and OpenGl unavailable. In the preferences in PS it states that graphics hardware unavailable and that I should upgrade my driver or card but on the adobe specifications for PS6 my card seems to comply and I can't find anything to update.
how to overcome the horribly sluggish load time for photoshop CC?That is, when the app loads, it takes at least a minute before I can load a file, most of the time 2-3 minutes.I am running a quad processor 2.4GHz computer/8G ram that's less than 6 months old. Seriously adobe... This is ridiculous.
It seems like all your content works similarly too. the "Creative Cloud" app is something of a joke. Takes 2 minutes to load, andother minute or 3 to show info, and when an app needs an update, well, jsut look out. You're in for a long wait while adobe chugs along at 1980s connection speeds. (I am on a 24 down 7 up connection, there's no excuse)
