cropped up with my Photoshop 7 program. It seems that the new images I create suddenly cannot be viewed in my webpages or with any program other than photoshop or microsoft photo editor. The workaround I have used the last couple of days is to create the image in photoshop then open and save it in microsoft photoeditor and it works fine. Is this a problem that would be fixed by reinstalling my photoshop program or is there another problem?
View 5 RepliesEditing jpeg files with Photoshop Elements 10 corrupts the files so they cannot be viewed on a TV, how do I rectify this - the software as it stands is completely useless as I want to present slideshows to a number of people simultaneously via the TV. On initial use this didn't happen but it does now even after we reinstalled the programme.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI use and love Lightroom. Currently on 4.x Here is the problem. Suddenly many of my images are being corrupted. They seem to acquire a colorful striped pattern. Sometimes it happens on import, sometimes not for a few weeks. You will be looking at the filmstrip, and actually watch them be redrawn with the error. When I import the same raw file into another program (FastStone), I am able to see it properly and export it to jpeg. With LR, the export maintains the corruption. I have tried it on two different hard drives with the same results. I don't think its a hardware issue. I am attaching two sample images. One processed with FastStone, the other with LR. I had to use paint application to shrink them to an uploadable size, but they do represent the problem correctly.

Some believe that files containing images that have been placed in containers become corrupt, leading to exceptionally slow file-open and PDF-publishing times (up to 5 minutes). Is this a culprit?
Do they always need to be Converted to Bitmap after clipping?
Random files are being corrupted in my library. Sometimes the preview image is corrupted sometimes not. But upon export images are being corrupted as well so I cannot export certain images anymore for anything because they get corrupted everytime.
I have installed the updates etc I keep my main librarys on a external drive. Im on a fairly new imac.

We're seeing an issue when exporting in H.264 (High Quality) and playing in QuickTime 10.0 (Mac OS 10.6). We are using a custom size video to fit a spot on our website (398x498). When exported and played in QuickTime 10.0 the white inverts throughout the video (back and forth). The same issue is not seen when viewed in VLC, QuickTime 10.1 Chrome, Firefox, Flash or IE.
We are also NOT seeing the same issue when we export the same video to a different custom size (336x596). Those videos play normal in QT10.0. And lastly we're NOT seeing this issue when exporting as QuickTime/JPEG2000 format.
the issue is very specific to QuickTime 10.0 on Mac 10.6. VLC, Flash, Chrome, FireFox all play it correctly.
I'm just testing out the PS CS6 trial version and something weird is happening. Suddenly my .psd got "corrupted" although it's not a big file with many layers. So I want to know if there's some general incompatibility with my rig and PS CS6 (coming from the GIMP world) or it's like that PS6 just screwed for no reason the .psd file (URL....)

I've had this very strange phenomenon occurring in a PSD I've been working on for a long while. I go to edit text and it randomly appears as text from another layer in the document. I tried a bunch of font workarounds, tested the fonts elsewhere, made sure everything was copacetic that way, and then finally found this article:[URL}...
In the article it tells me I have to recreate my PSD, using only "raster layers", and discarding ALL text and Vector shape layers. Probably 90% of my PSDs are built using type and vector layers these days. There's some raster elements, they pale by comparison to the vector stuff though.
So, I'm writing to find out if there's any better a resolution in the works? Adobe? My PSD is for a web site with 8 sections.Each section has between 10-30 layers, most of which are text and vector content. Plus the navigation, all of which is text, and there are three states for each built in layers, so 24 layers of navigation states alone. I mean, the document has hundreds of hours into it at this point probably and you're telling me the solution is to recreate it is, well, stunning.
I have just noted that I cannot single click on entities to open properties or double click on text to launch text editor. The facility has just stopped of its own accord.
There have been no crashes or changes to my systems. No-one else uses this station or this software in my office so how can these things just go wrong by themselves?
I checked options and mouse config and nothing seems to be out of place there.

But I've added some color correction and some of my clips seem to be rendering out corrupted once the effects are applied. If I toggle the effects off it goes away, but toggling them on again and it's back. I've restarted the machine several times and the corruption reoccurs in the same spots. Is there a cache that I need to toss? When I rerender or export the the file the corruption remains.The effects I'm using are basic, auto color, fast color corrector, and brightness & contrast. here's what it looks like.

I'm running Lightroom 4.1, but this issue has been present since Lightroom 3.0 using two different, modern ATI Graphics cards, same Sandy Bridge PC.
On any image, shot with any camera, after a few minutes the info display (image information) and the surrounding area will corrupt. It looks like there's a rectangular box about the width of the image and the height of the info display, where the border of the rectangle is made up of bits of the image, hope that makes sense.
Anyway, pressing "I" to cycle through the info display removes the corruption, but then it returns a few minutes later.
Have some photos of a warehouse fire in Plymouth Indiana. Files were saved as .jpg Can't get them to open.
One message is "Pain't cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file or it's format is not currently supported." Couldn’t display DSC-0023.jpg because a suitable graphics importer could not be found.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.

Could not place the document ‘IMG_1664.MOV’ because no parser or file format can open the file.
The video was shot on my iphone 4S and ive even tried converting to other formats yet Photoshop still gives the same error. I have checked through Bridge and I have no option to send to Photoshop on the right click menu. try out the new features of CS6 for video editing.
I am running a 27" iMac with 12gb RAM and 1gb of Video RAM.

We got several image files every 2 weeks which should be edited and mainly reduced in size for web purpose. This work needs 1 work day for one man/woman to do, because he/she has to open the file save for web and then set the quality to a value were the file is nearly about 150-200 KB in size.
The images are different, some have few colors, some have a lot of colors and there are also different in resolution. But they should not be reduced in resolution, only in quality. All other specs of the image should be kept
Is there any possible script, plug-in or similar which can do the same (Saving with a specific max. file size) in some automatic and faster way?
I used to be able to just open any image and my copyright info would be inserted into the file data. I guess it was a droplet, "when the file is opened or created then add file info from a xmp file". I still have the xmp file with all the data in but i am unsure how to implement it being automatically opened and added to the file when i create a new one? I thought i could handle it, i assume its a droplet of some sort.

I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?
