Photoshop Elements :: Import Different Photos With Same File Number?
Feb 11, 2014
How can I import photos with the same file number (they are different photos but Elements seems to treat them as duplicates.) I already unchceked the preference box that would prevent duplicate photos from being imported, but it hasn't worked.
I am trying to reduce the file size on a large number of jpeg photo's for unsertion into Windows Movie Maker. How do I compress the slides in a batch job? Can I do it in Photoshop Elements?
I have a file on my hard drive that I want to import into PE 10. Is it possible to import a file containing 300+ photos into PE10 at one time? I can only find a way to import photos one by one.
Is there an easy way to send these photos to Blogger?
I cannot find anywhere in Photoshop Elements where it tells the total of photographs I have in my collection. The old version told this number in the lower right hand corner. Is there somewhere in this newer version where I can find how many photos I have without having to count them?
I have used PSE 9 and there was a line at bottom that told the total number of photos in the Organizer. I now have PSE 11 and I can find no such line, and I have not found a way to tell the total number of photos in my Organizer. Where is this information hidden?
I am trying to import photos from my computer to Photoshop elements 11. It has imported most but wont import some as "file quality is too high". How do I get around this? Do I have to downgrade the quality of my photos? To do editing wouldn't you want the best quality photos to start off with?
I can not paste photos from my photos file. If I start a blank file I can paste anything photos want from the web in as many layers as I want. If I try to paste a photo from my own photos file it becomes the back ground by itself. I don't know how to stop this. Using photoshop elements 11.
I just installed Photoshop Elements 11 and want to use the PSE 11 Organizer to manage my photos. I currently have about 45,000 photos on my harddrive organized in folders. The filenames of the photos in these folders are whatever the default naming convention is for my camera - IMG_00001.jpg etc. So you can imagine that the possibility of having the same filename for different photos is quite high.
My problem is that when I want to import all these photos into PSE 11 I get an error saying there are duplicate photos and the duplicates are not being imported. I have a lot of these conflicts and I can't seem to find any option to allow the files to be imported. Are there any workarounds to this issue that don't involve manually renaming all the conflicting files? What are my options here?
I am creating a new catalog for my photos in the Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer. When I choose "File Get Photos and Videos From Files and Folders...", the only option I have to import my photos is "Media Files". "Media Files" includes all picture and movie formats. I do not want to import my home movies, only my family photos. I do not see a filter to import only photo formats (e.g. *.jpeg and not *.mts). "File Get Photos and Videos By Searching..." does not proivide this option either. It's a problem because my photos and videos are stored along side each other in the same folders, and I have nearly 2 TB of data.
How can I import only my photos in to a new catalog in Photoshop Elements 11?
I've got Photoshop Elements 6 on my iMac desktop running OS X 10.7.4. When I click on File>Open in PE6, my iMac Finder opens. I then select Photos and all my iPhoto and Photo Booth files open. But I cannot click on (well, I can click on them but nothing happens) any photo to pull it into PE6. It seems a simple operation, but apparently not for me!
I have successfully installed Photshop Elements on a Mac but cannot import photos to edit them. I get this message "Photoshop Elements does not recognise this type of file".
I recently purchased a new computer. PSE8 was my previous version but I did not install on my new computer. I purchased a newer version, PSE11. I cannot import my photos from backup.
Is there a way to only import a few photos from iphoto in Elements 11? When I use get photos from iphoto, Elements seems to want to import the entire catalog.
I use Element 9 on a MacBook Pro. When I try to import my photos, the downloader opens, it asks me where I would to import the files, and then it is frozen. Won't let me click choose, or cancel. I actually have to Force Quit the Downloader.
This is a problem that has gotten progressively worse recently. I can still download photos from my camera to the hard drive using Elements 5, but I can no longer import more than about 5 photos at a time from the hard drive to the Organizer. My computer is a Dell 8300 purchased in 2004, with a Pentium 4 processor, 500 GB hard drive, 4 GB RAM,Windows XP, and Norton AntiVirus. I have about 265 GB of photos on a 350 GB partition (G: drive) of the hard drive. The other partition (C: drive) has about 50 GB of free space.
I've tried many fixes, including using CCleaner and Microsoft Disk Cleaner to remove unnecessary files and fix Registry problems; turning off and repowering the entire system; using Nikon Transfer to download the photos, instead of Photoshop; using Startup Inspector to remove unnecessary startup programs, as well as turning off all other software.
I get two different messages, at different times, from Elements when the process freezes:
1. "The ODBC data source reported the following error: "Microsoft] [ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Invalid argument."
2. "The ODBC data source reported the following error: [Microsoft] [ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time." (I'm not on a network.)
I also sometimes get another message from Norton: "High CPU usage by AOL", even when AOL is shut down.
I want to import into the organizer just the most recent iPhoto ppictures. The problem is every time I want to import from iPhoto the system wants to import thousands of photos which I do not need. All I want are the last half-dozen or so shots that I took that's all.
Have used previous versions for years but not on this PC. Each time I try to import, it goes through some number of photos, up through 2,00 plus sometimes and then says import failed and I get nothing. It claims the file is the wrong type (only jpgs and psds). I don't know what the stumbling block is or why elements doesn't jut ignore files it can't read and go on to the next.
Just downloaded and started using PSE 12 Editor and Organizer about a week ago. (An upgrade fron PSE11). Today for whatever reason, when trying to import any file, say from my desktop or a download foler, the list of locations to import appears for a second, then disappears. I am unable to do any other action and have to quit or force quit. In PSE Editor, I am able to open a file, but when trying to save it, I get an error that "Could not complete your request due to a Program Error". I use a Mac and just recently upgraded to OS Maverick. I also tried using PSE 11 and run into the same problem.
I just bought Photoshop Elements 11 recently and I'm trying to import photos and videos from my phone, Samsung Galaxy SIII, but having a little trouble.
When I go to "Import from Camera or Card Reader" option and choose my phone from the "Get photos from" drop down menu in "Source" section the "Photo downloaded" finds every single photo and/or video stored on the device and it's memory card but I'm trying to import only photos and/or videos I've shot my self with the phone, witch is kept in an folder named DCIM, but I simply can't figure out how to so my question is: How do I import photos and/or videos from my Android device?
I am using adobe elememts 11 on my MAC. Do I need to import my photos from iphoto to the adobe organizer? If not I am having trouble figuring out how to get my photos from Iphoto to use in adobe-.
I currently have thousands of photos that are organized into folders (for the year) and then into albums (for the month and day within the year folder) I want to import this structure with the photos into Elements 12 and maintain the same structure. How would this be done.
