View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes photoshop let you cut and paste from one pic to the next, like for example... cut out the head of a person on one photo and paste it on another photo?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a photo of a puppy, where just the top of the head where the hair is, is cut off - out of the camera shot. When using the quick selection tool and placing this image on a new background, the top therefore has a flat line at top. Which is the best feature to try to replace what was cut off in that original photo (shown below) ? Would that be the content aware patch tool? Or would you just use the paintbrush to try to paint it in? With all the subtle colors, that is difficult.

skintone color of two others.
I'm using one photo, and I want to put a shirt on somebody in the photo. Here's what my idea is, I just don't know how to execute it. I already used paintbrush and zoomed in on the person and drew around the person's outline. What I want to do, is cut out that person from the picture, basically make two layers using the same photo, but not remove or move the person. Then, I was to import the picture of the shirt and basically put it on the person so it looks like they're wearing it, but put the picture of the shirt in between the two layers, so the background hides the excess shirt. I hope that's understandable.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm completely new to Gimp, and have one task that I would like to complete. I'm a fiberartist and would like to replace the backgrounds in my photos with a gradient one.
I have managed to create a "gradient image", and have also tried to follow a PDF tutorial, and YouTube video. The dialog boxes didn't match and I wasn't successful. I tried finding "decompose" and "mask", but it may be the instructions weren't spot on.
I have downloaded Gimp 2.8
I have an image with a "rainbow" (a gradient of 7 colors).
How can I select each and every pixel of that image that contains at least a shade of red? That is, every color whose Red component (from its RGB code) is between 1 and 255.
I have a very simple image, 32-bit CMYK which is just black & white. I want to change all the black to Cyan. Should be easy, I just use rectangle mask to mark out the area I want then go to "Adjust->Replace Colors..." and it comes up with a dialog. So far so good.
I use the color picker to select black as the source I want to change, then I choose the color to change to, either with color picker or manually mixing it to pure Cyan. The colour does change, to something blue-ish or cyan-ish, but not what I specified. Same deal if I try with Magenta. It's close, but not quite.
If I just fill with Cyan, it does indeed come out the right color.
I have a new computer and and a very old Photoshop Elements . I want to be able to manipulate colors etc and also be able to set up the printer to print multiple (eight on one page) copies of my scanned paintings on my epson printer. I want to buy a new Photoshop program, but have not idea what to even look at. I do not need anything fancy or expensive...just something that works similarly to my old Photoshop elements. How to replace my old program with a new one?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been haveing severe catalog issues for the last week after installing Windows 7.
I decided to insert my original HDD in my laptop, along with the new HDD and Windows 7. I then deleted the MY Pictures folder from the new HDD and copied the My Pictures folder from my old HDD to the new.
Since I felt my newly restored catalog file was corrupted, I wanted to copy the catalog file from my old HDD to the new one. I renamed the folder on my old drive by appending 'old' to the end of it, doing the same to the catalog .db file within the folder, then dragged the folder to the Program Data/Adobe/Elements Data/Catalogs folder.
I fired up PSE9 holding the Shift key to select the catalog that I was using on my old drive. It would not let me select the folder or find the catalog file in the folder. I tried creating a new catalog file, but the message "Catalog file with same name already exists in that folder".
I then just tried to point to the catalog file on my old drive, (btw, using 'custom' option in the catalog management window), and it still would not let me open the file. I say it won't let me open the catalog because, when I navigate to the folder with the catalog name, even single and double clicking on it, I don't get the 'Open' button on the Catalog Management window highlighted.
Is there something I am missing about catalog files? Do the have to be registered somehow within Elements before I can use them.
I have a style/font combo that really i like to use for text.
My goal is to use it regularly in the future on/with new backgrounds.
Currently I have the text on a background.
All I want to do is (retaining the text) replace it with another background.
I have a .jpg where I am trying to replace the background color. I choose a sage green in the replacement color picker, and it shows properly in the dialog box, but in the actual picture I get a dark gray instead of sage green. I checked Image>Mode and it is set to RGB color. How can I get the color I want?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did use the scissors and eraser tool to cutout unwanted background, and now I have an image I want to save and copy to another photo. The problem is that Elements 11 won't let me open up another photo at the same time, or let me copy the selected image to clipboard to paste on a different photo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have PSE 11 and I am creating a Christmas theme with various pictures. I have my main photo with 6 layers including a tree and figures which I can move independantly and the background is the checkerboard as the main layers are turned off with only my selections showing. I also have another photo where I have selected part of it and also turned off the main layers leaving a small part with checkered background. When I have the main photo loaded and drag the other one from the photo bin with the move tool, nothing appears on the main picture. I have already dragged the Christmas tree in the same way and that worked. By the way, all the files are .PSD.
View 6 Replies View Relatedtried several times to shift an object from Photo 1 to photo 2:
identified the object in photo 1, e.g by using the lasso
stored it by edit/copy (or strg/c)
opened photo 2
edit/insert (or strg/v)
object appears in photo 2, but without the frame it was supposed to come with - and by which I could enlarge / minimize / shift it....
made a mistake or software error?
I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.
