Photoshop Elements :: Clone Stamp And Some Other Tools Not Working Correctly?
Feb 15, 2013I have some problems with th CLONE STAMP TOOL at the right hand. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. I do the correct thing: I press ALT-button, the click.
I have also noticed that this also is a problem when I use the BURN and DODGE tool. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.
Lightroom :: Import Elements 8.0 Catalog Into Trial Of LR4 - Not Working
Jun 16, 2012I downloaded a trial of Lightroom 4 and went to import my Elements 8.0 catalog. It says that it did do it, but with errors...and now when I open Lightroom, all my pictures just show up as grey squares. If I try to import pictures individually, it says that Lightroom already has all my pictures in the Library.

Oct 21, 2011I am using AutoCad Civil 3D 2012, with windows XP, and when I type "extrim" at the command line, I get this:
Command: extrim
"bad argument type: listp #<SUBR @2f9669b0 BONUS_ERROR>"
There are also a few other express tools that when picked from the ribbon menu, do not work either. Now, I have seen elsewhere on the web that in this case, you should make sure there are no search paths set to R14 Bonus tools (which mine aren't), or repair and update express tools from add/remove programs in the control panel. I did this, and the only thing that happened was the numbers after SUBR@ changed.
Photoshop :: None Of My Tools Are Working
May 12, 2009I use CS3. For some reason when I logged in, none of my tools are working, such as smudge, erase, etc. CS3 seems to be working, because I can use the menu's so it seems like just the tools are not working. I appreciate any help you can offer.

Aug 17, 2009My photoshop tools do not work. None of them.
Worked fine yesterday, but today when I launched Photoshop, I got a message from my firewall (online Armor) that Photoshop.exe may be recording my keystrokes. I clicked 'allow' and it launched Photoshop.
Went to open a file and I got another OA message that Photoshop.exe was trying to get a screenshot.
I again clicked allow and the file opened. All the tools in the toolbar are frozen, not working,
I've reset prefs, checked for corrupt fonts, reinstalled twice, and downloaded the Adobe Liscensing patch with no change in the results.
I havent changed any settings or downloaded anything, run my antivirus scans

May 10, 2012 CS6 (Design & Web Premium)! Beautiful interface with terrific power. Just updateded from CS4.
ISSUE in PS CS6:
When I'm retouching with a tool (like the clone tool) consecutively (maybe 7-12 times), I get a "bink" sound, as if the tool has locked up. I can't use hot keys (keyboard short cuts) to undo, resize or resample without getting this "bink" sound. I've clicked on the "move" tool then select the cloning tool (with my mouse) but that only works for 1 more spot.
The "bink" continues for any other hot key (keyboard short cut) operation. I don't want to purge history until I'm completely finished. Quitting / relauncing PS clears this but only until I use the tool consecutively a few times again. What is causing that and how do I fix it?
I'm a power user with 300 images to retouch on a very tight deadline. Eeeeep.Keyboard short cuts are my salvation.

Feb 26, 2004OK, not only is PS-CS S L O W loading but as I was working on an image file with the brush and image adjustment tools I was noticing that the pixels in the image are moving away from the tool that I am using. So if I am using the brush tool, covering an area that needs some black the pixels in the area to be covered are moving and even jumping a little as I'm applying the color. It's not a smooth transition from one color to another. I'ts a bit disconcerting with this occurring as you are working.
It's not the video driver, I just updated it this morning and I've got a good scratch disk asigned to PS-CS and plenty of RAM and disk space.

Feb 3, 2013I was trying to cut out a bridge stock today, and all of my selection tools are suddenly acting psychotic. Whether it's a lasso or a marquee tool, they all give me this result when I try to select something:
I haven't trying restarting Photoshop, but I just wanted to know how to fix this and how I can prevent it from happening again.
Photoshop :: Type Tools Not Working Properly
Sep 25, 2005I've got CS2 and have been trying to learn all the new features. I was trying to add text (type) to a web layout last night and experienced a rather weird (at least to me) problem that I can't seem to figure out and from everything I've read isn't supposed to happen.
If I select any of the type tools (regular or mask, hor or vert), and then either click for point type mode or click and drag for paragraph mode, all of the text I enter is placed on top of itself. In other words, say I type an 'N' and then an 'O', then O will be placed on TOP of the N. This continues as long as I type.
Is there some setting that's been inadvertantly set? I'm able to use the type tools in Illustrator perfectly fine, but not a clue as to whats wrong with Photoshop.

Feb 18, 2014 I have been working with creating the effect of indented text. I have created a new fill which I placed behind my original one.I then went to "Effec" Transform & Distort" " Transform". I was going to add a vertical move of 1px - BUT it doesn't move vertically? My fill is moving downwards 1px?!
I thought I was going crazy until I zoomed in and applied the same setting again....sure enough it is moving down for veritical and vertically for down.
InDesign :: Selection And Type Tools Not Working In CC For Mac?
Mar 5, 2014I have just recently downloaded InDesign CC (I use Mac OSX.9.2) and got the World Tools plugin to typeset in different languages.
However, I am having trouble using the selection and type tools. In about the first half of the file, the type tool displays the pointer/dashed box/I-beam icon and doesn't put the cursor in the text when I click on it. I can't click to select text as I should be able to, and if I try to click and drag, all I do is end up creating another text frame. But in about the second half of the file, the selection and type tools work the way they should.
When I click and hold on the type tool, the cursor changes to the crosshairs icon for creating text frames and the "W: H: " dialogue box for text frames appears.
How can I get the tools to work properly in the entire document?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Express Tools Stopped Working?
Apr 20, 2012I recently did a repair on my C3d 2012 (whcih didn't fix the problem, but I found out what that was and sorted it another way.)
I now find that all express tools commands give me the command unknown error.
I have checked in the cui and the Express tools ARE loaded. I tried unloading and reloading acermain.cuix without success.
I tried adding features from the control panel, but express tools do not show in the list.
I checked the text window after I first opened C3d and it definitely lists that it has loaded express tools yet they do not work.
I tried typing expressmenu in the command line, but it says command unknown.
edit - I tried resetting acetmain.cuix and got the following error:
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If yu click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

GIMP :: Drawing Tools Stop Working On One Of XCF Files
Sep 30, 2013I can no longer make changes to one of my gimp files. Everytime I select a tool such as pen, pencil sprbrush, the mouse icon changes, but when i try to draw nothing happens. It seems like all the other tools work, i tried the following
1. made sure the correct layer was selected
2. exit gimp and re-run it.
I'm stuck.

GIMP :: Drawing Tools Stopped Working All Of A Sudden (2013)
May 11, 2013I'm using GIMP in my own language so the tools names translation might not be 100% accurate.
Been using GIMP (2.8 and just switched to the latest one) for a while now, it's been nearly a year on this PC (Windows 7 64 bit, relatively recent hardware, 8 Gb of RAM, etc.) and it's worked smoothly up until a couple of days ago when it stopped working as intended all of a sudden for some reason.
Whether I use my Wacom tablet or the mouse none of the tools that normally allow you to draw (pencil, brush, airbrush, etc.) work anymore (cropping, distorting the image and the likes work fine though), doesn't matter if it's a brand new document or an old file.
The funny thing is that when I go to the "Edit" menu it'll allow me to rollback and undo whatever I did with the aforementioned tools, even though there's no trace of it on the empty canvas itself.
I tried to uninstall and install the software back but it didn't do the trick.This is really irking me as I'm working on an illustration that is due in a week and I basically had to stop working on it altogether because I haven't been able to get rid of this problem (also I can't seem to find anything about this specific issue on the net).
Illustrator :: CS 5.1 - Shortcut Keys Not Working Properly In Shape Tools

Whenever I use a Shape tool for which the up and down arrow keys change its attributes, the up and down arrow keys skip several states. So for example, a star can go from 5 points to 12 points if I tap the up arrow key once, skipping 6 - 11 pointed stars entirely. It happens with polygons, spirals, and the flare tool as well.
I tried using a different keyboard, but the problem persisted. I also used my keyboard with another computer and Illustrator behaved just fine. So it's definitely a problem with the software.
