Photoshop Elements :: How To Recreate Media Database
Nov 23, 2013
I have Elements 11 and am trying to recreate the media database. I get to en_US and when I click on it I do not see the file media database.db3. I use Windows 7. through the process for recreating mediadatabase?
I just got Adobe Photoshop CS3. I started installing it and during the installation, the power cord got pulled over and the PC turned off! I turned the damn thing again and found out that the setup was not running!
Here are a few things I noticed:
Photoshop is in the registry but won't uninstall because the setup won't run. The setup is alright and there is no problem or any file missing.
I tried the setup from my friend's CD but it gives the same error of my setup:
Critical errors were found in setup - undefined - The installer database is invalid; please re-install the product from the original media.
I have not renamed or moved original elements, yet when I recently opened an on-going project in Photoshop Elements 4.0, about 1/4 of the media elements were gone. Why? Is there a way to troubleshoot this? Anyway to recover these slides? Can't see that any photos, etc in the Organizer have broken links.
Whenever I start Elements Organiser, there is an on-screen message that there are files ready to import and that the Organiser will now import these files into the Catalog. Then a "Getting Media" box displays and, at some point, say 56%, the "racing cursor" appears and the programme does nothing more. It just freezes and eventually there is a Windows message stating that the programme is not responding. This happens in Elements/Premiere 11. I reinstalled Elements 6 and the file importing works quickly and without problem in that version of Elements.
This is a new, custom-built PC, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. 16 Gb memory. Adobe programmes were installed for 64-bit OS exactly as directed in Adobe instructions. All hardware drivers are up to date. No other problems with any other software, just Adobe's Elements 11 bundle !
Been trying to install PSE 10. At first install got exit code 7 errors. Try to download the "fix" Fix wouldnt download -- Chatted with Tech Support-- Chatted for a 2 1/2 hours. Tried multiple things - Now the installation gets to about 2% then gets the error " Inconsistency in installer database"-Chatted again now download gets to 17% than get an exit code 7 error- Mac OSX Version 10.6.8-- Processor 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo --
would it be possible to install the picture database for photoshop elements 12 on a nas storage? I like to access the same database from two different client computers (2 pse licenses).
When I open Elements 11, I get "There is no media to preview". The program was working correctly. MY catalog contains 10K photos. I have been working on a video in Premier 11 and lost the ability to connect with My Catalog. I have opened File>> My Catalogs. I see my catalog[current] but the open button is not active. How do I open My Catalog? I do have another small catalog and it will open.
Is it possible to have two machines, both running Photoshop Elements 11, share the same database file? The scenario I'm imagining is one where the images will be stored on a $fileserver and thereby accessible by either of my image-editing machines:
1. Dell Desktop PC (Win 7 Pro) 2. Apple MacBook Pro Laptop (OS X 10.7.5)
I want to be able to edit images from either machine, but I don't want to create two databases related to the images. I need both machines to use the same database of tags, etc. (Not simultaneously, obviously.)The file server will be one of the following (I haven't determined which one yet):
1. a second drive on the desktop PC 2. a third machine (FreeBSD, FreeNAS, Mac Mini, or a Linux box) 3. a NAS device (perhaps from Synology)
So, is this possible with Photoshop Elements? Does this bump me into some sort of server license scenario with Adobe? Is there a better way to do this at the home/consumer level, even if it means abandoning Elements for another product (or two products, working in conjunction) from Adobe? (I should mention that although it's a home scenario, we're talking about half a terabyte of images and growing.)
When I am viewing images in the Media view I can't find a way to go from a vertical filmstrip view to the normal media view which places all images in the middle view area.
I cannot add media to existing albums if the tag panel is or has been open. I get an error message 'error applying keyword tags'. However, if I open a new album, then subsequently try to add media (or remove media) it works!
Why can't I "import media" to organizer from a folder by right clicking the folder placed on a second hard disk in the computer. "Import Media" is dimmed.
I am working on the AutoCAD customization and doing the same by VB.Net & C#.Net. But I just want to know the difference as mentioned below:
1. Insert Block In AutoCAD
Using VB.Net without using DataBase services..Only 1 statement is required to Insert the Block objAcadDocument.ModelSpace.InsertBlock(Required Arguments are here) Using C#.Net with DataBase services
There are many statments are there to insert only 1 block..Like Start Transaction, Lock the document, Get the Object Id Block etc...So my quetion is that when I have to use DataBase services and when not
what is the advantage of doing customization using DataBase services rather than go for wihout DataBase services.?
I have adobe premier elements 8 installed ,my operating system is windows 7 when film media are collected the program will not display the media APE8 states no compressor/decompresser/ codec installed.were can I download and apply this from.
If I want to drag over several pictures from the grid to an album or choose for them printing, as soon as I highlight more than one the file name stops showing in the information box. Therefore I can't figure out which pictures to highlight (after I have spent a long time analyzing each one individually). Some of my shots are so similar that I need the file name to choose the correct ones for the batch I want. Is there a way to see the filenames in the grid?
what's the maximum number of photos that can be organized in Elements 10? what's the maximum size of a photo with a thumbnail what's the meaning of the 'broken card' icon?
I connect my iPhone to my PC and open Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer. I click Import and select my iPhone (using current iOS version). It searches and finds all photos. I click get media and I get the following error: "Elements cannot obtain files from this device. ensure that the device is connected properly, or that the battery is charged, and try again."
I click Ok and the import fails.
In the attached screen shot you can see the import process about to begin, but the error box pop up over top.
How can I prevent the Getting Media dialog appearing, I have left Organiser running for hours and it never disappears. The Stop button does nothing. It is not possible to to close the program without Ctrl Alt Del.
Recently switched from Vista to W8/64 (new pc) and reinstalled PSE11, after which I can no longer copy files to removable media, i.e. to a DVD. After choosing the right drive and pressing the "done" button the burning screen pops up and freezes.
Have never had this problem befoe and suspect/hope simple solution. When I select an album from local albums it shows the album pictures, but also every other photo in my catalog, which is almost 10k. I only want to see the pictures in the local album, which may be 25 or whatever.
I have tried a coule of times to add photos to a new project, to make a slideshow. In one case I added some transitions just to see how they look. Then I click on the PLAY button, nothing happens. I've tried it a coule of times, saving under different filenames. What gives? in one case I rendered the file, no difference.
A big waste of time so far. I did convert some video clips from a .mov format and the worked fine on almost any DVD player but I I am trying to make a slideshow for a web page and nothing is working.
This is weird, there is one item in my catalog that I cannot delete. Whenever I try I get a dialog box 'Error Deleting media'. I've run 'Repair Catalog'. but that didn't fix it. I've tried deleting the file it is connected to but it still won't let me (either directly or via Find> All Missing Files').
The only other occurrence of this I've traced in the forum is at [URL] .... and that didn't seem to get resolved either. Fortunately though in my case it is just this one file, I can still add files and delete others.
I've just applied the complimentary PSE 10 to PSE 11 upgrade. All appeared to work fine. However I seem to have a problem when trying to select Media to view via Tags.If I select a Tag, the required media (photos) are displayed as expected, however if I then select a 2nd Tag all thumbnails vanish and there is a "message" : No media to be displayed.
The problem appears to be a simple case of not allowing multiple tags to be selected? This worked (and still does) in PSE10. It should be possible to display media by selecting multiple Tags but doesn't show a specific example ! I don't see any "Preference" that prevents multiple Tag displays.
Is this a bug or a PSE11 "enhancement" ? My setup is Win 7 Pro 64bit
What is the proper way to change the color of a social media icon like this one. I have no trouble making a selection, but I'm embarassed to say that I don't know what to do after that. I've tried adjusting the hue/saturation, but important detail is lost, and (for example) if I was trying to make the image #ff0000 red, it wouldn't really be true in color with a hue/saturation adjustment. I know this image is not the best quality, but something tells me that I need to make and selection, then create a new layer.. but as a newbie I'm stumped. Oh, that is - a newbie still using Elements 8.
