New to this Photoshop lark, I imported a load of pictures (via PSE11) and then cut and paste them into a new folder in Windows 7 (I know, probably where I went wrong). So I have three folders on PSE11 that I want to get rid of. To be honest I still have the files on my SD card so I would like to get rid of all the files and folders I have messed about with today and start again.
When I open Elements 9 in Folder Location the images displayed are not those in the highlighted folder. Similarly if I select another folder I see another selection of images from elsewhere in the structure.
I'm new to Elements 10 and I'm having a hard time figuring things out but 1 thing in particular. I'm on a PC and use Windows 7.I already import a lot of pic's to Elements or so I thought.
When I'm in "Folder Location" and click on a folder it doesn't display any pictures and says "No files from this folder have been imported into Elements Organizer. To add any files, right click on the folder and select "Import to Organizer"
So I do as I'm told and then i get this error."Nothing was imported. The files or folders selected to import did not contain any supported file types or the files are already in this catalog."
I just finished importing my photos to Elements, and was going to add the folder I keep them in to my watched folders, to keep them up to date. Since everything imported just fine, I was surprised to find that I got the following error when trying to add the folder:
The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.
I looked around the site using search and Google, and found a few other occurences of this error, but they all only show answers that apply to network shares. The folder I am trying to watch is not a network drive that I have to use a \serverfolder format to access, as the folder is located on my hard drive under C:UsersusernameGoogle DrivePictures.

Installed Elements 12, converted catalog but now my sub folders are shown as main folders in Organizer folder view. How can I get back my original folder/sub folder system? When I look at Windows folders my system is as it was so the two don't match any more. On searching further came across more info on Community-powered support for Photoshop Family and it seems Adobe have removed the option of sub folders.
Let's say I have downloaded 500 shots to PSE 12. I would like to go through them quickly and eliminate the ones I definitely do not want. How can I quickly tag them or whatever and then with one touch on the delete button delete them all at once?
Today as a precautionary measure I downloaded the Adobe font test to do a scan on my fonts to see if any is corrupt. The test showed that all my fonts passed. 3 questions though:
1. Does the script work with photoshop CC?
2. Could I just delete the font test jsx file from the folder when I am done with the test? Or should I keep it there?
3. During the initial process, I was unable to proceed and got an error message "failed to get path for font cache files". As such I unticked the clear font caches to proceed. Would this have affected the results?
Over time, I've organized related keywords into various folders for simplicity. I come to find that I don't care for this system and I wish to have all my keywords in a single list without being grouped into folders.
How do I move (not delete) individual keywords out of the folders where they currently are located?
I’m going through a bunch of old files to see what I can git rid of.
After I view and then close a file in Illustrator CS6 I can delete the file, but not its containing folder, which stays locked, even after closing Illustrator. Restarting and closing Illustrator again usually enables me to delete the folder — but not always. Sometimes I have to close everything and log out and back in to be able to delete the folder. (BTW, Acrobat and Photoshop also share this problem.)
When you have, as I do, hundreds of files to go through, this becomes a real hassle.
Instead of "removing" a folder with thousands of photos I went in to Windows Explorer deleted the catalog, the locked file and a few other folders. However, when I try to delete the folder with all the thousands of previews folders in it I get a message telling me that I can't delete them because they are being used by another program. I don't have Lightroom open when I try to do this so my question is: how can I simply delete those folders from my hard drive?
Do I have to un-install Lightroom to do this? Hopefully not.
I made a project in after effect and it has alot of pictures. I'd like to delete the pictures from my project folder but when i do the pictures are deleted in the after effects project. Is there a way i can embed the pictures so i can delete them from my folder?
I have created virtual copies of an image in Lightroom 4 and I am wondering what will happen to these if I delete the folder containing the master image and its virual copies from the LR4 catalog? Will the virtual copies be automatically deleted? If so, is this reversible in any way? Will i recover these virual copies if I add the folder back into LR's catalog later on?
Also will Adobe Bridge be able to read these virtual copies in both before and even after the folder has been removed from LR4? Or is the 'virtual copy' functionality specific to LR and that the only way to preserve it is to keep the original image within LR and never delete it?
I cannot delete anything out of PSE11 on my MAC. I get "error deleting media". I tried re-installing PSE. The re-install doesn't ask what you want to do with the current contents like the earlier versions did so I virtually just got a copy of what I already had and still can't delete. My question: How can I wipe PSE off of my computer and reinstall it from scratch? I have backed up everything to external HD?
I'm using photoshop elements and I've copied some photos in to an album from a folder. How do I delete a photo from the album without deleting it from the catalog?
I have imported photos from hard drives and have many duplicates. Is there some way to elimanate the duplicates, other than one-by-one? is thare a method to delete all duplicates?
I just upgraded from PSE 9 to 11. Where is the folder view that allows me to browse my hard drive, right click a folder and import all of the images in that folder that are not already in the catalog?
This was a handy feature in previous versions, but I cannot find it in the '12' version. Is there an alternative way to generate a tag from a folder name?
I want to make changes to Watch Folders. In Organizer
When I click on Watch Folders I get the following? "To enable watch Folder Functionality Please start the Adobe's Active File Monitor service from Service Manager (Control panel --> Administer Tools-->Services).
In the manual is indicated that you can resize pictures (under the Share tab) to use them as eamil attacments and then put them in a folder to manually attach them to a message in the email client of your choice. Unfortunately I cannot find this option in the Organizer part of the program. Using the Fotomail or Adobe mail options is not possible in a Win 7 64 bits Outlook environment and I don't want to change to a 32 bit version of Outlook.
I have not been able to create new folders in Elements 11. I have only been able to rename folders, not make new ones. In v7 & 9 it was easy, but not so in v11.
I sucessfully (apparently) downloaded Elements 11 and Elements Premier from a purchased disc. BUT, in my apllications folder, within the Elements 11 folder, I have an Elements 11 ALIAS (which does not open) and a folder named 'Support Files' in which is Elements Editor which does open. What do you think happened to the apllication for Elements 11?
In the Premier 11 applications folder, there is a Premier ALIAS. Then in the 'Support Folder' there is a Premier application (which opens) and another Premier Alias.
So, what are these Alias' about?
Is Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor the name of the application for Adobe Photoshop Elements 11?
And are the support folders the right location for these apllications? My other Adobe applications are within the folder of the same name.
When the IP address of one of my scanners was changed (due to power outage), two listings of the scanner now show up as separate devices with the same name in the PSE9 WIA list - one of these with the old obsolete IP address. The same device is also listed with the new address and it works. How to I delete the WIA listing with the old IP address?
Only one entry with the IP address for this HP printer/scanner shows up in the Windows 7 list of printers. So this WIA list is a remanent of the past. How do I get rid of it?
