Photoshop Elements :: Group Custom Name Keyword Tag - Mac 10
Feb 26, 2013
Under the preferences tab for camera or card reader I see a checkbox which i have selected for Make "Group Custom Name" keyword tag. How is this feature accessed to modify this and use this tag? I cannot find the specific field. Will it show up in the Organizer on the right side with the keyword tags?
I am trying to apply a keyword to a group of photos, and am holding down the shift key as instructed. However, only the first picture is getting the keyword attached. I am using Lightroom 4.
I have code that adds my own custom menu group to a contextmenu when right-clicking with a particular object selected (in this case a dimension). Works great!
My questions are:
1) How can I get my custom menu item located where I want it rather than appearing where it wants in the contextmenu?
2) Can I add my own custom menu item to an existing context menu group? For example: It you right-click on a dimension string in AutoCAD 2012, you get a group of dimension commands: Dimension Style, Precision, Etc... Is it possible to add my menu item to that group? If so, how can I do this. I cannot seem to find it documented anywhere! Below is my code for adding my own menu group.
Private Sub AddObject_RightClickMenu() Dim ed As Editor = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.Editor Try m_ObjectMenu = New ContextMenuExtension m_ObjectMenu.Title = "Dimension Objects Menu" Dim mnuItem As MenuItem = New MenuItem("Extension Line Toggle") AddHandler mnuItem.Click, AddressOf run_dimExtEdit_WhenClicked m_ObjectMenu.MenuItems.Add(mnuItem) ' create an rxclass Dim dimensionClass As RXClass = RXObject.GetClass(GetType(Dimension)) ' adding the object menu Application.AddObjectContextMenuExtension(dimensionClass, m_ObjectMenu) Catch ex As System.Exception ed.WriteMessage("Error Adding Object Menu: " + ex.Message) End TryEnd Sub
I'm writing code that able user to show my custom palette.
Everything is working fine, but ... I want to make some of my groupbox to be expandable/collapsible, like here (3D visualization):

I think that using groupbox control is bad idea, so how can I make some container with my controls (label and textbox) and make this container expandable/collapsible?
I have just installed PS El:11 and convered the catalogue from PS El:10 however whilst all the photo's are showing none appear under the tags created in PS El:10 However all the tags have transferred to 11 but no photos appear to be linked - what have I done wrong and how do I get them linked without going through 4k + of photo's to re-tag them!
When I drag an album name onto an image (or vice versa) in Organizer 12 to add the image to the album I get an error dialog with the message "Error Applying Keyword Tag(s)" and the image is not added to the album.
In the Organizer, what is the difference between image tags and keyword tags? How do I use each? I only seem to be able to find references to keyword tags in any of the documentation, but "image tags" show in the space below "keyword tags."
I have just downloaded Elements 12 using my previous version catalogue of images in Elements 9 however the keyword tags have not come across. How do I transfer them?
I recently upgraded from PSE 6.0 to PSE 12. Apparently, my tags DID move, since I can sort photos in PSE 12 by tag. However, if I right click on a photo which I know has tags (because it was in a sort by tag), the Remove Keyword Tag option is grayed out. I find no way to see which tags are attached to a given photo. On the other hand, if I right click some pictures, the Remove Keyword Tag is not grayed out, and I can see at least one tag that is attached to the file. (I'm using Windows Vista.)
How do I delete a keyword from a file... permanently? That is, the tags are updated in the file when I write as well. Effectively, when the keywords have been removed, and the file is re-imported, only those keywords I want remain.
Long, long, keyword hierarchy. Clicking on a keyword takes the focus back up to the keyword filter box. Usually happens if I've used the filter box to narrow down the keywords that are visible. Continues even after the filter box has been cleared. Doesn't happen all the time though. It is a real pain when trying to double click a keyword to edit it as the first click or the double click causes the list to refresh showing only the top entries. The second click (of the double click) then causes whatever keyword is now under the pointer to be keyword to be edited - NOT the keyword under the pointer when I started the double click.
I'm new to LightRoom and am glad to have found this great resource. Onto the issue at hand:
An ongoing office project is using LR3 to catalog 30 years' worth of images gathered from various media. Some are scans of slides, negatives, or prints; others are images straight from a digital camera. We have three people working on this cataloging project. The lead guy has created keywords on his computer that he uses to tag these images. Is there any way to make sure the keywords he's using on his machine sync with and are available to the other users of the image catalog? If not, is there a file that would have to be shared among the three users to make that functionality happen?

If I am in Library module, select filter Metadata, select Keywords from dropdown (no other filter panels selected), and start to scroll down the list of keywords, I can select keywords by mouseclick, and see the matching photos as thumbs in the main window.
However as I scroll further down, I can no longer select keywords - the mouseclick no longer highlights or selects. This happens rather incosnsistently - by which I mean, the point in the eyword list where the select stops working is not always the same place in the keyword list.
If I click several times on the same non-selecting keyword, LR4.4 jumps to taking 50% (exactly) of processor time (shown in task manager) , and the memory usage climbs steadily until all free RAM is consumed.
This is a small (~8000 image) catalogue, with ~2500 keywords, entirely non-hierarchical.
The catalogue is set to optimise on backup, weekly.
I've tried deleting and recreating the preferences file btw to no avail
I have just upgraded from Elements 9 to Elements 11. I have converted all my catalogs and all the images appear OK when I open the catalogs. What does not appear is a list of categories and Keyword tags.how I get these to appear.
On my first two pictures I put the names of the people in the picture as keyword tag. I have tried to remove the tag from the drop down menu but this does not work. I get an error when I auto try to find tags. Do I have to delete both pictures to get this out of the file? Will this remove these names from the keyword tag drop down window?
2. why aren't all my photos with keyword tags being imported with those tags, I see the tags when i look in Microsoft explorer and in version 6 but I don't see them in version 11. 3. In version 6 all the keyword tags were on the left, now the people tags are not shown and I have to press "people" at the top of the display in order to see the people related tags, and then for them, it doesn't show the tags tool bar on the right.
Using Elements 11 when creating a new catalog I do not get the Events, Other or Places tags . What is given are Color, Nature, Other and Photography all these in the new catalog are colored blue. I do get People Tags in both catalog..Why do you not get the Standard Keyword Tags
The album and keyword tag section to the right hand side of the organizer has disappeared. Don't see how to restore it with any of the settigs from the tool bar.
I have many of my photos tagged. When I do a keyword search, it only searches the current directory - not even the sub-directories. How do I get the search to go through my entire catalog?
I imported a bunch of images (I had to re-create my catalog due to file system restructuring), the tags came in nicely, but a bunch are "People". How do I move those from "Keywords" to "People Tags"?
