Dec 16, 2013I am a professional photographer and educator. I have a client who just purchased a Canon G16. He has PSE 10, and he has contracted with me for some tutoring. I want to include editing G16 Raw images.
However, I wonder if PSE 10 can open G16 Raw images?My client's computer is not powerful enough to upgrade to PSE 12.
I understand that I can have him convert the Canon G16 Raw images to DNG's using the free Adobe converter and import those into PSE 10, but I was hoping that PSE 10 could use the new 8.2 Raw Converter from Adobe that includes the G16, so it could import the images directly.
Photoshop Elements :: Opening Canon T4i RAW Files In 10?
May 27, 2013I recently traded in my Canon T3i for a T4i, and now PS Elements 10 won't open the CR2 RAW files from this camera. According to "Help - Plug In" I have V 6.7, so I went to the Adobe site which said I needed V 7.1, which I download, and extracted, but it won't install it in the software; when I click on the extracted AdobePatchInstaller application, I get a message stating "Update Failed" and "this patch is not applicable for you". Also, when I click "Help-Updates" it tells me everything is up to date.

Nov 14, 2012I just installed ACR 5.6 on my old Elements 7.0, hoping that it would allow me to upload RAW files from my Canon S100. I get a message saying something like "Cannot open file (filename.CR2) because it is the wrong type of file". Someone in another thread suggested that not all CR2 files are the same...that they're camera dependent. (It seems like they shouldn't be) Supposedly ACR 5.6 supports the Canon S90, which is 2 generations prior to the S100.

Mar 3, 2013I am currently using a trial version of Elements 11 which has camera raw ver.7.3.071. I can not see any previews of raw files in the organizer or editor for the Canon G15. I can however import the raw file and then open it to view or edit it. Without the preview option, browsing for your photos is impossible.

But I can separately use the DNG converter.Shouldn't the converter be integrated with Elements, so I wouldn't have to do a separate conversion, just click on the raw file?

Mar 11, 2013We have versions 9 and 10 of PSE to install on two computers, upgrading from version 6 on one of them.
We have two Canon cameras - a 450D and a 650D - and have taken RAWs on both. The 450 works fine with PSE6, but we can't get PSE 9 to take a RAW converter new enough to read the 650 files.
We don't really understand the difference between CR2 and DNG so don't know what we might lose if we used the DNG converter for the 650 RAW files.
