I have checked the brush is in black and in normal mode. It just will not edit when I add a layer or layer mask. It has always worked fine up until yesterday

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy PSE10 Healing Brush is now acting like my cloning tool. I was using the cloning tool while editing a photo. The next photo I went to use the healing brush and received an error notice that I usually associate with the cloning tool. The error reads "alt-click to define a source point to be used to repair the image". I have done a restart as well as checked for any available updates. All to no avail.

One of my favorite tools is the spot healing brush with content aware option. For some reason it suddenly stopped working! The black circle doesn't appear when I click my mouse. I have reset the tool to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDetail Smart Brush use to have the same brightness as Smart Brush as in Bright Eyes, Whiten Teeth, etc. Now when I use Smart Brush, I get the same brightness as always, but when I try to use the Detail Brush, it is darker than Smart Brush. It used to be that I could go over an area as many times as I wanted without an accumulation of brightness with the Detail Brush. Now if I go over an area I already went over, it lightens it more. Have I done something to cause this? How can I get it back to the way it was before (and the way I can still use Elements 11 which I did not uninstall). I tried Sign Out, uninstall and making a new install but the problem was there again. Is it possible that this was updated by Adobe and intentionally changed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing Photoshop Elements 10. I am unable to edit an Adjustment Layer. When I double click the layer thumbnail or click layer content options, nothing happens. This is the case with new files as well as files that had adjustment layers created with Photoshop Elements 6. Fill layers work ok, but adjustment layers such as Levels and Hue/Saturation won't work....
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was using the "texture" feature under the brush options, under "brush tip shape" to get a pencil type texture. I've turned it on and off to color stuff and anyway, now it won't seem to turn back "on".
I've attached this image so hopefully you can see the texture. It's not a custom brush or anything. Just the basic default PS brush with "texture" chosen, now it's just a smooth line.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was working normally in a drawing (ACAD 2012, 32b) file when, without any apparent reason, I tried to delete something and it didn't work. The way I work is that I select first and then press the "delete" key.
Now, when I do this, absolutely nothing happens. The objects remain selected. While trying to figure out what was happening, I discovered further disruptions. For example, when I select and object and then right-click, instead of showing me the edit shortcut menu, it repeats the last command. I know what you are thinking, but I already verified the right-click customizations and it is correctly set to "shortcut menu" in the "edit mode".
Finally, when I double click on a text, it won't edit as expected; again, nothing happens. Ane yes, in "Options/Windows standard behaviour" the "Double click editing" options is selected.
All the above has it's way around: the "erase" command works, the "ddedit" text works, etc. But it slows me down horribly.
As of yesterday Double click editing has stopped working. CUI says everything is OK.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is pretty weird. Brand new .lrcat, working through a few family pictures. The first few photos, the adjustment brush was working. A few minutes into it, it stopped working, or at least stopped having nearly as substantial an effect. If I push exposure by +4, it looks as if it's pushing it by .4. Same with other sliders - they are barely applied.
Did I hit some button that globally diminishes the brush strength or something?
Note that, in the second image, the adjustment brush is centered on his head. It's a little different than the first image, but certainly not to the extent one would expect from the sliders pushed to their extremes.
Just for a point of trivia, I installed QuickTime while working in LR. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but restarting LR and creating a new catalog did not remedy the problem.
I have auto select turned on and set to layer.

When i open Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, which i have used for quite some time and its always worked, it now had a blank window pop up and it will no longer let me create new documents, open old ones or use any features. Basically it just freezes and doesn't even let me quit the program, i have to force quit it every time.

View 12 Replies View RelatedThe lasso selection tool in PSE9 is malfunctioning. When I draw a selection, I immediately get a message saying: "Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible."
This is the kind of message I would normally get when I select wrong numbers for feathering. But now the message comes up when I use the lasso tool to try to select an area. When I hit cancel the message, the selection disappears. But the pulldown menu shows that I can "deselect." When I do that, and start all over, I get the same problem.
I quit and restarted PSE9 to try to fix this but it didn't work. Then I restarted my Mac computer, but that didn't fix it either
the zoom burst effect has stopped working in PSE 12! when I click the zoom burst function the photo distorts as designed but when i click the "add focus area" button on the photo it returns the whole photo to normal without focusing the part selected.I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 12 already with no effect.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using Elements for quite a few years and have had no problem in resizing images until last week. I often use the option of resizing using the cm measurements I want. When I tried this on my laptop last week the programme would not allow me to change any of the figures in the resizing dialog box. I tried cm, pixels and percentage and none of them would work.
I tried a number of different images from one file but could not resize any of them however I opened an image from another file which I know i have resi9zed in the past and this time the function worked fine.
I copied the image I couldn't resize to my main computer which also has Photoshop Elements and the resize function worked fine on this computer.
I uninstalled Elements and then re-installed it on my laptop but still have the same problem. I also have Photosphop Cs4 on my laptop and the resize function has stopped working in this programme as well.
