I have 32bit TGA images files and want to convert them into 32bit BMP, preserving the alpha channel (very important).
I have about 2000 files I need to convert. Doing it manually using gimp, I just open the image, save as and change the extension to bmp. I leave every other setting to default.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried to convert several files using "Process multiple files" in Photoshop Elements 10. Input files are CMYK psd files with one layer and transparent background. They should be resized and converted to PNG. It works excepting the transparency in the PNG files is missing - the background is white instead. The conversion works however if I open a single file, convert it to RGB after prompt and save it as PNG. The background is transparent as it should.
So why my pngs are not transparent when using batch conversion?
I want to batch convert some .psd images into jpegs in pse 10 or 11. I know you can batch convert for image resizing, but don"t see the ability to convert images from one format into another.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using PSE8 successfully for several years. After using it all week, when I tried to open it today, I got a message that said something to the effect "cannot open because file is corrupt or cannot be updated and/or the catalog should be converted". Suspecting that after so many years I had too many files, I thought I needed to convert (not really knowing what that meant and no explanation was clear). After many attempts, it finally did that (converted) but now the only files that are included in the organizer are the files that were contained in my previous PSE version 6. Nothing beyond 2009 exists in this catalog. I made many albums from our travels in 2010, 2011, & 2012 that I spent hours creating and can't stomach the idea that they're lost.
how to, or even if it is possible, to find the old (new) catalog and switch it back. I'm thinking I could do a system restore but am not sure that's the most efficient way to fix this problem.

I use Terramodel 10.43 and Autocad Lt2008. I convert files to terramodel and back to autocad, everyday. My question is any conversion files for terramodel. e.g. the ACADimport.acf file, or ACADexport.acf.

I'm running into a file conversion issue at work. I use Inventor 2008 and i need to have my assembly miodels analyzed by stress engineering via Pro/E Wildfire.
I've tried converting the assembly file to .iges and .step. However, the assemblies are jumbled in the conversion. All the parts are there, but the constraints are not. In the past, the assemblies have been small enough that the stress engineer was able to reassemble the parts in Pro/E. This current project, however, is much to large to do so.
If I were to purchase Inventor 2013, could I save the files with the Pro/E native file extensions directly?
Is there a way to programatically convert CS5 and CS6 illustrator files to lower versions (CS4, CS3 etc) programatically. Are there any third party tools to do it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am converting my proprietary RAW files on my hardrive and LR4 catalogue to DNG files for the main reason of gaining extra space on my hard drive. I have ticked the 'delete original files after successful conversion' and they no longer appear on my hard drive, only the DNG files do but the space remaining on my hard drive is shrinking? Why is my drive not reading the extra space that should be now available?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have had a few instances where we get a file (PDF) from a client and then take it into Adobe Illustrator to add bleed and make a few marking on it for the cutter and then when we re pdf the document, a logo or element drops off the file and then my staff do not pick it up and end up printing the file and it is costing me huge money in waste. We can Rasterize the image in Photoshop before we make changes but then it is not practical to make the changes we need as nothing is vector anymore. Can we automate the solution (If there is one) with Switch?

Elements Organizer 11.0.0.0
Version principale : 11.0 (20120830.r.32025)
I am using Photoshop Elements 10 Version 10 (20110831.m.17215) and everytime I plug in a memory card to upload images it wants to upload every image on the card, even though it has previously uploaded images from that card, even though I have the "Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files)" box ticked in the preferences Camera or Card Reader section. This gets very frustrating and time consuming when I have to go through the images every single time to uncheck the images that have already been uploaded.
View 3 Replies View RelatedPSE 12 has a new feature under Preferences/Camera or Card Reader called "Alutomatically Stack RAW and JPEG." Checking this will stack a RAW & JPEG file combination, i.e., when shooting with the camera's RAW + JPEG setting checked. In my case PSE 12 appears to stack my Panasonic RAW files and each JPEG thumbnail shows the right facing arrow to expand the stack. When I click the arrow the arrow disappears but the stack does not expand to reveal the RAW file. The RAW file still exists on the hard drive, but I can't find any way to reveal it in PSE (I've not tried to re-import the RAW files because there are a lot of files in a lot of folders.) This is rather critical and needs to be fixed.

When I convert a Raw image to Jpg the file size is reduced but opened in CS3 the Image size appears unchanged. What is the correlation between image and file size? I thought the Image Size was the horizontal number of pixels x the vertical. If this is correct and the jpg has less pixels how can CS3 show it as having the same image size?
in addition what is the use of Image Size other than to indicate the print size at a given resolution?
I am working on Photoshop CS3 with 24 bits Bitmap files.
I would like to know how to convert a 24 bits Bitmap files to 565 RGB files.
Opening Nikon D300 jpg image (Bridge CS3/file/open with/photoshop) does a sRGB->aRGB conversion. Why?
The D300 metadata shows Color Mode RGB and Color Profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1 so that looks good. PS Color settings/Working Spaces/RGB is set for aRGB and Color Settings/Color Management Polices/RGB is set for Preserve Embedded Profiles (and the three check boxes are checked). I expected the sRGB embedded profile to be preserved but that isn't the case.
I like to use LAB fairly often and have done so in CS2 with no trouble. I'm on Windows XP Pro, 1 gb RAM.
Now that I've loaded CS3, same image converts to black. All over black. Edge to edge black. I mean BLACK!
All channels are active (L, a, b). No mask is in effect. My working
space is ProPhoto.
If I convert it back to RGB, the image is still there.
What's going on here with CS3? I've done the usual color settings. I've deleted my preferences.
Also, when loading PSCS3, a message always pops up saying "there must
be at least one document open to run this script!" Don't know where
that comes from either. I'm not trying to run any script, just opening Photoshop?
I'm thinking I'd better uninstall CS3 and start over. Before doing
so, though,
I have recently switched to shoot my photos in RAW format. I do the usual adjustments in Camera Raw and the hit "Open Image". Next is that I save my image as JPEG with the Maximum Quality. Once I look at my saved JPEG file though I find that most of them have a lot of noise and seem not to reflect any adjustments that I did to the RAW file.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI work in a school district that is running an old version of Adobe Photoshop CS3 in a Macintosh environment. The Macs are old 10.4.11 machines that would not print. So, I set up a Windows Server with Macintosh accessible folders and copied files to this server. I then had newer Windows 7 client machines available and copied the files over to their client machines. Some of the files came over to Windows as CS3, but others didn't. They show up as "File" in the format and not as CS3. Is there a workaround for this, or another way to get these files to Windows?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave been reading thread that one had posted about converting PSD to JPEG. From what I have read, seems as though no matter what you can not replicate the image you have created as PSD. I have worked on a photo that was taken on my BB and to my pleasant surprise have been able to correct several issues. I believe it looks so much better because of flattening and 16bit application.
Must say color, focus(originally was terribly out of focus) everything is great. However, cannot covert and keep the work I have already done with Photoshop. Can I convert to JPEG or any other format that allows sharing without sacrificing what I have as PSD ?
I am working with a .jpg(rgb) straight off of a camera, I have converted it to CMYK as this is a photograph that is going to be submitted and printed and they want it CMYK , obviously.
Now I am aware that CMYK isn't as 'colourful' as RGB so I understand that.. Only when I save my photograph and open it, it is completely different to the photoshop file. COMPLETELY! And even when I reopen it in photoshop it is different.. See the image/attachment below is Photoshop vs Just open...
I have tried just the simple
Save As > .jpg
Save for Web as Jpg
Save for Web as Png
they are all doing the same?
I use CS5 on a Mac.
