First time opening organizer in PSE 12, just bought and installed. On Windows 7. Previously had PSE 8. Told it to convert catalog, but every time it opens, it starts doing the face recognition process, and promptly crashes. Have tried the first few solutions in this thread: [URL] Stopped at entry #6, as I could not find the folder they were describing. And I am not interesting in downloading sqlite.

I get an error message saying that I should contact the disc drive manufacturer for the latest firmware before trying again. There is nothing wrong with the disc drive - it works perfectly with every other application. I open the disc drive in the control panel and can see the files I need are there. I have tried copying the files to my hard drive, removed the cd, and tried to restore via the hard drive option and still get the same error message.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am upgrading from Photoshop Elements 9 to version 12 and loading it onto a new computer running Windows 8.2. To move the Organizer Catalog I have tried several time to create a backup on an external hard drive from version 9 so i can restore it on the new computer with the upgraded software. Each time i run the backup the process stops and displays an error message "Error encountered while writing files". This occurs when the process is approximately 75% complete. There are 12,326 items in the catalog, the estimated "media size" needed it 142,891.30 MB, i have 339 GB of free space on the external hard drive.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to convert an Elements Organizer version 11 catalog to version 12 running on OS-X Lion. It has been running for two days stuck at 37% and appears to be cycling through files with the name breeze-xxx.XML files in the BreezeData folder. It appears to be running since the breeze file names change about every 30-60 seconds. Is this normal or should I cancel and try a different approach? I checked the BreezeData folder and there are approximately 57K breeze-xxx.XML files and my catalog has approximately 56K images.

The Organizer just makes things very difficult. How can I turn it off and have a simple directory tree straight out of Windows to locate my images for processing. Paintshop Pro does this very well. I DO NOT need all the fancy bells and whistles found in Organizer.

Adobe Elements 12 Organizer reminds me to backup my catalog about every third time I open it.
So, I did a backup to my Drobo5N.
Every single time, no matter how long I let the backup run, it stops at 96% and OS X 10.9.2 shows the program as 'not responding' so I have to force close it.
My Elements 8 has suddenly stopped generating thumbnails in the Catelog Organiser when more than 4 photos are viewed - how do I cure this?

Backing up the catalog is cumbersome since it is 337G. If I need to break it up into smaller pieces, what is the best way to do this? Is there a bridge or link between catalogs?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 17,900 photos and videos in a directory structure organized by date (folders for year, with sub folders for month, day etc). Recently, Organizer refuses to display newly added folders in the folder tree. That is, I create the new folder, and rename with a date, at which point it vanishes from the display. It still appears in Microsoft Explorer. It looks like there is some limit on the number of folders you can have in Organizer, but surely that is absurd?
I have a new Windows 7 PC, running on a home network (total 3 PCs). All have (legal) copies of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements. Files are stored on a NAS in a shared directory.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen deleting photo's from the organiser, PSE asks if i only want te remove the file from the organizer catalogue, or as well from the disk. In fact, i always want to do that. Now, it takes 2 clicks to confirm to delete a photo, which is time-consuming.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using PSE 11 & Windows 7. Was working just fine. I opened up some RAW photos through the organizer; selected a file to view, and clicked on editor > photo editor to open and edit it. This worked fine, too. It would open in the RAW editing window first (where I make the RAW adjustments like exposure, etc.) and then I'd click open image and edit in PSE 11 just like I wanted to.
I did this for several photos, got up to go to the bathroom, and came back to my cat on my laptop keyboard. Of course.
Now, after rebooting, reopening PSE, rebooting again,I cannot view my photo in the editor. I go to PSE organizer, find my RAW photo, and click on editor > photo editor just like I used to. It flashes "edit in progress" just like it should, flips over to the empty PSE 11 window, and just sits there. Empty. The photo's not showing up.
I've clicked every button/setting/menu I can find. In the bottom toolbar there's the option "show open files" or "show files selected in organizer". When I click "show files selected in organizer", a tiny preview of the photo I'd selected shows up in the lower toolbar, but not in the main gray workspace. Taunting me. I've click-dragged, right clicked, etc. when I just try to open the file from PSE, instead of going through organizer, it doesn't work either.
My pse10 organizer just stopped opening. crashed.Have been working with organizer for years.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open Photoshop Elements Organizer it either crashes before opening or very soon after. I am able to use the editor, but not the organizer. I ahve removed all older versions, disabled my anti-virus software, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times with no luck. I have a Dell Laptop with windows 7 - 64 bit operating system and dual quad processor. I have used several versions of Elements and have never had this problem before. The last version that I had installed and worked was version 8.

By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !

It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.

The catalog is named My Catalog 2 is located at C:ProgramDataAdobeElements OrganizerCatalogsMy Catalog 2. It is the only catalog I use and is the one that opens up when I launch Organizer. But, for the life of me, I can't get it to show up in the Catalog Manager. The only catalog that shows up is the original catalog which is at a different location and was created when I installed PSE11 on my new computer (Thinkpad W530, Windows 8). I've tried the Custom Location option and browsing to the location, but still no dice. This catalog has thousands of pictures and was converted from my previous PSE6 catalog. How do I get the Catalog Manager to find my current active catalog?
I have PSE7 from before and recently purchased CS6. I want to keep using PSE as an organizer and edit in CS6. When opening a raw file (CR2) from the organizer to CS using Ctrl-h the image opens directly in CS without opening in Camera Raw first. If I open an image directly in CS it goes through CR first. How do I send the image directly to Camera Raw and then to CS from the organizer? I am running on Windows 7 64 bit. The Camera Raw for PSE7 if 5.6 and 7.3 for CS6.
