Jul 22, 2013I am trying to restore a catalog in pse organizer. I get an error message saying that I should contact the disc drive manufacturer for the latest firmware before trying again. There is nothing wrong with the disc drive - it works perfectly with every other application. I open the disc drive in the control panel and can see the files I need are there. I have tried copying the files to my hard drive, removed the cd, and tried to restore via the hard drive option and still get the same error message.

Mar 8, 2012I've used Lightroom since the beginning but am having issues with LR4. One of the problems I am facing is that when I backup my LR database that it brings my entire system to a complete hault for over an hour. It seems to do that during the optimize catalog phase. I can't do anything else on my computer as my mouse and everything else freezes until the very slow backup completes. I didn't have this issue with any other version of LR. I first had this problem on my computer after upgrading my LR3. When I encountered this and other problems (mostly related to locking up or working very slow) I started with a fresh hard drive and re-installed windows and LR but still had the same problems.
I'm using Windows Vista 64, 8gb of RAM, 2.83 Ghz, a fast drive with loads of extra space, etc. I do have a large LR database (7gb) but I had that in LR3 as well.
Lightroom :: 5 - Can't Optimize Or Reimport Catalog
Feb 28, 2014I can't optimize my main catalog any more. LR5 sends the error message that I have to restart it in order to check the integrity of the catalog. It then restarts without problems, but I face the same error again when trying to optimize.
Importing the old catalog or a copy of it into a newly created one does not work at all, LR states that it can not created a temporary copy necessary for this. Changing directories or drives does not work either.
The catalog seems to work fine once I open it, but I can't check fpr its integrity,
Photoshop Elements :: Moving The Organizer Catalog To A New Computer?
Feb 27, 2014I am upgrading from Photoshop Elements 9 to version 12 and loading it onto a new computer running Windows 8.2. To move the Organizer Catalog I have tried several time to create a backup on an external hard drive from version 9 so i can restore it on the new computer with the upgraded software. Each time i run the backup the process stops and displays an error message "Error encountered while writing files". This occurs when the process is approximately 75% complete. There are 12,326 items in the catalog, the estimated "media size" needed it 142,891.30 MB, i have 339 GB of free space on the external hard drive.

It has been running for two days stuck at 37% and appears to be cycling through files with the name breeze-xxx.XML files in the BreezeData folder. It appears to be running since the breeze file names change about every 30-60 seconds. Is this normal or should I cancel and try a different approach? I checked the BreezeData folder and there are approximately 57K breeze-xxx.XML files and my catalog has approximately 56K images.

How can I turn it off and have a simple directory tree straight out of Windows to locate my images for processing. Paintshop Pro does this very well. I DO NOT need all the fancy bells and whistles found in Organizer.

Adobe Elements 12 Organizer reminds me to backup my catalog about every third time I open it.
So, I did a backup to my Drobo5N.
Every single time, no matter how long I let the backup run, it stops at 96% and OS X 10.9.2 shows the program as 'not responding' so I have to force close it.

Oct 5, 2012I have 17,900 photos and videos in a directory structure organized by date (folders for year, with sub folders for month, day etc). Recently, Organizer refuses to display newly added folders in the folder tree. That is, I create the new folder, and rename with a date, at which point it vanishes from the display. It still appears in Microsoft Explorer. It looks like there is some limit on the number of folders you can have in Organizer, but surely that is absurd?
I have a new Windows 7 PC, running on a home network (total 3 PCs). All have (legal) copies of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements. Files are stored on a NAS in a shared directory.

Lightroom :: How To Repair Corrupt LR4 Catalog
Jun 10, 2013I use Adobe Lightroom 4.3 64bit and am having problem with a corrupt catalog. The catalog contains a couple years of exposures with approx 87,000 photographs. I am running LR on Win 7 with quad core CPU and 10Mb RAM. I have used Lightroom for couple years and only problems I had experienced have been intermittent performance issues with LR. The years of photographs are in RAW format with editing in Develop module.
I was using Lightroom 4.3 and it froze the computer while using develop module. I had to power off to reboot and LR catalog was corrupted. I reverted to the LR backup (I back up daily). After importing photographs, LR once again froze the computer during Develop work. And, another backup was corrupted.
I went ahead and upgraded to LR 4.4 in hope that this will improve the situation. I ran chkdsk and other system utilities as well.I need Adobe to repair this corrupt catalog so I don;t keep wasting my time.

I have tried deleting this file (trashing it on my MAC OS 10.8.4) but each time I try to open I get the same message and the .lock file reappears. I did not back-up my catalog so I only have my Lightroom 3 catalog to restore from.

Aug 24, 2012After several moves of pictures to a new disc (via File, Move within Photoshop Elements Organiser 9) the folder view no longer shows the correct photos. The photos are in the correct locations and the properties also show the correct location. If I select a directory in folder view however, several photos are shown that are not in that directory.
I tried to repair the catalog, but that didn't change the problem.
I am very much missing a facility in the Organiser to move directories, a complete directory tree or just the disk letter of my catalog.

The photos are dirty and wet, but they can be cleaned and dehumidified. Many photos have now areas with ruined colors and "fire blizzards" on it. can I prepare damaged photos with Photoshop elements (8, 9 or 11) in that way, that I get back a good picture?
