View 2 RepliesI have some brushes that I'd used in Photoshop CS4 (still have Photoshop cs4 on my system) I'd purchased the CS6 Master Suite - and don't have those brushes in PS6.
I navigated to my Photoshop CS4 installation into Presets>Brushes thinking to Copy and Paste them into my PS6 installation, and don't see them there. Have looked both in 64 bit and 32 bit program area (I'm running Windows 7 64 bit system), and can't find all those brush presets anywhere.
Have tried searching for .abr files from the start menu but that's not pulling anything up (not even the ones installed with CS6 so not sure how to use that search properly or if it can't search by document type).
I just started using this new version of photoshop it seems nice and all, But when I go to use one of my custom brushes I have thats lighting on another layer and there is only 5 layers and the 5th one I can not add my brush effect of lighting to it.comes up with a not enough memory...now I built my own Desktop pc it had 8 cores AMD processor 4.0ghz and 32.gb quad core ram !... and I am running windows 8 pro on my main HD I am using right now. I never had this problem with the old photoshop cs5 version at all.
why didn't they test out 90% of all the bugs before releasing this app ?I need this for my business I do online creating graphics and digital art.if this is not fix within the next week fast. I will just cancel my membership and demand my money back and just go back to using photoshop CS 5 again.I went to this version cause they mentioned in the information about it that it's more suited for Wacom pen tablet intuos 5 multi touch.so it seems theres a memory leak in this version of photoshop and they really need to fix it fast.I would and plus I will also spam this about the app being poorly coded and programmed all over the net. !! even on youtube and record my use of it and how it has so many bad errors in it. and set as a warning not to buy this app till at least 3 years down the road when they have everything fixed in it in another version of it, like always ! cause of this I feel cheated and ripped off !
This use to be a matter of dragging my old brushes to the brushes folder. This doesn't seem to be the case with CC CS6. CS6 doesn't see any of my custom brushes.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a slew of neat brushes in PhotoShop CS2 that took a lot of hit and miss attempts to create. I'm talking about the brushes that show up on the drop-down menu, and not the Brush Presets.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to use a brush, the program slows down to a crawl. For instance: I open a 600 x 450 JPG and load a size 175 brush. Everything is fine until I increase the brush size. 175 - 900 is OK, but then the brush tip starts to lag like all hell. Reducing the brush size doesn't help. Apparently the problem also depends on the image size. When I load the same brush and a 1440 x 900 JPG, the lagging kicks in earlier. I tried changing the performance settings, but to no avail.
I'm using CS4 11.01 and Windows XP SP3.
How do I install and use custom brushes?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded some brushes off the internet, and while loading them into Photoshop, I accidentally clicked "Replace" (which is inexplicably set as the default), instead of "Append". ALL of the custom brushes that I've ever made were instantly gone. I never saved my brushes as an actual Set. So I don't have an .abr file with my brushes in it. But Photoshop has to store these brushes SOMEWHERE right? Please tell me they're not gone forever. Where does Photoshop store these brushes if they're not saved to a specific set?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have dowloaded some shapes and brushes from the extension pages of adobe for designs and graphics for commercial use. I have been looking for terms of use and copyright but most of the time could find any and even very often links to author are broken. Can anybody tell me if such elements dowloaded from adobe extension page are free for commercial use.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a list of brushes & custom shapes that were added or removed in the last four versions of Photoshop Elements. (v8-v11) I have already tried a Google search, which resulted in nothing. Before I spend hours making my own list, maybe Adobe has a list they can share or perhaps someone else has already taken the time to compile their own list.I am needing the information to cross reference as part of our teaching program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan parts of an Illustrator brush be removed or erased where they overlap on an angle. Obviously straight portions are not a problem and can be handled by moving the anchor point of the path. However, I have created a pattern brush with 6 parallel lines and I am designing a typeface for a Typography class. There are areas where the brush lines overlap.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi recently upgraded to 2.8 from 2.6 and i'm having a tough time importing my brushes. i've tried creating a custom folder in the 'brushes' folder and exporting them there. i've tried a simple drag and drop. nothing seems to work. am i missing something or is what i'm trying to do impossible?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to delete some of my custom brushes because I really don't care for them that much, but I haven't been able to figure out how?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI gave up on using artistic media brushes because I haven't been able to fix whatever is wrong. I want to be able to use them to create hair on a portrait I'm working on.
I decided to try am brushes again. So, I made three custom brushes and they turned out great. I used one to draw a hair and this caused Corel to freak out. The Object Manager froze and wasn't obeying my commands.
On trying to save a custom brush in gimp I got the following message :
GIMP MESSAGE:
Saving '/usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes/brush.gih' failed:
Could not open '/usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes/brush.gih' for writing: Permission denied.
Although I have successfully done this in the past ,for some reason it is now preventing me from saving them in the 'brushes' folder. Incidentally although the brushes I previously produced do NOT appear in this folder (despite having show all files ticked) they do appear in the gimp dialogue and I can use them.
Im using uberstudent (Linux)
I've checked gimp's 'preferences' to see if I have inadvertantly blocked access but cant see anything relevant..
Is there a way to make transparency on custom brushes? I had an idea to make custom brush sets similar to those used in photoshop. I know in Photoshop, Custom Brushes are done with opacity maps With white being transparent and black being full color and all the greys in between being different levels of transparent. I've tried doing that with custom brushes mini and I've also tried making the images transparent, but I just cant seem to make it work. I can get either completely solid and completely transparent. But nothing in between...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI created user defined AI brushes which I can't find to delete within MAC Lion. They are not in Library>Application Support>Adobe, because Adobe Illustrator folder does not exist there. They are not under Users either. Any clues as to were these custom brushes are buried?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to edit a custom palette externally and have successfully done it in the past but now Draw is "breaking" my new palette.
I created a new palette within Corel Draw and added a single color. This is to create the XML file and generate a unique GUID. I can open and the close this palette with no issues. I can add colors via Draw with no issues. I then close Draw. I then open the file with a text editor (NotePad) and add the code for my new colors (pulled from a spread sheet). My code matches the code in the Draw-generated palette color. It also matches the code from another palette I successfully created over a year ago. The file saves just fine and can be reopened in the text editor. I then reopen Draw but my palette name is no longer in the palette list. Then if I manually try and add the palette by opening it, it opens but strips all colors. Then if I open the XML file with the text editor, the GUID is now all zeros and all colors have been stripped from the file. I have tried rebuilding the workspace and rebooting the PC but neither option seems to work.
PS here is a sample line of code for one of the colors I am trying to add.
"<color
cs="RGB" name="RLM00 Wasserhell"
tints="0.980392156862745,0.968627450980392,0.945098039215686"/>"
I am trying to create a custom pattern by editing the PAT file but I can't seam to get it right The pattern is for a ceiling tile in which the pattern is 4 tiles (24''x96) follow by 1 Tile (4''x96)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to take a custom counter I created as a family and have it show a material in my project. It seems that no matter how I apply the material parameter to the family type object, type or instanced, the material does not change in the project when I apply any new material. I have opened up other countertops I have used from the Revit Default Casework Family and I can't seem to find a difference in the setup between mine and Revit. I wanted to use an instanced parameter so I can change the material per room where the object is used.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS5. The problem is that if I apply a custom camera color profile created by X-Rite Passport Color Checker, I can no longer use an external editor, such as Photoshop, to edit my photos. Before I apply the custom profile, the external editor function works just fine. If I apply a custom profile in the Camera Calibration panel, then the ability to use external editors no longer works. There is no error message, but nothing happens when I try to edit in an external editor. If I go back and turn off the custom profile and go back to Adobe Standard, then the external editor function works again. What is going on? Is there a way to make it possible to apply a custom profile in Camera Calibration and still be able to use the external editors?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Corel Draw X5 and I can't figure out how to add or edit colours in the CMYK (default) Custom Colour Palette. In X3 and earlier versions it was quite easy to add new colours and edit existing ones. I would also like to know how to move the order of the colours in the palette so that I can put one a custom colour near the top.
FYI I would like make these changes to the master / global CMYK palette, not just the one for a specific document palette.
