When I use the feather function in Ps, does the feathering start from the point of my selection (marching ants) outward to the designated number of pixels, or from the marching ants inward, or half and half, or what?
View 3 RepliesI draw a pline. It asks me for the start point. I type in INT. I used to get this 'x' when I was near the intersection. That is now gone. It will still go to the intersection, but I really want my 'x' back.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIf I have mad a selection with say an ellipse marque, of say 100px and now I want to fether that same selection outwards, ie to start the feather 10 px outward of the 100px selection so that the 100th px has a 100% transparency and the 110th px has a transparency of zero,thus making the new selection 110px, how could I go about doing it. With the current feathering of the selection, it feathers only in the marquee already selected, not outward, and you cannot place negative feathering px. I know that there is most likely some sort of a ration where you would expand the selection by a certain amount of px, and then apply a ratio of feathering to it to enalble it to feather outside of the 100px marquee.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've activated a feature without meaning to and don't know how to undo it. With the Rectangular Marquee Tool, the border shifts from a rectangle to a round-edged shape when I release the mouse after selecting an area. Then, when I cut that area, it lifts only a transparent portion of the selected area instead of the entire layer. How do I turn this off?
Also, I was once shown how to make use of the history brush to restore deleted / erased information along the edge of a shape that were overtaken by the magic wand. I've not been able to do that again on my own.

Is it possible to drag/move a point in an image so that all imaginary lines emanating from that point remain emanating from that point? Something like what's shown in the attachment.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to draw a plan of my house in Autocad 2009 but I seem to be endlessly using trim and extend because I can't easily select the points that I want with osnap. Eg. imagine I have a box, and I want to start drawing another box inside it that has each side as 10 units smaller than the corresponding side on the outer box.
Step 1 - I draw a small line from the top left corner of the big box using the endpoint snap, typing in "5" for the length.
Step 2 - I then do the same at right angles to the first line to get me to the starting point of the inner box. This always leaves me with 2 small lines to remember to delete.
Step 3 - Then in order to draw the top line of the inner box I end up drawing to a random length because I can't say "draw until 5 units away from the right hand side of the big box", then I end up trimming it later once I've repeated steps 1,2 and 3 for the next side of the inner box.
I know in my example above I could have scaled the box down or something but that's not what I'm getting at. I really want a way of selecting line start and end points that are a known position away from an existing point.
How do i move an object lets say for example 34 pixels down?
I know how to move an object with the mouse and i know how to nudge with the arrow keys, but but i need to make a macro that moves my layer the sam amount of pixels everytime, or even better if theres a way todo like this, "move object to x-234, y-103"

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe issue:When I ctrl+alt+right-click to select a layer, I can click the actual layer, or about 6 to 10 pixels below the layer. This latter option (the 10 pixel margin thing) is rather annoying when there's a layer below it, that happens to stick out 10 pixels underneath that layer.
It basically requires me to set the higher layer to invisible, and then rightclick again.There's a slight difference between pixel layers and vector layers, as vector layers seem to have a bigger "hitbox" than pixel ones.
The most annoying instances are layers with, for example, a one pixel line. You pretty much have to *guess* where to click, as everything is so close to eachother.I work in webdesign, and am working with pixel-perfect designs all the time, so this is something I deal with on a daily (read: every few minutes) basis.
My version of Photoshop
- CS6, update it frequently on my home PC & Work PC
It's worth mentioning that I didn't have this issue before CS6, and have been using PS for about a decade, +- 30 to 50 hours a week!
Before you claim it's the computer, the systems I've noticed this on:
- My home PC (16gb ram, couple SSD's for scratch disks, GTX670, core7 etc)
- My work PC (16gb ram, no scratch disks or fancy gfx card, core7 as well)
- Girlfriend's MacBook pro
- Her Mountain Lion running desktop (custom build, hackintosh)
+ several other PC's at work (programmers running wildly different systems and OSes)
We have several Adobe subscriptions; I have one, my girlfriend has one and at work we have about 3 or 4.So, it's probably not the computers.
I imported pictures, edited all of them, then noticed that they are small, eg. size 190 KB. Trouble!!! Is there any way to link the edited images with the full size images that are of several MB's?? Hate to lose all the work that was done in editing.

I use Paint.NET for cut background from photos of Mask for this nice project: Masks In photoshop i can use expand selection for cutting 1 pixel more then i just selected. In Paint.Net i usualy skip this step and images has white/black thread around the mask.

How do you see the size of a selection (in pixels?). In Photoshop this would be in the info dialogue window. I'm not finding the equivalent in GIMP (2.6).

This is the original message in Dutch: "Sommige startframenummers van hoofdstukken zijn groter dan het aantal frames". 533:-2147216477:0 Translation: "Some start frame numbers of chapters are greater than the number of frames"

The situation: I have all the same video files (H.264, 24 bits, 25.000 f/s) [worked with this kind of files a couple times and worked alway very well] I have added some tekst and pictures. Total length of video is 01:50 hour. Starting the procedure DVD creating, with burning the DVD folders on my harddisc. Afther the burning proces I got the fault message.
After creating the DVD map I got the fault message (as describbed above) and found on my harddisc the VIDEO_TS folder with 5 files VTS_01_1 till VTS_01_5. The total time of these loose files is ca. 76 minutes. So I missed a hughe chunk. I got the same fault message when I have created chapters within the videofile but also when I created chapters later at the video menu.
When I do not burning a DVD folder but select creating a video file (DVD-video) than I get separated end files instead of just one big file. Maybe this has the same cause?
I am currently selecting 10 objects from a picture and then I delete the background. This leaves just the 10 objects of interest in the image.
I have hundreds of these images and would like to compare the number of pixels or diameter of the objects across the images for each of the 10 objects. Is there a way I can automate Photoshop to go through a directory of images and measure the pixels of each of the 10 objects, and then export those measurements to a file?
if there is any way to close path quickly without clicking on the start point? With Polygonal Lasso we can do double click for this case but with paths?...

I have 2 open documents, I made a rough selection in document number one & was able to successfully create a layer out of that selection.
From the layers palette, I drag that selection layer roughly where I would like it to be on top of document number two…
the selection layer from document number one is a little too big… How do I resize the selection I made in document number one?
Do I need to resize document number one before I make the selection?
Or…
Can I resize the selection after putting it on top of document number two?
Need to achieve something similar to the attached picture. I like the way the dot follow a contour and the has gradient sections.
