Aug 2, 2012Any method in GIMP that can be used for cutting out flowing "Blonde" hair from a Multicoloured background using the "Channels". It seems that it can be done using Photoshop, but there do not seem to be any tutorials around for GIMP. There are heaps for cutting out dark coloured hair from all sorts of backgrounds but nothing to cut out flowing blonde hair from a multicoloured background.

Mar 2, 2012I've literally spent my whole night trying to get this down. Can't seem to even get close. Edit>Transform>Warp is more of a hassle if anything. Prespective barley works and using the Text toolbar warp tool is basically useless.
How would you go about wrapping text around the hat in this picture? people on youtube post videos of wrapping around a circle or a cup. Any 4 year old can do that, the hat is at an AWKWARD angle and facing down at a prespective.
Whats the best way to warp my text just like 'OBEY' text and the quickest, I am struggling and getting nowhere.
Photoshop :: Hair Color (Black Hair To White)
Aug 12, 2007trying every layer mask combo I could think of to create a realistic shade of white hair that doesn't look like I just used the brush tool to make it.
I've tried lighting up the shadows with the curves option then using the selective color option. But all that does is make a very fake looking film to put over the eyebrows (ya it's eyebrows I'm working on, I'm trying to get them to match a white wig the subject is wearing.)
I've also tried using the solid color option, and a color overlay and that just came out weird.
Has anyone ever turned pitch black hair to white and had it still look like hair?

Aug 1, 2011I have downloaded an eps file, which I need to cut. I use a graphtec ce5000-60 cutter, and a plugin called cutting master 2 in order to use coreldraw.
when i select application launcher and choose cut / plot, it opens cutting master. when i do this, it only shows the 2 outer lines of the logo i need to cut. I have attached a screenshot so you can see exactly what I mean. I have tried lots of things to recitfy this, but as a complete beginner with this software, I really dont have a clue.Â

Aug 2, 2012Is there a way to cut a solid into two pieces using a non-planar cutting plane? I have been tasked with calculating the volume of concrete damage in a chute block. I have a sketch of the damage on the chute block. I created the chute block as a solid and then drew the damaged area extents using plines. This created non-planar plines. Is there a way to get this to work that will allow me to see the volume of the concrete damage? I need an easy way to do this, there are 50 chute blocks all the same size but with varying degrees of damage

Oct 1, 2004I have this picture, of course a jpeg, so the quality sucks, and i'm having problems selecting the two girls' hair. It blends into the background to where i almost have an impossible time seeing it at all but if i just cut it out it doesn't look natural anymore.

Mar 23, 2008I am having trouble with my cross hair not showing the size of my brushes or clones (where it shows a circle around the cross hair to know what size the brushes are) - this has happened before and someone told me to shut it down, and re-open photoshop, but it is not working!
I just made a logo brush, and can't see the brush until I actually stamp it on my picture. I've looked around trying to see if there is a "box not checked" somewhere that would allow me to see the brush size before I start using it, no luck.

Dec 6, 2007Changing hair color ou adding highlight is pretty easy if the hair is very light color (ex: blonde) but with dark hair it gets alot trickier and i am never happy with the final results...
What kind of techniques do you guys use to do this? best thing I can can up with is using color replacement tool... but the highlights and so ... its just not a vivid convencing look.

Apr 2, 2006trying to use channels to make certain extractions.
I've attached a before and after. What I would like to see is somebody elses extraction of the same image to see how it should be or can be done. I put it on a black background to catch the errors.
I duplicated the blue channel, applied a level to darken the dark areas then burned the midtones...and painted with black. copied into the quickmask.
I've read a zillion tutorials on the channel extract, channels an I have never seen eye to eye.
