how I could create one of those images that uses hundreds of images to create one image using the colors in each picture to take the color of the area it is representing in the big picture. I know there is a word for this type of picture, but can't think of it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to resize an image without loosing picture quality but I'm not making it larger - I'm making it smaller. For example, there are small stars in the background which seem get deleted when I resize it.
But here's the thing - After resizing it (but before "confirming" my changes), it looks perfect. Then I hit enter and then it deletes certain details. Basically I can look at the image at the size and quality I want in PS but I can't save it that way. And it's not a matter of saving it with a higher quality level, it happens as soon as I resize. WTF?
I have Paint Shop Pro PHOTO XI. I want to shrink a photograph so when it's printed on a standard 6x4 print the picture only takes up a part of the print. Is this possible? If so, how do I go about it?

However, occasionally (for advertising purposes) I would love to create a "3D" version of the insert (i.e., with the front cover, the spine, and the back cover showing "realistically") from the flat "2D" version I've created...
Is this possible within PS CS3, or a combination of PS, Illustrator, etc.?!?!

I have Photshop CS4. I create a picture with a specific size in Photoshop (eample: 8.5" x 11"). I send it to the printer. In the printer box it also shows the correct print size. However when it prints it is only a small sample of the picture. An 8.5' x 11" picture from Photoshop, showing that size in the Image box and in the Photoshop print box, when sent to the printer shows at the correct size and prints it at 2-3/4" x 3-1/2". If i save the picture from Photoshop onto my desktop, then open it in Microsogt Office Picture Manager, then send it to the exact same printer, it is printed out at the correct size. I don't know why it will not print it to the correct size from Photoshop.

I like Capture NX becuase I am one who likes to be in fulll control of my picture management. I download my NEFS to a folder, convert to JPEG and save them in another folder and then transfer the jpegs to manually created folders on a NAS. Will LR3 control me by creating and maaging it's own picture database or do I have the ability to manage pictures like I'm currently doing?

When I go to the top and click on layer and try to make it smaller, it disappears althogther. How does the crop tool work? I'm getting a color shift only on small images (150x150px or smaller) when I save for web in Photoshop CC and CS6. That's very weird as it doesn't happen to images larger than 150x150px! That issue happens with images with different measurements as well (e.g. rectangle), the small looks dull and the larger display the right color.
My Color Settings are set to "Monitor Color". Under save for web I have the following options not ticked: Embed Color Profile and Convert to sRGB. (viget.com/inspire/the-mysterious-save-for-web-color-shift)
I'm running the OS X 10.8.4 on a macbook pro, I tested that on both, Safari 6.0.5 and FF.
The squares in the screenshot were saved exatly the same way. The largerer displays the right color #FFCB32, but the smaller displays the color wrong.
I have designed an album cover using some jpeg elements as well as vector based text and background color. I set the project resolution as 300 ppi. The size is 2.0 inch x 2.0 inch. So when i save that as a jpeg i get a file size of around 250 kb. I was hoping to get this file size down to around 100 kb or so for web use, without loosing the sharpness of detail.
I have tried the following : Image size: I change ppi resolution to 72. The picture than gets way too small to be able to post on a website. Is it possible to lower the file resolution for webuse without changing the file size?
I've been having a problem with making a text box in photoshop.. Everything used to work okay but now the text is REALLY small when I type in the box.. Like you can barely see it. If I make it 400 font it looks finally visible but barely...
Its the same thing no matter which font I choose. My document size is only 1000x500 so its really weird.. Plus I didn't have this problem before, but now I do, everytime photoshop loads its the same thing. How do I fix this strange issue?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy is Photoshop CC displaying images 25% smaller than my other applications? If I open a 72 ppi square pixel aspect image in Photoshop, I have to zoom to 125% for it to be the same size on screen as in my browser or any other image viewer. Photoshop reads the correct pixel sizes, but displays it smaller.
I design and build websites and have been using Photoshop for over 15 years and haven't noticed this until CC. If I save the images and build out the site, or even just drag the image into a browser and then overlay that browser window above the Photoshop window to see both images side by side, I can clearly see a 25% difference in size.
If I zoom in Photoshop to 125%, then the sizes match. So, the problem is when designing a website, everything looks smaller in photoshop. Then when I build it out, everything is way too big.
My browsers are definitely at 100% zoom and I can open the image in any other image viewer at 100% and the affect is the same. Is there a setting that can be adjusted in Photoshop to correct this?
