am attempting to use the wind filter on text but when I attempt to use the filter it is greyed out and not available.I have followed several turorials and attempted to look it up in a book I have but am missing something. I have typed the text on a background, rasterized it according to instructions, then when I attempt to use the filter it is greyed out and I am not able to select it.
After some time my filter->wind doesn´t work properly. Instead of the wind going outside the figure it makes it go inwards. I mean the area of the figure decreases instead of increasing.
I've had this problem with the wind filter for a while now. For some reason, when I try to apply the filter, the actual wind effect doesn't appear. Instead, part of the object is cut away, as if the background was being "blown" onto the object. I'm usually applying the filter to text,
my Wind Filter is not creating the "tracers" or "trails" that I am used to seeing. My goal is to create a motion effect on white text. The "tails" are not growing in length when I duplicate the filter over & over like it should.  Example: This is the text after applying the filter once. Here is an example after the 3rd time of applying the Wind Filter.  the streaks are remaining within the text. It's not creating the trailing streaks that I need.
i have a bit history of 3dsm5 and psp, 2 weeks ago i started with PS and I love it very much so far, but I have a problem that's bugging me were i can't get around.
When I want to apply the filter "Wind" effect then this effect goes inwards into a layer, and i want it to go outwards.
downloaded photoshop 7.0. I also found a plug in called gif -x. I installed both and tried follow a tutorial's instructions. The tutorial said I had to open the pic I wanted to edit, select it, then I had to select Filter - Ulead Effects - then the gif -x thing. But when I click on the filter button, all the selections under it, including 'Ulead Effects' were dimmed. I couldn't use any filter functions!
On cs5 when I try to use the "charcoal" filter in the sketch option all I get is a blank white space. What am I doing wrong ? Some of the other filt4ers in the options work
I own CS6 and just downloaded the Photoshop CC trial version. I cannot get the oilpaint filter to work in either. I must be missing something. When I open a photo, select filters and then oilpaint - all I get is the grey screen (with the oilpaint tools). But no photo is there for me to apply the filter effect.
i just got photoshop CS and at the beggining all the filter options workedbut now they dont anymore when i want to make some wind i cant because the button is like gray(cant press it)......
This is the first time I have tried to use this filter, all the other filters, brush, grad & healing, work correctly. When selected the + curser appears but no amount of clicking & dragging will yield any selection. Â LR 5.3 Windows 7 Pro 64
I have created a somewhat complex vector using image trace and i now have a black and white image. I wante to use the color halftone filter to create a black and white halftone pattern but everytime i use the color halftone filter to get the results i want, nothing happens. When i click on the vector the halftone filter appears in the appreances panel but the effect does not show on the image on my artboard. why cant i get the filter to show?
A couple of days ago, The exact same thing started happening with LR3.6. I was hoping updating would do the trick but the exact same thing takes place. With an adjustment brush, when clicking on the image, it, the image, disappears as soon as I click on it. Same thing with gradient filter, the image disappears when I start dragging. Switching to the Library Module, my image is still there. For my image to reappear I have to select another image and go back to my initial image. Even then, I am still "holding" my brush even though my "Tools Strip" is not open. To get rid of the brush, I have to select it AND deselect it for it to disappear.Only then I can do further editing on that particular file that does not involve brush and/or gradient filter. Everything else seems to be working properly. This never happened until 3 days ago and I did not download any new program.  Win 7 Pro, Service Pack 1, 64 bit, RAM 16GB, Working only on RAW filesÂ
I was fallowing your the directions to make fire text but when it got to the part to use the wind filter it was there but not highlighted so i could use it!! Any ideas why and how can i fix it? Before you ask I have photoshop cs2 updated!!
I recently got Ps CS3 and I love the wind filter in CS2 but in CS3 the results come out way different. I was wondering if that is the new wind filter or is there some thing wrong. Is there a way to fix it.
In CS2 the wind effect showed up outside of the text, but in CS3 it is showing up inside the text.
I am trying to make a wind effect on some text. at first this was working and looked really good. but later i tried doing it again on some different text and instead of giving the wind effect, it just kinda put horizontal lines through the text.
i have just got into image editing (got photoshop 8 cs last week) and i have been learning from tutorials. the first image i did used the wind effect to make the text look like ice. and i want to use it again. the first time i made the ice text it all went fine, but when i want to use it again it wont work. when i click wind, instead ofthe wind effect coming OUT FROM the text, It goes INTO the text, like its inverted or something.
one other thing, i saw in the flash movie of photoshop that you can change colours of different things, eg, cpply the texture of a chicken onto a fox, or turn a black woman into a white woman.
how to do this effect to an image, it looks like some kind of wind effect, but it is directed to the center of the image and I don't know how to do that,
how they made the black lines that are near the eyes of the cyborg ninja....
I'm wondering how to do glowing text over a background image. What I am looking for is the technique used on the title text from the show "Smallville"
Here are the restrictions:
-Background image (obviously background layer)
-Glowing text (but not regular font. I made some font and just saved as black and white image)
I have spent a while looking for the technique, but nothing seemed to work well. I applied a Gaussian filter, weird polar coordinates thing (seen from another site), and Wind effect.
The wind effect seems closest. However, when I force a black and white text image to have the wind effect, the background of the white glowing text remains black and it looks bad if I just make the black transparent.
One problem which i have and it seems that it is really taking wind out of me.... Th problem is one of my client requires a effect of PAGE PEEL... means we have a scanned photograph and we want to give a realistic effect that someone has teared that photo from right top to center... I really try out all the things which r there in my book but couldnt get one..
I use the wind tool a lot and here recently it's been blowing into my layer instead of away from it. No matter what kind of layer I present it always blows into it.
For long time I am trying to learn a trick in Photoshop. [I am on Photoshop 6 by the way, so please, don’t laugh. I am on Windows XP]
I am talking about background removal. I have thoroughly searched Internet for articles on this topic. I found many ways to remove an object from its original background. All those methods work just great. But, there is one think I never was able to accomplish. I was never able to delete background from within such part of the photo like hairs fluffing in the wind, or hairs ruffled by the wind.
I can easily separate an object with clear edges from its background. But how can effectively remove background from behind hairs on this photos?
I have an error that pops up saying "Could not complete the Wind command because there is not enough memory (RAM)."It has nothing to do with saving. I can do some smaller things like Render/Difference Clouds, but not that. Also my white colors appear a little peach colored.
What would be the best way to create a wind tunnel model that you can then put different shapes into to see how aerodynamic they are and look at the friction and turbulence?
Using Corel VS X4. I am trying to reduce or remove wind noise from video clips. These clips also have narration, which at times is inaudible due to the background wind noise! Any way to remove or reduce this background noise?
