Photoshop :: Can't Open Iphoto (JPG) Files
Dec 5, 2006I have OS X and am using photoshop CS version 8. Should there be a .jpg plugin?
Could upgrading Quicktime make a diference?

Photoshop Elements :: RAW Files In IPhoto Open As JPG In 10?
Dec 20, 2012I have a new Mac Air, and have been using Iphoto '11 (9.4.2). I downloaded PSE 10 through the App Store. In Iphoto I have clicked the "advanced" tabs to use PSE 10 as external editor and to export files as RAW. However, whenever I try to open a RAW file in PSE 10, it becomes a JPEG. This is true for both NEF (Nikon d300) and RAF (Fujix-100) files. It is also true whether I try to open the file through Iphoto by clicking the edit button (with PSE 10 as the external editor), or opening the Iphoto file directly through PSE 10. Also, when in Iphoto, it shows the file accurately as either NEF or RAF), and I can use the RAW editing in Iphoto.
Meanwhile, PSE 10 has no problem opening either type as RAW when I use a source different than Iphoto, for example from the memory card directly out of the cameras.

Sep 8, 2012Before upgrading to PSE 10 for Mac, I would select a photo in iPhoto, click on edit and PSE 8 would open with the selected photo. Now PSE 10 will open but, there is no photo open in PSE 10.

Jan 5, 2014I have a Mac with OSX8 and have previously been using PSE9 without any trouble. I've recently installed PSE12 but it cannot access the pictures in my iPhoto library for editing, even though I've changed the iPhoto settings to use PSE12 as the external editor. When I right click a picture in iPhoto and then click "edit in external editor", PSE12 opens but the worksurface is empty, and I can't figure out how to open the picture for editing. I have no problem editing photos that are on my desktop, so the problem seems to lie in communication between iPhoto and PSE12. I never had this problem with PSE9.

Jan 5, 2013I have just upgraded from Elements 9 to 11. I had no issues exporting from iphoto to 9, worked a treat. I have configured everything exactly the same, checked and double checked all the preferences and it will not work automatically. I can manually export to my desk to and it works fine, the raw file shows up in the bridging application and I can do whatever I need to. However, this is a bit long winded and as it worked so well before it is a little frustrating..

Jan 14, 2014I downloaded a trial version of Elements 12. I used Elements 6 a few years ago on a PC, now I have a MAC and there's a lot of difference between version 6 and 12. Jan 25, 2013About a month and a half ago, after a microsoft update, I cannot open .cdr files from the file/open list. When going to file/open, the programs hangs up, cannot even use "cancel", and have to go to Windows Task Manager to shut down the program. All is well until I try to open a file from file/open.
I can import .eps, and everything else seems fine.My work around is to open from My Documents --Which works fine. Just is a silly little aggravation.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired, etc....all the normal fixes.
Maya :: Won't Open / Save Files / Open Certain Menu
Jun 7, 2012I recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:
Could not find maya.utils._guiExceptHook.

GIMP :: (too Many Open Files) Error When Saving Or Open
May 6, 2013I'm using Gimp 2.8.4 on a MacBook Pro.
I have been working on an image file for several hours now, and as a result, there were MANY files open (probably over 30).
I attempted to save the file, and recieved the following error message:
"Could not read the contents of [folder name] Too many open files"
I then closed each of the open files except the file I was trying to save, but got the same results.
The same error message pops up when I try to open a file as well.

Mar 1, 2013I'm working with both Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 on a mac. I'm creating a graphic. The background is a (cartoonish) mouth and I finished it a couple of days ago. (It's an Illustrator file.) I've been working on the letters to go inside of the mouth, (Once I'm finished it'll look as though they're being crushed.) I scanned and edited small wooden letters in Photoshop, and now I would like to work with them with the background in Illustrator. I understand how to open a Photoshop file in Illustrator, but I don't want to open the document as a separate Illustrator file. Is there a way to open a file from Photoshop as a second layer?
Some of the letters repeat as well. Will I have to create two files for this, or can I open the same file twice?

I'm now stuck in Chapter 10, editing Videos, because I cannot open two files needed to proceed with the next excercise. I'm not able to open 3 of the 9 files in Photoshop, even tried to drag, change format, etc. All the other files with formats like MP4 and JPG have no problem opening, only those with MP3 & MOV extensions. I Should note that I can open all the files directly from windows file explorer or using Bridge, through Quicktime.
Bellow, is the message i get when I try to move the file to Photoshop.
"Could not complete your request beacuse the video file could not be open"
