In previous versions of Photoshop, using the line tool had the advantage of being able to freely reposition the segment by pressing the SpaceBar key. This modifier function seems to be missing in CS6.
This really cripples the versatility of the tool for me. Is there a pref I've overlooked somewhere that restores this? Is this by design or is it a bug?
I am experiencing two problems. One is the tool icons in Photoshop are disappearing on the screen. I move the cursor and see nothing on my screen.
The second problem is at other times the proper tool icon and function is not showing up and working. I select for example the pen tool and the hand tool icon show up and the function works as the hand tool not the pen tool?
my friend got me PS C3 so I could upgrade but it doesnt have the "merge to HDR" option on it.. why is this?

This will probably be a simple fix, but I can't get any text to cap with the extrude modifier or bevel modifier. It happens with every typeface I've tried. I even tried using the cap holes modifier. Never had this problem with previous version of 3Ds.

I went out today and bought the Wacom Bamboo and it was/is working fine
other then me needing to get used to it an learn it. Mentioning this because
I'm not sure if it is related to my problem or not.
My problem is: Lost function to some tools like, clone stamp, paint brush, dodge/burn etc. I can click on them but when I try to use them nothing happens. But my history pallet shows it was used.
I saw the tutorial regarding pet eye removal. That tool does not show up when I go to the red eye removal tool.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI draw a line with the pen tool, right click and then 'stroke' the pen line with a brush (for example). I imagine I've done this successfully thousands of times but for some reason it just isn't working today (or yesterday actually!). When I right click then go down to 'stroke' nothing happens at all.
However it does work if I go into the 'paths' palette, right click on 'work path' and stroke the pen line with the brush.
As mentioned in my topic before, I have recently reverted to Max 2008.
I am doing a bit of Unwrapping, however I am missing the unwrap spline tool found in the Unwrap UVW modifier in more recent versions of max.
Does this exist in 08?
I am trying to draw a line. Now all of a sudden, there is a stupid arrow. how to do i turn this annoying freature off?
As well, I want to draw multiple lines on one layer, however everytime I draw a line, i get a new layer!
I want to erase the watermark and x mark from a istock image for comping purposes. What is the easiest/fastest way to do this? Clone Stamp/patch tool? If stamp tool, how do you get the tool to delete the x line in a straight line. Mine always copys pixels next to it.

On paint it shows exactly how the line looks as ur drawing it,
but on Photoshop it shows some rectangle outline of the line.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThere's mention of a "tool presets" function. e.g. you set up your box tool just so (colors, alpha blend, thickness etc) and could then save this as "my blue box #2" etc to be recalled later instead of a ton of clicks to set it up the way you want. Is this possible to do somehow & I just missed it? are there any plugins or something that could enable a feature like this?

1. if i draw a line using the line tool.. can i curve it to say 40 degrees like i can with the text function?
2. So ya that one was easy.. hows bout when i want to cut something out ACCURATELY, the pen function, right? (according to a friend)when i make all those little boxes and select the area i want to cut, all that gets copied are the outer lines, which i presume is what ive just drawn.. how do i cut the area inside this?
3. and finally maybe a slightly less easy one- In Paint, when you cut out an object and paste it, you can select for the white of the image to become transparent so you can paste over what you have already.. is thee a feature in PS for this?
I'm trying to use the line tool to draw a colored line, I draw the line via Line tool, it appears in grey, I right click>stroke path and select Pencil > OK, the line is still grey and not the foreground color. If I do the same with a Rectangle Tool, it works fine and darws me a nice colored rectangle. What am I doing wrong? This is driving me nuts...!!

I am using AutoCAD LT 2011. I have had an unexpected loss of functions that is not restored by a system restart.
When I select objects, I can't get any of the tools to work on the preselected object ( The tools all work if I select the tool first and then select object to apply it to). And I can't change properties such as layer & color of a preselected object.
Also I can't delete a selected object with the keyboard delete key, and I can't bring up the MultiLine text editor with the usual double click of a text object.
It doesn't sound like a simple command reset as there is too many things involved. Can't find anything on options and drafting settings that is relevant. So it sounds like it might be a total reload of LT?
My right side tool bar: function icons keep disapearing. I cannot find a place to restore them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that the Gradient Tool won't show up when inside a Live Paint group, which makes it difficult to edit gradients. Is it supposed to be like this?
It is still possible to edit the gradient using the Gradient Panel, but I prefer to use the Gradient Tool instead because of it's direct approach.
Also, when selecting multiple areas within a Live Paint group to fill with a gradient, I don't seem to be able to Alt+Drag with the Gradient Tool in order to fill each selection with it's own gradient. It always ends up with one gradient being applied across all of the selections.
