Jan 24, 2009Installed CS4 on Vista (32 bit). All went well but I can't get it to open, I've tried on XP and it works fine.

Photoshop :: Wont Open PNG Or GIF Files
Aug 26, 2008when i tried to opened the PNG or GIF files that i save earlier, photoshop CS3 just wont open it. It keeps giving me a messages saying "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file". I even reinstall the photoshop, but still receiving the same problem.

Feb 28, 2008I'm running photoshop cs3 and recently every time I try and open a file nothing happens, well what happens is I see the open file box pop up and disappear and then I can not do anything in PS, every time I click something I hear a noise and thats it, I have to restart Photoshop.
The only way to open a file is if I drag and drop a file in PS.
I'm running windows XP service pack 2 if that helps at all, and yes I have reinstalled and the problem still persists.

Aug 17, 2009I just picked up Phot Shop CS3 installed it on my Lap Top with Vista Ultimate 64 bit.It installed fine, but when I try and open it a windows error message comes up in encountered and error and closes the program. I have another laptop with Vista Home 32 bit and I installed it on there and it opens no problem. I do have Dreamweaver CS3 on my 64 Bit

Sep 18, 2008I have a new laptop using Vista. It has twice the memory and speed of my last laptop. It takes much longer to open a file in CS3 compared to my other laptop, however once a file is open it runs faster. Is there a setting that I'm missing or is it a Vista thing.

when i attempt to open a particular psd it tells me file cannot be opened because it is not compatible with this version of photoshop. it was built in cs3 and worked like 5 hrs before i tried to open it to work on it didn't save it when i opened it the last time(as in i just opened it on my pc to show some one n closed it )

Dec 23, 2011I saved a photo book and while I was working on it it got closed by accident. Now I cannot open it back up into the photobook program I was working on it in. I can find the "photobook" in my saved files and when I open it, it separates each page as a file so I have to open each page separately and work on them instead of having the whole book to look at and then I can flip through the pages of the photobook and decide which page to put my photo on. I have typed this into all the help systems but nothing comes up.

Jun 7, 2009I've been using Photoshop Elements 5.0 for a few years now on my PC running Vista. Beginning just a few days ago (and unconnected to any updates of which I am aware), I started getting an error when I tried to delete or import files in the Organizer. The error says: ODBC data source [Microsoft] [ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot open database "I". It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt. The photos are there - I can see them in Windows Photo Gallery. I can delete photos from there as well. Just not in Organizer. Wondered if anyone might be able to point me in a good direction for a fix?

Feb 16, 2013I just got photoshop recently on my new computer, on which I have never installed photoshop before. When I decided to use it for the first time, I started with the text tool, but found when I dragged the box area I wanted, I could not type inside it.
So I went troubleshooting, and no matter what I did the text stubbornly would not show itself. I have deleted and reinstalled fonts. Redownloaded photoshop. Reset preferences.
Photoshop :: PS7 Wont Load?
Mar 6, 2006I have tried every way possible. The short cut, photos, and psd. files and nothing. So I thought, maybe I should uninstall it and reinstall it. Nope! And I even ran Ccleaner, disk clean up and a rgistry cleaner/fixer uper and restarted before reinstalling. It will start to load and then it just drops off with no error message. Not sure what else to try. I have 91% empty space on a 250MB hard drive and more than enough memory so I dont think this is an issue. I havnt made any changes or installed anything that may have caused an issue.

Jan 15, 2009I have CS4 and everything has been working great! I love it! The only problem is that for some reason now I can't COPY images out of my layers. I can paste anything but now when I select images from my layers, there is no option like COPY available in the EDIT tab. Some others seem to be missing to, such as FADE. My PC is definetly capable of running the program as it was for already a week perfectly.

Feb 7, 2007Whenever i open up photoshop or illustrator itll work fine sometimes and sometimes it wont work at all. Illustrator sometimes gives me the msg "Could not request ..." and when I click on New image it doesnt display all the options. Itll leave out the OK and CANCEL buttons and several other options sometimes. And sometimes Ill be able to create a file but i cant save... And sometimes when all this is happening I cant open any new windows on my computer and cant do any tasks at all on my pc..
other times when i think it works perfectly some of the options for different tools wont work at all...

Feb 26, 2006when i put all of the pictures into one box and gave one a mask like i normally do, i dragged a line and nothing happens at all! I'm not sure what's happened? It was working fine the other day and i havn't changed anything.

It gets a bit tedious when having to resave 100 or so files. Does anyone know why this happens, or has a quick solution how to resave them.
