Is there something like a plug-in that keeps track of the steps you make while doing a project? So when I look at an image a month later,I can look at the steps to remember how I pulled it off?
I am trying to learn layers and layer masks. I loaded an image, than control J to duplicate it. I then added a layer mask. Everything good so far. I then went to filters chose a blur. Then went to brushes with black as my foreground color, I just wanted to brush away the blur, and got an error message. "could not use the history brush because the history state does not have a corresponding layer."
Everytime I try to use my history brush, that error pops up and I have no clue why. If I try to just open a blank document and use the brush it does not give me this error and I can "use" the brush but you cant see anything on the project.
so when this error happens im trying to do a project and say I place a file(picture) into the project and this is the very first thing I do. I place it, then I size the image down some. I then make a new layer to use the brush for behind the picture and then this is when I get the error. I have no clue what is wrong
When I take a clip from Premeire Pro with no effects on it, replace with after effects composition --> then try to apply the 3D camera tracker in After Effects (CS6) I get the error message "3D Camera Tracker analysis doesn't work with Collapse Transformations (514) ( 25 :: 101 ).
I'm in paint module (desktop tool) then i want to use autopaint combined with tracking. The problem i only can get single tracker inside the stabilize module. Am i really limited to use only 1 tracker ?
When I enter Stabilize/Track through the Axis editor I arrive at a blank viewer screen with no footage. I get tracker target boxes, but no footage to track. Stabilizer/Stabilize works fine, but the tracker does not seem to work.
I have a video clip of a train moving across the tracks. The camera also pans to follow the path of the train. I want text to sit on the top of the first car of the train as its travels from left to right.
I used Track Camera and then parented text to the Null object.
The problem is that the text has to adjust in size and perspective as the train moves along.
I have tried keyframing these options but the result appears jittery and jumpy as if the text is dancing on top of the train.
The text should be the exact width of the first train.
Tiny in the distance and then large as it approaches cameras.
Also, there appears to be a bug with the text object not displaying the font correctly. I have tried many fonts and each appears inconsistent. I have attached a screen grab.
The red text is how the characters should appear given my font choice. The red is NOT tied to the null object; its just a text layer. The black font is tied to the null object. You can obserce that certain characters are bold and others not. Overall this looks nothing like the font is supposed to appear.
Please note that both titles are the same font. password for the vimeo clip is : train-tracker
Im trying to use the add point tracking feature in the MK/Gmask in action. Is this a bug or has the software changed? I used to be able to add a tracking point, scrub media to where the point falls off, select add, hold down control and move the tracker to a new point and it would work fine.
Today no matter what I do when the tracker jumps to the second selected position it just jumps off screen. It even does this if I dont use the add function and stop a track, move to new location and hit snap? Whats up with that?
I have a 3D Camera Tracker and 3D Text that I would like to have a shadow for in AE CC (CS6)
I created a light and a white solid. I oriented the white solid to the plane of the footage and positioned the light such that I see the shadow cast on the white solid layer. However, I can still see the white solid (obviously, I only want to see the shadow) If I change the white solid layer settings to "Accept Shadows" from "On" to "Only" the shadow disappears along with the opacity of the solid.
So I've been trying to follow some 3d camera tracker tutorials to the tee but I keep having the same problem. When I go to render the video instead of the character staying in a fixed spot it starts to bounce all over the video.
This is the main tutorial I've been trying to follow; [URL]
I don't know how to phrase it correctly but the 3d camera tracker inside of After Effects will only apply key frames to the null object. This causes the footage to rotate around itself.
I use After Effects CC and am having trouble with the 3D camera tracker. Here is a link to the video where you can see my problem.URL....
The video works fine, until at the end, when the camera moves through the text. When it moves through the text, it starts to "shake" the text. When the camera moves back away from the text, it stops shaking again.
I am working on a project where I am incorporating 3d text into a shot with an onscreen talent speaking to the camera. I am trying to get the text to only move when the camera moves such as a pan or a hand held shake, making it look like it's part of the environment. It will track with the camera and looks great until my talent /subject moves, then the text moves with the subject. What am I doing wrong in my tracking? I have looked up tutorials and articles searching for others who have had this problem and cannot find anything that replicates my issue. Every tutorial I've seen does the same thing with fantastic results but I can never get the text to not move with my subject.
The tolerance feature of art history brush tool is explained in the reference as following:
"A high tolerance limits paint strokes to areas that differ considerably from the color in the source state or snapshot" When I try to use this tool on a image's original state (no difference with the history state) with the 100% tolerance setting, some of the areas can be brushed. So, I'm a little bit confused about the function of the "tolerance" slider.
I am doin a flipping of pages, you know when you lick your finger, grap the tip of the page and flip it over, lifting the page from its original flat position, in photoshop using the warp tool and image readywindow-animation.)
Now i have a few pages which look real enough to be seen as a flip.
I was wondering if there was a way to copy the warp tools deformation history of each position/stance to use on another layer, so all pages have more or less the same flipping technique applied to it?
I am using Photoshop CS3 for a photography class. I was playing around with the Filters and Image Adjustments of one of my photos and my teacher really liked it. I thought I remembered what I did, but when I tried to replicate the result with another photo it didn't seem the same.
I saved the first one as a photoshop image. Is there any way I could find a history of exactly what I did to that first photo so that I can do it again to other photos?
I have an image with a long history palette. I have been working with a burn tool. Accidentally I bumped the keyboard, and up comes the image with a new History State, just the Burn Tool with the History Brush. one line. I have none of the others. So, I dump that one in the garbage can. Slight name change but still the Burn Tool Histoy State. I notice the same statement on a second bar at the top, and the same bar having the minimize etc buttons. So, I click the lower bar, now I have an image with all the history states. I save the History state version and exit that screen. Now when I open the History tab, it opens behind the image! I reopen the saved History State image, same thing. All I can do is save the work, exit PS and start it again. The behavior is normal now, but of course minus the history states.
how to use Photoshop CS3 for Macs, which had a history palate on the right side of the screen. It was way easy to undo and redo steps and it was super convenient to have. I recently downloaded Photoshop CS4 for my Windows laptop, and it doesn't have a history palate on the screen! It's been driving me crazy because I used it all the time on CS3.Does anyone know if CS4 for Windows has a history palate, and if so, how to get it onto my main screen?
I see how Photoshop CS3 uses the History Log for actions, but can it be set up to not only record the step but what was done in that step, i.e., a History Log entry shows "curves" but doesn't show that a "darker" preset was used in that step.
