The "color box" in the "text bar" keeps the previous color and text comes out in that color, not the new one. (Different pictures)

A work around it to:
Back out of the color tool
Save the file
Reopen the file
Re-Pick the color
Then I get what I need as text color.
This seems to have come up in the last couple of weeks. At least I don't recall it happening earlier.
I need to print some stuff in japanese. However, since illustrator doesn't seem to support chinese nor japanese, I've been using photoshop. Up to now whenever I print business cards or whatever, I've been sending the file type to the print shop as .ai. However, with photoshop, do I simply send the file over in .psd format?
I'm trying to make walls that are not just the Standard type (Brick -4 Brick -4 Furring for example) but when I make a wall of this type, it displays as a simple rectangle, instead of with the unique hatch patterns of that wall type...In the properties palette, the wall type is Standard, even though I've chosen a more specific wall type. Â How do I make walls that aren't Standard?
I was wondering if there exists a library for pipe network parts for items such as a standard type 1 catch basin that I can add to the existing autocad pipe network parts library. Basically I'm trying to find a shortcut so that I don't have to build all of the catch basins that I need.

I would like to add mass to my lablel inside certain templates and have it show when I display a views Base view label. Not ot have to maunually add it each time it is displayed.
1.   Is there any benefit to using the ProPhoto color space when one's monitor is only standard (sRGB) gamut?  1a.  Ditto Adobe RGB with a standard gamut monitor.  - What is the use of retaining more colors if you can't see them?  2.  Are there any possible DISadvantages to using a wider colorspace than you can see?   3.  If printing, how can you softproof your photos and visualize the printer output, if the file contains colors you can't see on your monitor?
I can add my own colors to the strip at the bottom of the screen, but time and time again I need to use grayscale that has to be just gray and its not! For instance if you pick 50% black and then click on CMYK scale it turns out to be C:49% M:45.5% Y:32.5% K:11%...Why is it not 0 0 0 50?
if you send something off to the printers with what you think is small grey text that looks sharp on your RGB screen it may well be fuzzy when you see it in hard copy from an offset press.So it would be great to redefine the standard strip, or at least be able to load a user strip every time the program starts.
The standard black color in Inventor appears as if it has a subtle texture when I use Realistic shading mode (see image). But when I edit the style there is no Use texture Image or Bump / file associated with it. I tried Realistic Appearance checked on & off in edit dialog & it makes no difference.
I want to represent a flat anodized black color for some marketing images. We have a lot of parts that use the standard black color & I really don't want to spend the time to change them all to a new custom black color (without a texture).
How can I make the standard black not have a texture in realistic & rendered modes?
Running CS4. Am unable to add color to Type as well as Foreground and Background. Can only vary grayscale for these. When I use the Color Picker the aforementioned only change to equivalent level on grayscale. Have not had this problem previously. Only began three days ago.
 I'm having some problems with drawing paths in Illustrator. Everytime I draw a new path, this new path shows up in the standard settings. The 'brush defenition' turns back to 'basic' and the 'variable width profile' back to 'uniform'. It would save me a lot of time if I could change those standard settings into what I prefer.
Having trouble getting illustrator to assume my fill color when setting text. Each time I set type it reverts back to black regardless of the fill color I've set up. I can change it back once it's set but I'd like to illiminate the extra step. I've tried synching to my old settings but thats not working. It there a way to get it to behave like my older version where it just uses the fill color for text without reverting to black?
I'm running Design and Web Premium CS6 on a Windows 7 machine. I was recently using Ai's Recolor Artwork dialogue for a CMYK document. I wanted to convert my 4 color artwork to Pantone solid coated. I decided to chose some different Pantones. In older versions of Illustrator I could easily open the Color Picker, click on a Pantone value and then just type in a new value to scroll to it. This is no longer the case with Ai CS6.Â
Using Illustrator CS6. Created type and applied an effect (Graphic Pen) and the yet I could not get it to do anything but come out as black. How do you apply color to the effect?
I have a task I need to perform often. I create charts that have descriptive texts below bars. There are two lines of text... a company name, then data on the second line. The text is at a slant, so each bar has its own separate text (i.e., I can't create it as one continues piece of text... but the text below each bar —the two lines— are connected). I want the first line of text to be 8 points and 100% black. The second line of text is to be 7 points and 50% black. So let's say the text is 8 pt Arial. I highlight the second line and run the action on it to reduce it down to 7 points. No problem. Then I run a second action (ideally, I'd like to combine actions, but I can't as you'll see in a moment...) which turns that second line to 50% black. BUT... it turns BOTH lines to gray... not just the line I have highlighted. How can I stop it from doing this? It seems like if I have only certain text highlighted, it should only apply changes to that particulat text! Not ALL of it.  I'd like to combine both actions so that all I have to do is highlight the second line and run both actions. But I can't do that at the moment  I'll attach some photos that will hopefully make this make more sense.  I'm using CS6 on a Mac. The charts are initially generated online, if that makes a difference.
I need to make a bright pink/hot pink type of color for the web/monitors. Â I been through tons of pantones, art books, etc... All the pinks look like pastel or extremely dull, not bright at all, like that hot pink, neon pink type of color. Â 1. is there a certain pantone/color/etc that will give me that hot pink color that will look hot pink on a website? if so what is it? Â 2. if there is no color for this, is there some way to simulate it?
How can I modify the line type/weight? How can I change the color? Â Where are my object properties?

To get the AutoCAD 2012 "Properties" panel in ACA 2012:

1. Â Open the "Customize User Interface" dialog by a familiar method (I like the keyboard, the command is "CUI"). 2. Â Switch to the "Transfer" tab. a. If you can't see it, expand the dialog to 2-columns by clicking the ">" button in the lower right corner.Â
3. Set the left-hand column to "acad.cuix", I'll call this the "source file". a.  If you can not see the file, click the "Open" button and navigate to your "Application Data" folder.

a.  NOTE: Adding this panel to the tab causes the other panels to resize so the ribbon fits the screen/UI width. If there are any panels that you aren't using, turn them off to allow more room for the other panels. (I turned off the "Transparency" panel, the new "Properties" panel includes those commands in the slide-out, making it redundant.)
b. Â To turn a panel off, right-click a panel title, select Show Panels, then uncheck any panel you don't want displayed.
Shortly around the time I signed in to Autodesk 360 I began to have problems with how I interface with the program. I have AutoCAD LT 2013 and, having used the programs for 20 years, I use the AutoCAD LT Classic format for tools and menus. Also due to how I learned CAD in the early 90s and with many abbreviated commands, I use the keyboard extensively.Â
1. Certain actions using my mouse have stopped working (i.e. Right-click to edit hatch or blocks). Basically a "recent input" menu comes up each time, showing a short history of my commands. 2. When I click on an object, from the top bar I can no longer edit using the pull downs for Layer, Color, Line Type, etc. 3. I can only edit via the Properties menu or through typing in commands. However when I go to change a setting in the Property menu, the boxes with an ellipsis do not respond at all.
I want to change the color, line type, width and layer of all my blocks in my drawing. is there a way to do this with out opening all the blocks for editing? I am using AutoCAD 2009.
I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?
I want to create text on a circle path, so drew the circle, went to the "type on a path tool" and clicked on the circle. I keep getting the message "can't create type". I have tried to use the direct selection tool to select the circle first and without the direct selection.
My Type Tool does not select type by double clicking or click and drag. (Windows CS 5 V15.1). This is what I have tried so far and the problem still exists. Â Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it. Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it. Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.
the type tool won't let me insert any type whatsoever in JPG or PSD files. I click the type tool and then click somewhere on the image and all it gives me is a dot but no flashing cursor. As I said, resetting my prefs/settings while starting up Photoshop did not help. Another weird thing it does is that when I go to Canvas Size for a medium sized image, it says that the width is 588 inches and the height is 288 inches.
Working on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck. Â By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.
