Photoshop :: Brush Selection Plugin
Aug 3, 2004Is there a plugin where it turns your brush into a selection tool? Basically, where ever you move your brush, it becomes a selection area. I've kind of been needing a tool like this.

View 3 RepliesIs there a plugin in existance, that I can make a selection in Photoshop and then copy the coordinates of that selection to the clipboard?
I am a texture artist and frequently lay a number of graphics out in one file, before typing out the coordinates for each element. Currently this is slow manual task, but could be made so much faster if I didn't have to type everything out.
is there a plugin that Grows or shrinks a selection like gimp or Photoshop?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a plugin that would expand a selected area, so as to create an outline around the object? Like Select > Shrink or Select > Grow in GIMP.
I just don't like having to open GIMP just to do that every time, I'd like to have it right in PDN.
For some strange reason i can't find a plugin that does inline/inner selection.
the inverse of Outline selection plugin. Were i can find it or how can i implement it without a plugin.
i have a workaround for simple and not complex selections, using resize selections etc.. but it takes long time to implement, and it does not work for complex selection shapes.
Is there a selection brush or something that does the same thing in Photoshop CS2? My friend doens't want to switch from Elements 4 to Photoshop CS2 because of it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently moved up from Photoshop Elements to CS5 which included a Selection Brush Tool in addition to the Quick Selection Brush. The Selection Brush Tool allows you to paint a selection free style without being bothered by the "Quick" feature that provides guesses about where you might want to select. I could not find the Selection Brush Tool in CS5. Is there one? The lasso is not as easy to use.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA newbie question about brush presets ...
Brush tip shape section on the brush panel shows the brush tips for the selected set of the brush presets ... at the end of the list there are some brush tips (they are changing with the selected set) and they are not included in the selected set of brush presets. Where are those additional brush tips are coming from?
For example ... for calligraphic brushes, at the top I can see the tips for the set of calligraphic brushes in the window ... but, there are some other brush tips there at the bottom (red lined). Where are they coming from?
what I'm trying to do is make a selection and, with either the paintbrush or eraser, put a single coat of the selected brush texture on that entire selection.
I've downloaded some really great brush sets and I want to apply one of them to the whole canvas as if I've painstakingly gone over the whole canvas and applied one coat of the paint brush or eraser. All the Google explanations refer to the smart brush which I can't seem to find. Perhaps its no longer in CS6?
I'm using a Mac Pro with OSX 10.6.8 & PS CS6.
I recently just got Photoshop CS2 and there are some of the simpliest things that I cannot figure out. I use to have Photoshop Elements 4.0 and these things were easy as pie, oh well, hope you can help.
On CS2, I cannot find the selection brush tool anywhere! could someone tell me where it is located. Or if there is a better tool that has "replaced it" and does the same thing?
Also, when I move images into another "box" it isn't giving me the outline of the image where I can easily resize it and turn the image at an angle. Is there something I need to do to make it give me the outline [sorry, I dont know the actual word for what it is called]?
I've activated a feature without meaning to and don't know how to undo it. With the Rectangular Marquee Tool, the border shifts from a rectangle to a round-edged shape when I release the mouse after selecting an area. Then, when I cut that area, it lifts only a transparent portion of the selected area instead of the entire layer. How do I turn this off?
Also, I was once shown how to make use of the history brush to restore deleted / erased information along the edge of a shape that were overtaken by the magic wand. I've not been able to do that again on my own.
this is for Adobe PS 8.0.
I'm using Photoshop CS5 on a MacBook Air running OS X 10.8.2...I have managed to change the brush in my quick selection tool, or at least the way it looks on the screen, and I can't figure out how to get it back.
It now looks like a paint brush with light rays around it instead of the circle with the plus sign in the middle. It does not change size when the ] key is hit.
The current preset says its Quick Selection Tool Hard Round 250 1...In addition when I use the marquee tool I can not see the crosshairs when I am inside the image. The only thing I have knowingly done is to create a preset for a dashed line and imagine in doing that I have messed up the other. I have also changed the preferences for the cursor back and forth between standard and precise but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I've purchased word art .png files and I'm trying to save them as brushes. When selecting Edit, the Define Brush Selection is grayed out.

The black lines would be the pen paths (curved shapes) with a brush stroke, but then I would like to select an area of all those pen paths lines (like you for example do when using marquee tool) (in the example green color) and fill the path lines with for example green only on that selected area and the rest stays black in this case and only the lines would be filled, so not the white space between. I kind of did it in Illustrator using scissor tool, but cutting all the paths takes a lot of time and precision so I thought there might be a better, easier, more precise way to do this in photoshop. how to accomplish something like that?
I'd like to scatter a small image randomly, like you can with scatter & size jitter. I can't think of any way to do that on this image other than make a brush out of it, but creating a brush from the image will change its color uniformly. I'd like to keep the color and opacity of the image the same, but have it scattered. I
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it was possible to make a selection tool that works just like the brush tool and pencil tool.i think it'd be much easier to select very small areas with this.If it is possible to consider putting it in PDN if it isn't too much of a problem.
Also while im at it can you make the transparent background design customizable because all the grays make it kind of hard to tell if you have a stray pixel.I'm currently using PDN to sprite so stray pixels will get me flamed on the site i post them on i'm also aware that i could just make a layer to cover it but when i click save im reminded of the extra layer than i have to cancel and remove it.
How do I select an area, and then use it as a paintbrush?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI notice that the color palette as displayed in the adjustment brush has changed. Below is the display for 5.0 and below this is display for 5.2RC
Wonder if this is signicant. I know it dosent change any thing regarding color selection. Just wondering. I suppose it is more logical geometrically.
Any plugin for point to point selection?
This is an importing tool I missed many times at paint.net

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.
I am not very good with photoshop, and if there was a brush tool setting to make it just like an actual paint brush.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been continually annoyed, when creating a vector mask-heavy document, with trying to select vector mask points by dragging a rectangle only to find that it instead selects a layer higher up which has a larger vector mask.
The only workaround is to manually select the points of my mask or to drag a rectangle from outside the canvas, meaning I have to zoom out or scroll to the edge - sometimes annoying if I am zoomed in quite far.
I know that the move tool can be set to automatically select a layer, depending on what part of the image is clicked, but why is there not an option to turn this off for vector editing?
If you look closely in the attached picture, there is a spot of light blue on the player's helmet, that looks like a mistake (think it should look like the grass behind it)...though it actually may be part of his helmet.
Regardless, I'd like to take it out. My idea was to select the blue with the quick selection tool, then bring that selection out to the grass, select the grass with that size/shape of selection, copy/paste and then bring the grass selection into the blue part so it looks like grass in what was the blue part.
The problem is I don't seem to be able to move the selection without taking the blue with it (so it's not an empty selection and therefore can't select a piece of the grass.)
I have Photoshop CS5 on a Mac OS 10.7.4 My problem is that when I am using curves or a slider, my selection does not stay in the same place. For example, I chose the number 8 on a slider, after I release my selection it will either go one number after or before my selected number. I have had this problem since I got my computer, December 2011, but it has only recently started to frustrated me because of having to use Photoshop a little more than I usually do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are a few things I just don't get about brush settings. Sometimes it seems my brushes go all wonky.
When I change the settings for 1 brush... say I add some jitter to a smooth brush - then suddenly the other brushes get the same jitter applied to them.
How can I set the brushes so that each brush has a different setting that doesn't change when I change any other brush settings?
p.s. I also don't get why Adobe has you lock a brush by UNlocking it? Seems to me it should be the other way around?
