View 3 RepliesI need to do some shading work in Gimp, and for this it would be very nice to have a quick way to change my brush size. Luckily there's a note in the gimp docs on how to program the mouse wheel to do this:

My laptop only has a touchpad with a little scroll area on the side, but I can't think of a good reason why this should be any different from a scroll wheel on a real mouse. Unfortunately, though, following the documentation doesn't work.
In fact, as far as I can tell, the input controllers dialog does nothing at all on my system--I've looked at the settings for the all of the 'active controllers,' and none of the current settings there match with the actual behavior of Gimp as far as I can tell. It also worries me that the controller names are so generic--they're listed as 'Main Keyboard' and 'Main Mouse Wheel' rather than mentioning a synaptics touchpad, and my tablet doesn't even seem to be listed.
I am using Gimp 2.6.11 on Ubuntu.
setup PS so that the scroll wheel on your mouse changes the brush size? I use Aperture and this functionality is built in and I find it tremendously useful. When I export an image to PS I find it really annoying to have to reach up to the brackets to make that adjustment.

This would be an incredible time-saver for us artists and not very complex. If not I will suggest this feature to the gimo developers.
In CS3 after clicking onto the slider "triangle" I can then adjust it with the mouse wheel. I don't appear to be able to do this in CS6. Can this be remedied?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't mean the Zoom Tool, but simple zoom in/out operations. I seem to recall that the default behaviour in Photoshop was that you zoomed with Ctrl+mousewheel scrolling, and if you just scrolled, then the picture would pan up/down (vertically). And you could untick the "Zoom with scroll wheel" option if you didn't want Ctrl+scroll to mean "zoom".
However for a while now, having that option ticked seems to mean that scrolling (with no Ctrl) is all it takes to zoom in/out, and if you untick the option then you need to press Alt+scroll to zoom; in either case, there is no shortcut for panningup/down.
Anyway, whether this was really ever the case or not, my question is: is it somehow possible to make it so Ctrl+scroll zooms and (simple) scroll pans vertically?
I recently reinstalled Photoshop 8 and I used to use my mouse wheel to zoom images, now it does not work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 on windows 7-64bit with a keyboard and a mouse. I have a problem with the default functionality of the "Alt" key in windows 7. For those of you that are familiar with the default functionality of the alt key in windows 7, please skip to the next paragraph. For those of you not familiar, pressing the alt key in most programs in windows will highlight the toolbar so that you can use the keyboard to make selections within your "File", "Edit", "View", etc. toolbars if your mouse goes dead.
My problem is that I use the Alt + Mouse Scroll for zoom all the time. I rely on that feature probably more than I should. Yes, I could use cntrl + or cntrl - for zoom but that means I have to take my right hand off my mouse and I use photoshop 8+ hours a day some days. Time is of the essence to complete projects by the deadline.
I've tried disabling the default alt function in windows 7 (didn't work because you can't without third pary openware). I've tried duplicating the shortcut in the Edit - Keyboard Shortcuts menu (didn't work because it doesn't recognize the mouse scroll).
I found an annoying bug using photoshop cs6 with win 8 pro.
It only happens when i'm working on a file with layer. When I zoom in or out with the mouse wheel the background suddenly changes from gray to black or "trasparent" multiple times.
Already tried updating vga drivers and disabling gpu acceleration, with no results.
Where can I change that scrolling the mouse wheel moves me up and down the page instead of zooms in and out? I want it as it was in X5 (I may have changed some setting there, but that I have forgotten).
View 8 Replies View RelatedOccasionally when I try to zoom with the mouse wheel it just won't let me to. I have to pan around and then it'll let me zoom again. That's extremely irritating. I've never encountered such problem in previous versions of Max. I have the service pack and both hotfixes installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to adjust the behavior of Corel Draw X5 in order to have the scroll wheel of the mouse behave like the scrolling action on a web browser. I would like a vertical scroll to vertically scroll the design when I am zoomed in and some of the design continues beyond the current view. Also, I have a mouse that can scroll horizontally when the scroll wheel is nudged from side to side, so I would like to have a horizontal scroll as well, if possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Logitech MX Laser 1000 mouse, love the mouse. But the Middle scroll button does not pan when you hold down the wheel. And when you double click the wheel it no longer does a zoom extents. When you scroll the wheel it does zoom in and out. My mbuttonpan is set to 1. Not sure if I toggled something on or off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy old microsoft mouse died and i replaced it with a new 3500. For some reason, i cant get it to pan when i use the wheel button. it zooms fine with the wheel... just wont pan. I tried changing the wheel function in Control Panel... unfortunately Pan isn't an option for "program specific" functions. The ACAD help section lists pan as the only function with the wheel button.

I recently installed the Student version of AutoCad 2013 on my Mac through Windows 7. I am not able to use the wheel on my mouse to get to the hand tool to move around. When I hold down the wheel, it swipes over to my Mac dashboard. Also the delete button does not delete. I have to use the E command.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)
How to change the mouse wheel settings in the AutoCAD?
In the screenshot below, in the ArcGIS, the mouse wheel movement (backward/forward) can set to be “zoom in/out” depending on our choice.
Is there such settings in the AutoCAD? How to decide to the backward/forward of the mouse wheel mean?
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
I just got a new pc upgrade so I'm walking through everything to see if it all works. Now when I double click my mouse wheel, nothing happens where before it would zoom extents. I'm using a MS Wireless Mouse 5000 with AutoCAD 2013.
I played around with programming the mouse buttons directly, but I couldn't get it to work right. I don't see anything in AutoCAD about a setting for mouse wheel double click. All I see is that it just says that double clicking the mouse wheel should execute the zoom extents command.
I've just started with Inventor 2009 and have found that you as default you cannot orbit around by pressing in the mouse scroll wheel, holding ctrl (or shift) and moving around.
This works in AutoCAD 2009 3D and all other 3D software I have used, so I'm assuming that there is a simple setting somewhere to activate this?
Is there a setting to control the speed of the mouse wheel zoom?On the model I'm working on, it takes about 8 scrolls to go from "forestview" to "tree view", and I would like to do it in 2-3 if possible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow do I configure my mouse wheel to "press to pan" in AutoCAD 2014?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed AutoCAD 2011 (32-bit on Windows XP Pro) and my mouse wheel pan capability is not working. I have already confirmed that my Mbuttonpan variable is set to 1. When I press my mouse wheel button I see the 'hand icon' for a moment before my cursor returns to the crosshairs. The mouse wheel zoom works just fine, and the pan function still works on my old 2010 install.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'd like to change what the right mouse button does. I went to EDIT > PREFERENCES > INPUT CONTROLLERS and tried to see where to change this (and I did successfully for the mouse wheel last week) but I couldn't find under MOUSE BUTTONS what would control what command is accessed via the right mouse wheel.
how to make a change in the preferences to what the right mouse wheel does? I know where's the most likely place to go to find the command; it's just where to access the right mouse wheel that has me stumped.
