How can you batch create thumbnails in Photoshop or ImageReady?
What I would like to do is set up a width variable (say, 100 pixels) and allow the rest to resize proportionally.
I'd also like the thumbnailed file to be something
imagename-th.jpg
imagename2-th.jpg
where it adds a "-th" on the end.
I want to do this to over 2,000 files.
If this is a pain to do in Photoshop, are there any other programs that do it easily, like Thumbsplus or any of those? I'd rather do it in Photoshop, but would consider getting one of the others if it's cake, or the program is free.
I have about 1.000 files in .jpg and would like to create a thumbnail for each also in .jpg width 800 variable length adding a t prefix to the original name for the thumb name.
I have begun the creation of a new custom content center library because the old one was or became corrupted during our migration from from Inventor 2011 to 2013. The old custom library was un-recoverable. The creation of a custom content center library, adding components to the the custom library and working with the file tables adding columns for part description etc.. is rather easy. Refreshing legacy content center files has been rather difficult. In some cases I needed to delete the legacy files and them re-insert them manually. This process is rather time consuming. What I would like to do is to create all the files in the family table after I have made the changes to the family talble.
I have resized my stock files to 640x433, 72dpi, JPEG, for cataloging to Extensis Portfolio 7 and CDRs. These images are in numbers folders, according to subjects. The problem is when I initially open an image it asks for the color profile. I want it Adobe 1998 RGB, the same as my master TIFF files.
How can I just do this process by the folder for all images within it.?
Do I have to, for example, open all 2000 files, assign the profile and then save individually?
I need to assign the same creation date to several pictures. On the modify file format (batch process) window there is the possibility to include date but I cannot find a method to modify the date only.
So I have an action that I've been using for the past couple years (?) now that involves opening an image, applying an auto color and auto levels, saving and closing. This has been working for me since probably a couple years ago when I made the action. Yesterday, I was working on a scanning project where I have groups of images in separate folders. I ran the action on the first 2 folders which went fine.
When I got to the 3rd folder all the way up to the last one, PS just loads all the images, does the levels and color then fails to save/close them when done. On one of my folders, it gets through a few of them when it drops the ball and just opens all of them. I'm not sure what's going on as there's no real explanation as to why this is happening.. especially when I've been using this action (and I even made a new action with still no luck). Last week I had about 300 images I had to work with and PS decided to pull this move on me after doing the first 30 of them fine...which is when I first noticed this happening.
To further add, I set my action to show everything step by step and it seems to happen with select images (in some cases, these select images are entirely what is in the folder). With the select images, it is not doing the actions entirely in order. Typically it does it in this manner:
1-Levels 2-Levels 3-Save 4-Close
What I'm now experiencing is this:
2-Levels 1-Levels
(Skips 3 and 4 since it is starting at 2 and working upward).
I'm making a map and i need to know some map creation software i can get so it makes it easier cause i can't make the map in photoshop by myself since i'm not that skilled.
I'm looking for a workflow to create web mock-ups in the most efficient and easy way.
What Im looking for is to take an existing web frontend page and tweek it with new sections and components like buttons / menus / new text areas, images etc etc...are there any specific tools or "web galleries" to use for this purpose that I can incorporate into CS6....not really sure how to form this question in the right way but I hope this sort of exaplined my purpose....creation of good-looking web page design (even if it will jsut be in .psd format)
I am working on a design of a button for my stations website. The problem is I need to make this stand out, after using the fire effect tutorial that I found here I know you can help.
1) I need a cool effect to make the button stand out on a semi busy page. Any ideas would be appreciated.
2) Then I need to be able to make the image glow. (Again don't know how to do it, but shoot high in what I want to learn)
I heard that after you splice your photoshop document you can hit save for web and it will put all the images in a folder, but when i do that and upload it, the images will not work!
I am starting a new business and am looking to your forum for some logo creation. The business is called Icecold PC design. I was just seeing if you could put your skills to the test and make my company a logo.
I am looking for something definitely modern, sleek, colors would be black and dark blues, or any hue of blue that looks classy. I will paypal you $30 if i like your logo. Im just looking for some good ideas, and i thought this would be a great place to start.
I can't seem to find the restore adobe defaults magic button. Right now I right click on all of my tools, and it doesn't give me any options besides what is already there in the tools pallet. For instance I am stuck with the gradient tool, and the paint bucket doesn't show up. I'll read some more, but I'm not sure what the heck I did, or it's a glitch.....
I have just started a site called www.warbishop.com , its under construction. But I want to make a warbishop logo for it. And I'm not sure how to make one that might be nice and I'm not even sure about a good way to go about it that might make a nice logo for.
I wanted something catchy but simple, but is made partly with the chess piece.... the bishop. I was hoping since some of you guys were graphics geniuses, you might have something to offer.
I uninstalled Adobe CS3 and now anytime I right click on a file I get the message "please wait while windows configures Adobe PDF Creation Add-on" This is very annoying, how do I stop this.
I created an animated gif by putting a bunch of files named so they retained that order (1-29) into a folder and then did Import Folders as Frames. I then add times in the animation window for each frame and then save it optimized. I've always done it this way because it works and is fairly simple but I can't edit the file later and that's what I need help with.
whenever I try to add an image or move layers all the frames end up being that layer in the animation window. All I want to do is add some new images to the end or maybe somewhere else in one of the animated gifs instead of going through the steps like before.
Is there a way to see the end result of a pattern as you are creating it?
That is a way so you can see the pattern tiled all over the document. So say you are working on a 100x100 area to be the pattern in layer 1, but you want to see this replicated over an entire document. Maybe you have an overall image/document that is 800x600 say, and you work on the 100x100 area in a layer. Anyway some way of doing is so that when you make a small change in the 100x100 area of the layer you're using for the patter creation, you immdiately see the replicated result of the 800x600 area.
In Photoshop, how do I keep the shot/creation date after editing/adjusting a photograph from raw to psd in order to keep hundreds of images in a chronological order? I am combining files with a second shooter on an event an the timeline is essential.
I don't use Photoshop a whole lot, but just wondering...
I've created a rectangle with a different colour stroke. I decided that I wanted a slightly different size of radius and an entirely different colour of stroke. Do I keep having to make new ones, or is there a simple way to edit the one that I have already made?
Trying to make a droplet but PS CS5 seems to think it is a PPC item. I am on an intel laptop Macbook Pro. The action works fine on it's own but PS not allowing the droplet. I've been troubleshooting it and there is nothing in it that should disallow- gave an error message about PPC action.
I do have some older version of PS on here- (CS3) . Wonder if some sort of directory structure needs fixing since didn't do clean install of Lion.confirm if this is default location: HD/App/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Presets/Actions.
I've recently started creating brushes to share/sell. I scan vintage documents to create brush sets. As the vintage documents often have fading text/illustrations on yellowed backgrounds, I have to really up the contrast. I usually use levels rather than threshold as I prefer the control I get with levels.
Anyway, sometimes the result looks rather jagged. I'm working from high resolution scans.I've noticed if I apply a .3 Gaussian Blur it smooths things out a bit. Does this look normal for a brush?
I'm using Photoshop Elements 10. If I want to use Photoshop with digital art (paintings mostly) and want to do touch up work and move elements of paintings into multiple layers, what extra features does Photoshop have that would benefit this application?
And what features are in Photoshop Creative Cloud, and CS6, versus CS5? I do want to save some money and CS5 might be quite sufficient for my amateur uses.
Before I describe this problem I do want to assure you I did poke around the forum and FAQ beforehand.
My problem is that I open a new creation(RGB or Bitmap) and create a text layer. When I do this I find that the cursor is EXTREMELY tiny. The text isnt even readable on size 72. I first noticed the problem yesterday when I was trying to create a new sig with an edited image I previously created. I've never had this problem before but I am still pretty new to this. Code:
I'm trying to simplify the creation of several preview thumbs from one image.
For example, my base image is a 400x600px image, and from this image I need to create the following thumbs:
1: 150x100px
2: 100x150px
3: 69x42px
4: ...
I would like an Action that would Crop the base image and save a copy of each of these thumbs. I can't fugure out how to do this since I need to adjust the Marquee selection for each thumb to Crop the part of the base image I want.
So can this be done? So the action is started and it pauses for each Marquee selection (the aspect ratio for the selection should not be entered each time, I need that info hardcoded in the Action) and then I can continue the Action and then adjust the Marquee for thumb #2.. and so on..
