Apr 12, 2003I would like to create a background image for my site. What size do I need to make the image? 1024x768 or 800x600 or should the image be smaller than that?

View 3 RepliesI have been trying to reduce the amount of banding on the long background image on our site.

Seems that when I use a 1 pixel strip and repeat horizontally there is a slight amount of banding visible. Is there any good ways in Photoshop to reduce this?
I have a site template as jpeg photo

I'm trying to create a titleblock family that has an image or dwg of my site. The easy way to do this is save a new family and import a cad file or jpg of the site plan.
However, I'd like to avoid creating a new titleblock family for each project with a new imported site image.
I thought I would be able to just make the image's "Loaded from file" address an editable field that could be updated in the project info like all the other parameters, but it doesn't seem to be possible.
So I am trying to make a site map for a building my buddy just bought. I found a lot map on the city's online database, cropped it to the area of his lot's block, and saved the image file. I then opened up a new autocad file and xreferenced the image. I know the front of his building on the site is 45' so I made a polyline that is the length of the facade over top of my xref image. Then I selected the image, used the scale command, selected one side of my polyline as a basepoint, used reference, entered 45' as the known length, and then selected the other end of the polyline. My image scaled but is now incredibly small. So small that the entine site isn't even 1". I keep trying but I'm doing something wrong somewhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with JPG attachments. In this case, we are attaching a reference civil site plan drawing. The image correctly appears in the sheet, and even in the "preview" window while exporting to DWF. However, the DWF file does not show the image. Is this a hidden export setting or a view setting in Design Review?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.
I am using my CS2 on OSX and when I view the image in a full screen mode the color around the image is grey, well it used to be grey but it is blue now. How do I change it back to neutral grey?

Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. To use magic wand gives bad result when applied to text? So what can I do? I am trying to place text over image. I know I could write it over the image but I need the text as a transparent layer some place else.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to do this but have forgotten how. I would like to remove the bg from a small image, ie make it's bg transparent, and place that small image on top of a large image, a banner. Not sure what I am doing wrong but when I place the small image on the large one the entire image is transparent, not just the bg.

The people I'm working for wanted a (huge) banner for their website. So far their site actually has fairly decent look. It's very clean and has moderately saturated blues with white text. So this is what I made this for them.
However they wanted me to adjust it, and it ended up looking like this. Is it just me or is the newer design very tacky? I didn't like the hugeness of the first one, and they ended up wanting it even bigger...
I haven't suggested going back to the old one yet because I'm waiting to hear what other people think.
It's just getting frustrating because their instructions through this whole thing have been incoherent. And it ends up in me having to remake something... and the updated version usually looks worse. It's almost like they don't like my designs because they didn't come up with them.
I have a site created in photoshop with image ready. Is there a way to change it so that it loads easier, other than rewriting the entire site. Can it be re-created in another program like Golive?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the attached image from which I am trying to produce a logo, eventually exporting it to illustrator. I have retaken the photo of the charcoal drawing so it is placed on the same paper it was drawn on and have managed to get a reasonable amount of space on the right hand edge but the left hand edge is proving beyond me. As there are so many greys and light greys, it is proving impossible to get a good selection. When I place the logo in my wordpress site it looks awful on the right hand edge.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this photo of me and my son that I put on my "about" page on my website, I cut the background out using the background eraser tool, and it looks great on my website, but if I put it on an all black background I can see where some of the pixels that should have been erased have not been, I have spent hour cutting out the image, is there a faster more efficient way of doing this in the future?
The photo is at: [URL]............
- You will see that I have cut out some of my son's hair, and didn't do the best job cutting out the image because I don't necessarily have the "steadiest" hand.
I have installed Photoshop CS6 - but when I attempt to edit anything the image flickers (it flickers to black and back again to the image). The background also flickers (from the grey grid to black and back again.
What would cause this? (Note: the application works, I can save, edit and such, but this flickering is driving me nuts! It only occurs when I attempt to do something to the image.)
I know this is a simple task if you understand masks better than I do but I normally slave away with max zoom and an eraser until I get the image extracted the way it looks good. Unfortunately for this image its going to be blown up and when I look at it the girl appears like she has been eaten around on all edges by termites.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a picture, and I would like the background of the image removed so that it looks like a typical sort of passport photograph.
It is low quality - taken off a webcam. It is a SMALL picture.
I have 2 questions.
1. How can I achieve the same background as shown in the image on Photoshop (perhaps with "gradient overlay Photoshop") ?
2. How can I achieve accurate shadow as shown in the picture?
Is there an easy way to blend (fade maybe?) an image which is already inside another image (background)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs you can see, the image above has a plain grey background.
However, it is quite small, and I would like to expand the grey background until it is much bigger.
Also, there is white text between the red and green legs of the creatures. How do I remove that as well?
