I am just curious about the following...
Below is the layers panel with the BG layer OFF and the picture below it shows how my image looks when the BG is OFF.
Now here is the layers panel with the BG layer ON and here's my image when the BG layer is ON
I am a bit confused as to why the white BG is covering the 1st layer above it ... isn't the BG layer suppose to Always be Behind the 1st layer? Both BG layers are locked and in the same Z order ....
So, I'm just wondering why this is happening.

Dec 20, 2008I make InDesign photo covers very well. If I wanted to begin using PS (CS3) too to make my photo covers more sophisticated, what feature or technique would I use in PS or how to steps for making a photo cover, using PS, but with final design in IDCS.
I know I can simply use feathering in IDCS but I want to do more sophisticated designs.

Feb 20, 2004I want to create cd covers by mixing images from different photos. Collage if you will.
I found a tutorial that describes the selection process and so forth. I also read something about how Image Ready makes it easier to cut up pictures for rearranging. How so?
Also I wonder if I can use photoshop to make images appear "ghostly". Like the ghosts in the Haunted House film. Or the librarian ghost in Ghostbusters.
Photoshop :: Type Cursor Covers Several Lines Of Text CS6
Aug 5, 2013In Photoshop CS6 the flashing type cursor cuts through several lines of text (see image).
This makes it hard to select text since it is hard to tell which line the cursor will select (see image).
Can the text cursor be resized? This happens no matter what type size is used or what paragraph settings are selected. I am using Windows 7 professional, service pack 1 on a Dell Precision T3500 with 8.0 GB RAM.

May 18, 2006I would like to scan the cover of my book but on it has a price tag that is very difficult to remove. Even if i removed it, there will be bits and pieces of it left.
Does anyone know how i can crop the price tag and make sure that that cropped area blends in with the book?
And if the book is a little bit yellowish as it is quite vintage, how do i touch up image?
Paint.NET :: Removing (novel By) From Ebook Covers
May 18, 2013I've got two ebooks coming out with "A NOVEL" in one and "a novel by" in the other. I put those in there thinking that they would distinguish them from other kinds of books, but hanging around in the ebook forums the great majority of people are like, 'Using 'a novel by' is amateurish and unnecessary as the book will be amongst other novels.'
Well, I've looked at plenty of ebooks online I thought were novels that ended up being short stories and I was not pleased, so I'm not entirely convinced I should be getting rid of them (the 'a novel by,' that is).
question #1) Do you think I should be getting rid of them?
Question #2) If so, any good way of doing that, where it still looks good?
The Find I did in paint.net before I knew about layers (unfortunately), so everything there is on the same layer.
Man of God was done by a professional cover designer and I have asked him to remove it, but I'm not sure if he will or not. (He did the cover maybe 7 months ago and I've got an email into him three days ago and haven't heard back.) So I don't know how this one was made.
And one last question: what is up with the file re-sizing action? I know that's vague, but when I re-sized The Find photo to 50% the paint.net uploader said it was too big. When I re-sized it to 40% paint.net said it was only 33.24 kb. Can that be? Plus paint.net was calling the file sizes just about double what they were in the file's properties.

Sep 12, 2012I'm trying to take the square cd cover image and make a cassette tape cover, or j-card, with that image.
Here's a picture of a j-card template.
Right now all I want is the front cover, spine and tail. I wasn't sure if the templates I found were compatible so i tried to make my own template. What I did was make three separate ones. One for the front cover, one for the spine and one for the tail. I was able to take the square image and use the scale tool to make the image fit inside the front cover. The first problem I had was not knowing if the image quality was good enough to print. It seemed easier to use inches when I made the template and not pixels. So I made the front cover template 4 in by 2.5625 in. I exported the image as a jpg but the final image looked too small. So now I'm not sure how many pixels I need for a printable picture.
Now with the spine and tail most likely I'll just chose a background color and type over it...Artist, Album Name, Song Titles ext. My plan was to use the jpg images I exported and paste them together, then save that final image as a jpg. and print.

May 16, 2009I have been using Photoshop Album 2.0 on my old computer Windows XP SP3. My new computer is Vista 32bit. I have installed Photoshop Album 2.0 on the new computer. I used Easy Transfer to copy the Catalog to the new computer. When I open Album the catalog does not show up.

this program will not allow me to copy/paste any pictures from MY PICTURES/DOCUMENTS.
they all go into the photoshop program and i have to right click on the picture and use the SEND TO option, send to my email and transfer from the email (sometimes this path will not allow the picture to be entered where i want it to go).
is there a way to bypass the photoshop?

Dec 6, 2008I'm trying to play a video that I created from my Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ5 digital camera. When I try to play this file, it only operates in fast forward.
This file that I am playing was copied from a CD. (I made the video with my camera, copied it onto my computer, then burned this video onto a CD.) So it seems like I lost some information by copying from my camera onto my computer. Is there something I can do to fix this so I can play at a normal speed?

Photoshop Elements :: Burn Album To DVD In V 10?
Oct 25, 2013Right clicked on an album for "Export to DVD" and a little preview window opened & downloaded 360 images for 10-12 minutes, it closed, then I put a DVD in the tray & the program automatically started to burn to it for about 10 seconds. I checked the DVD and it only had nine images.
Tried the whole process again and got 7 images on this DVD. Why won't all 360 images in the album burn to the DVD [when they apparently all download to the "Preview" window?

Jul 6, 2013i'm a hobby sports photographer. I shot lots of fast series. After an import into organizer pics with same time stamp are arranged in random order so the series get mangled. It is no fun to bring back the correct sequence by hand for hundereds of pictures. Slideshows, Video etc. are senseless.
A simple "sort by name" would solve this. So, how to sort by name?
