Photoshop :: Add Or Subtract From Area

Mar 22, 2007

i make say a Rectangle, then after i select the oval tool and then click subtract from shape area and then make the oval shape over the rectangle and it subtracts the shape from the previous rectangle shape. Sometimes this works , but most times if i apply any changes to the original rectangle before choosing another shape, the add or subtract from area buttons do not function anymore.

AutoCad 3D :: How To Extrude And Subtract Through Two Objects

Nov 2, 2012

I have two boxes stacked on top of each other. On the top I have a rectangle which I want to extrude down through the first box and partially through the second box and then subtract the extruded rectangle from the two stacked boxes. Extrude works fine, but when I use subtract it only removes the area from the first box. The bottom box remains solid despite having "extruded" the rectangle down through the bottom box as well.

I've tried joining the two boxes into a single object before using extrude and subtract, but for some reason the join command won't work in this case.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Choosing A Plot Area - Non-active Area No Longer Grayed Out

Apr 6, 2009

I've recently migrated from AutoCAD 2008 (non-industry specific) to AutoCAD 2010 so I don't know if this was an issue in 2009.

Back in 2008, when I choose the 'window' option when specifying a plot area, AutoCAD would show the workspace so that I could manually select a windowed plot area, and at the same time the whole workspace would be greyed out except the previously active window area.

This was handy, because we can have as many two dozen title-blocks (and therefore separate viewports) in paperspace, and knowing what plot area I last plotted or added as a saved page setup.

In 2010, it no longer does that. I now have to rely on the dashed border to know where the active plot area is/was (checked 'display printable area' in options>display tab) which I personally don't really like using.

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Subtract Bodies (parts)

Jul 14, 2012

I am now modeling elements for silicone formwork for casting elements of epoxy resien.

I would like to schow idea of this formwork. For this I would like to make part representing silicone part of this formwork. It is contained in aluminium "cover" for convenience of use.

In assembly I have placed may model, and aluminium elements representing "cover" of formwork.

I am trying now to model silicon but it is quite hard. I can not use "derivered part" method to substract model and cover elements from some big block body because coordinate systems do not mach in all elements.

In Part there is "combine" function but it only works with bodies mabe within this part.

Is it possible to substract one placed in assembly from anothe part in this assemby?

3ds Max Modeling :: Make Selections To Subtract From A Box Using ProBoolean

Sep 21, 2012

I need to make about 400 selections to Subtract from a box using ProBoolean. Unfortunately it seems you have to select each individual one. Is there an easier way to do this? Essentially, I have a box and need about 400 holes punched through. I am just trying to determine the easiest way.

Right now I have to click on each cylinder one by one after I have arrayed them in order to subtract them. Does ProBoolean have an option to select multiple objects at once to subtract?

Illustrator :: Subtract From Color With Blend Mode

Feb 15, 2013

I'm setting up several squares in rows that left to right the value will change (i.e. +5 % Cyan), and up and down the channel will be defined for the the value changes (as in CMYK).

Underlying each of these squares will be a named global CMYK swatch to easily change the color.

Above each of these will be a static box that overlays with 0-0-0-15 (with blend mode multiply) which would add 15% black to any color below.

My question here is how to do the opposite accurately within Illustrator, to subtract 15% interactivley from the colored box below, the closest I've come is to use; lets say I want to pull 10% from Magenta; is to: 100-90-100-100 with a blend mode of the top object set to Screen. It always seems to result in a jump that is 2 to 3% off.

Multiply allays seems to work corectly, in PS, Illustrastor etc... But I have yet to find a subtractive method that is reliable.

I'm using this to create an simple pick a color and print similar swatches around it, as my workplace has a lot of materials and heat processes that change the final color, and color swatches are in a constant need.
