I just installed CS6 upgrade. I always started Bridge from CS5 menu bar at the top. There is no Bridge button/icon to start Bridge from the top menu. I have to access it through the file menu. Is there a problem or am I missing an option or preference setting? In CS4 & 5 it was always on the top menu bar?
purchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop.
While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash...
In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...
After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.
I need to access Photoshop CS 5.5 running under Windows 7 remotely. I have Go To My PC and is works, but is there a solution that is better and faster?
Second, is the PC from which I access Photoshop relevant to performance – assuming I stick with Go To My PC?
When I go to save my document, the Notes check box is grayed, no matter what I check or uncheck, and no matter what type of file I select it to be saved as, so I can't create any annotations.
I have Photoshop 7 and Win XP, but am not very experienced in PS. I just downloaded the Bickham Script Pro from Adobe . In Photoshop, I did some type in the regular characters, but I cannot find how to access the alternate characters for this font. The dropdown next to the right of the font box says "regular" and there are no other options to select.
Accidntly hit view hidden files. Tried view all files. Can not access my files. Got message "this file and other files are locked. How do I get my files back? Are the pemamently gone?
I have not used PSE in 2 years; when I open it, no new pictures have been added. At the bottom of the welcome page it indicates it is accessing customer info, but this has been going on for 18 hours and nothing new is added. I have rebooted twice.
I love lighting effects and need it for a rush job, but it is greyed out. I am in RGB mode 8 bits. I have tried flattening, layers and no matter what I still cannot access it.
The company I work for has security measures in place which prevent me from modifying any directory within the C: drive. This means, of course, that I can't add fonts to either the system fonts directory or the Adobe/Fonts directory.
Obviously, this is a huge disadvantage, and I'm trying to find a workaround. Any way to make Photoshop find fonts in a different directory? I'm able to create and modify directories on our shared server, so I'd like to create an alternate fonts folder there and point Photoshop toward it.
(I'm using CS4 on a Windows XP 5.1 . I'm a Mac guy at home, so I don't know much about Windows.)
I'm experiencing a very bizarre problem in CS with a font special character. I used Extensis Suitcase to examine all the font characters for a particular font that I'm using on a project. The character mapping shows the key combination for the character I want is (on a Mac) Option/Alt + Z.
This works in every other application on my computer, including my email application, but for some reason, within CS it brings up the Omega character. Any idea why this happens and how I change it? I even tried to type the character in Word and cut and paste it into Photoshop and it changes! What gives?
Accessing metadata in Photoshop CS6 extended (file info) for any file, raw or .psd., causes application to freeze. I must force quit the application to continue. Application is running on OSX Lion.
I am unable to choose anything in Preferences in Adobe Elements 9 Organizer in Elements 9.0.3. Every time I try the program crashes. I have checked for updates and cannot find any and have even gone so far as to uninstall and re-install the software - no luck.I am using OSX 10.9.2. Preferences works fine in Photoshop Elements just not in Organizer?
Several months go I installed Photoshop Element 11/ Premier Elements. Both worked fine. Now in Elements I cannot access the Quick or Guided Editing space whereas before I could. Can only access the Expert Space now. Did not fool with any of the settings.
Whenever I try to open the Brushes panel, the Bridge window pops up. I know that Bridge is a media manager, so I'm not sure why is it opening. I really need to edit the brushes and I can't find a way to do it. Is there a way to disable bridge or another way to open the brushes panel that won't open bridge?
I keep receiving the error "Could not complete your request because of a program error" when trying to access Blending Options for a custom graphic or font. It's completely inaccessible. It used to work just fine.
The only other time I've seen this error is when running an action.

I have successfully carried out a trial back up of an Elements 6 2000 picture catalog from an XP based PC, using the Elements 6 full back-up process. This process is intended to be used eventually to transfer this and other catalogs onto a new Windows 8 PC installed with Elements 11.
However, in the interim I would also like to be able to access the picture files and the catalog data on the ehd from a Vista based laptop which also has Elements 6 installed. How to do this without carrying out a full restore process that would load all of the files onto my laptop's hard drive.
In transferring the picture files to the end I also seem to have lost the original file structure that was on my PC, as folders have been renamed numerically and are all held individually in the main folder of the end. Whilst this doesn't matter too much whilst the files remain on the end, provided the catalog still know

I can only hope that there is some simple setting that I'm just not aware of.
I've been trying very hard to understand why CS6 (now 64bit) is acting more sluggish than CS5. If I start an intensive task like a detailed Image Trace for instance, I will monitor both CPU usage and memory usage. Apparently Illustrator cannot mult-thread as it only uses one core out of a quad core processor at any given time. So use of modern CPUs is not yet an Illustrator feature it seems?
When I monitor memory usage (with Apple's own Activity Monitor and also iStat menus) as I'm watching a slow progress bar, Illustrator is calling on only between 1 and 2 gigs of RAM, never more than that, and leaving somewhere in the area of 11-12 gigs of RAM free. Why is that?
Bottom line I've seen no change from 32bit to 64bit except that CS6 seems a tad more sluggish. Even to the point of seeing a short progress bar during most saves on files that I'm quite sure weren't calling up progress bars in CS5.
Am I able to access and read and write to the file holding the variables used in the parameters-manager's palette. Ideally, I want to read the value held for an action-parameter, do some math using C, and write the result back to the file as a user-parameter which may be seen in the parameters-manager's palette.
I'm trying to write a plug-in that involves operations with TIN surfaces. I tried to follow the example from the Developer's guide just to see if I could get accessing a TIN surface to work, but without success, and now I'm stumped.
Here's my code, which is supposed prompt the user to pick a surface, and then simply spit out the name of the surface that was selected:
The plug-in is loading just fine and the initial prompt comes up, but whenever I actually select a surface after being prompted, I get a fatal error that causes AutoCAD to close.
I am trying to have access to the property Custom scale of the Viewport object and trigger a piece of code as soon as I pick the Viewport and change the zoom / Custom scale property.
I'm having a problem accessing data manager tables in the 2011 version. My C# .NET code worked fine with 2010. Here is a sample of the 2010 code that works, but returns zero length tables in 2011.
C#
ProjectPartCollection oPP = PlantApplication.CurrentProject.ProjectParts; PlantProject oPProj = PlantApplication.CurrentProject; Project oProj = oPP["PnId"]; try { //get ACAD data table [code].......
The last two lines fail to object any meaningful data in 2011. In 2010, I would have all the table rows and could access tags and asset information.
I have successfully created and defined a topolgy in Map 3D using a Visual Lisp routine that I cobbled together from CREATE.LSP. What I'd really like to do is be able to access that data and create closed polylines and centroids without going through the menu interface. The only documentation that I've been able to find is the Mapping Commands section of the Help file.
I found several commands, but they rely on user input to work. I might be able to work around this by typing a dash before the command line to suppress dialog boxes except for the fact that MAPCLPLINE does not respond to this method.
I noticed in CREATE.LSP that there was a TPM_MTNBUILD command that (apparently) was used to build the topology. Are there similar commands that I just haven't found yet?
