Paint Shop Pro :: Manage Tab Viewing Window Empty
Dec 8, 2012I don't think that my PSP X5 (or X4) is presenting the images the way the tab had intended. I've done several complete re-installs and the remainder of the program seems to be working, except for the Manage tab. I can see the images displayed in the tray portion of the window and the highlighted image name shows above the large preview window, however there is no image in the preview window.
The area becomes populated with images if I switch to the Thumbnail view, but the small preview window palette is blank. If, while in the Preview mode if I click on one of the effects, the effect is created in the tray. Another thing that I've noticed is if I use the Magnifier tool in the empty area (where the preview should be) I can actually see the magnified image in the tool.
Paint Shop Pro :: Manage Tab Preview Window Incorrectly Displaying
May 27, 2013I am using Paint Shop Pro X5 Ultimate.The Preview Window of the Manage Tab seemed to be displaying photos oddly - the photo wasn't filling the preview window (it was leaving an area around the bottom and right-hand side of the photo). At first I thought it was just the zoom setting, so I zoomed in. However, I have now used several features of the software that seem to show that the Preview Window (only on the Manage Tab) is incorrectly displaying the preview.
The problem became further evident when I used the Find People feature of Paint Shop Pro to locate the faces and tag several people, however the position of the tags are as if the Preview Window is filled by the photo. I have attached a screenshot that shows that the tag for the person in the bottom right-hand corner of the photo has her tag positioned off the photo (outside of the border of the photo) to the bottom and right of the photo even though it was automatically placed by the software. The position of the tags for the people in the photo are all offset slightly to the right and down and would be correct only if the photo was displaying correctly in the Preview Window.
I have tested uploading the photos to Facebook and the tags appear correctly once on Facebook. If I manually tag the faces as they appear on the Preview Window, the tags are incorrectly placed once the photo has been uploaded to Facebook (they appear up and to the left of where the face is positioned in the photo.
I have tried resetting the preferences and turning off some display features of Microsoft Windows, but I have seen to changes in the Preview Window.
Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?) The example photo was taken in .jpg format using a Nikon D3100 and 18-200mm Nikon DX lens, though this affects my entire photo collection taken on several different cameras and in several different formats (including RAW).
What devices are involved and their mode of connection? The files were transferred directly from the camera to the computer using a USB cable. Project Properties:I was using the Manage tab to sort photos and tag people using the Find People feature and also tried manually tagging faces.

Feb 18, 2012Whenever I go from Edit to Adjust (or Manage) the photo disappears. I can retrieve it if I go to open. I assume that the photo should show up when I go from Edit to Adjust or Manage.

Dec 28, 2011I don't know if it is obvious but I couldn't see this shortcut in the Paintshop X4 User Guide. So, I am sharing:
By pressing "shift + a" will make "manage/adjust/edit" tabs disappear. To show the tabs, it is just necessary to press "shift + a" again. It will give more workspace. This feature just works when you are in "edit" tab. In the other tabs none happens.
Paint Shop Pro :: Unable To Open Pictures When Switch From Edit To Manage
Sep 8, 2011I want to work with more then one picture at the same time and I want to be able to open more pictures during my work. With version X3 I could switch between Manager and Edit to open more pictures. Now the program closes all opened pictures if I switch from "Edit" to "Manage". Is that as it should work now?
How can I open the browser inside the Edit area? I could not find a function or Icon to do that. I just found the possibility to use the function 'Dual Monitor'.
If I select the function 'Dual-Monitor' the program changes my selected setting (Thumbnail Mode) to Preview Mode and I cannot change it anymore. Is that as it should be or is it a bug? I want to work with Thumbnail mode and not with Preview Mode.
I have Dual-Monitor switched o and restart the program. Now the two tasks are not opened on my two screens. I currently see the Edit screen and cannot switch to the Manager. Even with the task manager I cannot switch to the Manager of PSP. When I closed the program after switching on Dual-Monitor I had both tasks on different screens and so I would have expected to get it with the next start of the program.
If I open more then one picture I get a task in the taskbar for each opened picture. That seem to be very strange for me. I do not have more then one task of the program. I have several opened pictures in own windows (not tabbed) in one program.
Paint Shop Pro :: Cannot See Preview Images In Manage / Adjust Or Edit Modes
Feb 5, 2013I purchased PSP 5 and uninstalled PSP 4. After installation, I am unable to see any image previews in manage, adjust or edit mode. I have installed the service pack updates with no change in this absent function. Neither the main window nor the organizer palette will display any jpg image previews. I CAN go manually to a specific file and open the image and edit it at will, but I cannot see any previews of any images in the main or organizer palette. how to get the program to display image previews. I never had this problem before in any of the previous PSP versions. I have also uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the program to no avail.

Jul 8, 2012PSP X4 opens in the Edit page. When I select the "Manage" tab, the program freezes and I need to use the Task Manager to shut the program down.
I contacted Corel and they told me to reinstall the program. I have done so but the problem still persists. I have the service pack 2 installed.

Paint Shop Pro :: Info Pallet In MANAGE Mode
Feb 2, 2012The first comment is when starting X4, viewing MANAGE tab and mousing over INFO pallet which is in auto-rollup mode on the upper right margin, Info opens to the General tab. It would be best for me to see the EXIF data as default. Maybe X4 could remember what Info tab is/was displayed?
Secondly, my Canon PowerShot SX230 has GPS tagging capability, and I'm not seeing GPS coordinates in ANY of the Info tabs. I think this info is necessary and is one of the reasons I bought the camera. Corel could include HYPERLINK capabilities in the Info space someday. See attached view of Canon Map Utility. How about an EXPORT to Google Earth function with mapping data and photo attachment?
Paint Shop Pro :: X5 - Manage Files On Hard Drive
Mar 17, 2013I have just installed PSP X5.
Problem 1. When I open the program and go to Manage, the files on my hard drive are listed. When I click on one of the folders the program stops responding and I must end it with Task Manager.
Problem 2. None of the files on my external hard drives are listed. When I add thaose folders to the Navigation window the message "No files found" appears in the Organizer.
When I double click on a file in Windows Explorer it opens in PSP as it should. The program is useless as it is. How to proceed?
I have reinstalled 2X
I have deleted all temp files.
I have lots of space on my hard drive

Paint Shop Pro :: Manage Full Preview Color
Dec 28, 2011Noticed this when going through my photos tonight. When using the full screen preview in the Manage workspace, a photo will become more magenta after every pass.
Duplicate this by:
1. Double click on an image in the manage workspace to bring up the full screen preview. Take note of the colors.
2. Press the right arrow on your keyboard to advance to the next image.
3. Press the left arrow on the keyboard to return to the original image. Examine the colors...for me it is slightly more magenta. To make this change more obvious switch back and forth between the original and 2nd image. For me, the images become extremely magenta.
I'll include 2 images of one photo....the only difference being that the "magenta" one has gone through the process above 6 times.

Paint Shop Pro :: Manage Tab Preview Quit Working
Jun 7, 2013PSPX5 on a Win7 machine.I've been using this program a long time. Been using this setup for almost a year. Suddenly, the "preview" pane of the the "manage" tab has just quit working. It's whited out. I click on a thumbnail and the image info shows on the side pane, but the main frame just remains white. I've tried restarting the machine, to no avail. I can try uninstalling and reinstalling, but would rather not.

Apr 16, 2013I've downloaded new jpg picture files twice over the last 2 months. When I open PSPro X5 in MANAGE mode the new file folders names show on the folder tree but no picture files show in the Organizer photo tray when the folder is selected. Folders on tree before the 2 latest display pictures okay. I have no ability to select photos to edit from the MANAGE mode in those latest folders. Folders and photos appear normally in EXPLORER.

Feb 3, 2012If I work in Edit mode all the time I can open as many pictures as I like from the Organizer and have them all open at the same time. If I return to the Organizer and open another image, the ones already open are not affected. However if I go to the Manager tab (which only seems to be the Organizer on a separate page) to select an image I have to close any and all items already open in the editor. Surely this cannot be intended behaviour. In X3 it was possible to open images in the Organizer which was on a separate page and then return to it and open others without the original ones closing so why can't we do this in X4? The Manager does allow multiple images to be selected and opened at the same time but these are still closed if at any time you return to the Manager.
Update: I have now read a few posts about this problem and indeed it is not possible to switch between Edit and Manage modes without closing any images you have open for editing. The general feeling seems to be that this is not a problem as the Organizer (File manager) is available in Edit mode anyway so there is no need to go to the Manage tab. However I would disagree with this as some of my folders contain large numbers of images and it is much easier to browse through them using Manager in thumbnail mode as you can see far more images at once than with the Organizer in Edit mode. Also I find that Organizer gets in the way in Edit mode and would much prefer to switch back and forth to the Manager as was possible in X3.
Even if this problem does not affect everyone it is still difficult to understand why Corel would insist that images in the Editor are closed before switching to Manage mode. I cannot personally think of one reason why this would be preferable. Additionally the Organizer in Edit mode does not appear to have any way of resizing the thumbnails to optimize the number viewable at any one time.

Aug 11, 2012I have PSP x4 and recently I am getting no images found. The folder shows up in PSP but when I click on it, it says no images found. It is happening on all my recent downloaded images and a few random folders from a while back. It also is stuck on updating cache settings for about 3 minutes when I am opening the program, it started doing this and the folder issue at the same time.

I have deleted these folders manually and they are recreated each time PSP launches. I have changed the settings in File -> Preferences -> File Locations to remove references to these folder locations, and then tried deleting them, but they are recreated again on load. how to remove them? They are littering my network drive...

Aug 21, 2013Since My Documents is where I put all my *useful* files/folders, I like to keep it clean and organized. I don't want it cluttered up with folders that programs are using to store "work" files, as is the case with PSP. I went to preferences and laboriously changed ALL File Locations to the user/my-name/appdata/...etc. area. But when I saved, exited and reloaded PSP, those folders were created again. Checking the File Locations in preferences again showed that the appdata ones I had put in were still the top (primary) folder option, but the ones directing the files to "documents" had been created again as the third entry in each category.
How can I keep these folders/files OUT of My Documents?

I just installed the PSP X4 14.1.05 When I open an image in the "edit" area and have the move tool chosen the image goes to "Fit image to Window" and both "Fit window to image" and "Fit Image and Window to Screen" are grayed out. I have tried the preferences and all else I can think of but can't get the window to fit to the image as it always has so I can be viewing several images at a time and working with them. I did try reinstalling. This is a Vista machine.

Nov 4, 2013I have used PSP since version 2, so have been at it for awhile. Just upgraded to 6, as I was using version 4.
The problem I have is when I am in the edit area, and have a photo on the screen I use my mouse wheel to enlarge or shrink depending on my needs. The old version the windows box around image would also resize with image. I have attached a few images. I normal could fix this in the settings, but for some reason the window will not follow the image size as I enlarge or shrink? It does when I actually resize image, but I need this to do that when I am just using mouse wheel to make bigger or smaller on my screen.

More details...In my previous version of PSP, when working on a photo, the tab at the top for the photo had the following options: Minimize ( _ ), Maximize ( [ ] ) and Close ( X ), similar to the options found in the upper right corner of most windows.
However, in X5, the picture window/photo tab only has the Close ( X ) option and no Minimize ( _ ) or Maximize ( X ) option.What am I missing or am I just daft?
I found being able to minimize multiple photos in the same window useful when pasting/cloming one image over another.Or, if I have multiple, yet very similar images, determining which is best without having to tab back and forth.

Feb 9, 2013I am not sure how this happened, but using PSPX3, when i need a new layer, the dialogue window is way to the top. The values and all are accessible but when i am doing live presentations or recording tutorials, this is an annoyance. It is so high that i cannot grab the top of the window and pull it down. It is only for that one dialogue window and only for that one PSP version.
I tried resetting the workspace to default, i tried reloading an old workspace, but that one stubborn dialogue window is still there on top.
I tried changing the screen resolution temporarily to see if i could "grab it" to move it back down, but it still is "ungrabbable".

If you place your cursor over a thumbnail in the organizer thumbnail, a small window pops up with file name, ISO, shutter speed, etc.
Is there a way to change the data that appears in this popup window? Or, is there a way that info can be added to the file name that appears below the thumbnail?
I'm specifically looking to add the file dimensions in pixels. Currently, in edit mode, the only way is to open each image and click on INFO.
