When I bring up n image file from a folder and after I work on it I would like to save in another folder other than from the original download file which is the only choice I seem to get.
Is there way to designate a "default" folder for saving other than having to continually search for the folder I wish to save to?
I have an image file 1779 x 2685 96 dpi that I want to take to Staples and get a 24" x 36" poster made out of it. How can I change the original image file using PaintShop Pro 5X so that the ppi meets the Staples requirement which is at least 180 ppi? and do I need to change the size of my image file to fit my specific poster size properly without losing any quality of the original computer image file?

When opening my unedited picture in Irfanview I can read a long list of information under "EXIF", but as soon when I open the photo in Paintshop and save it a great part of the original EXIF information is "gone" and replaced by a very brief survey, including Paintshop information.
What can I do to preserve the original EXIF information?
When I got X3 I checked out the photo Organiser hoping it would be an all in one image solution for me. It would not recognise tags I had added in Win Photo Gallery and because I had heaps of pics I decided to stick with Photo Gallery. That leaves me with another problem with ratings though. If I have a star rating on a file in Photo Gallery and open the file in PSPPX3 the rating disappears once I save the file again - even if I have made no alterations. Frustrating - I have to remember to re-rate any files I process. The rating is preserved in the PSP Organiser but has gone from Photo Gallery.
It is also interesting that whereas tags added in PSPPX3 are recognised in Photo Gallery, the converse is not the case.
I don't mind not using PSP Organiser, I bought the program for the editor, but I wish PSP would not interfere with the things other organisers are using. I presume it is part of the EXIF data.
I am an freelance designer. I want original files of some designs which are posted in gallery. Is it possible to get the original files.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIsn't writing metadata to the XMP space of a file (jpeg or dng) altering the file? I assumed that non-destructive meant not changing the original file in any way, and this rewrites the file and thus changes the modification date. And if the Develop settings are included, then doesn't that confuse things as to which version will be displayed by an application that opens it? Do I need to store the original somewhere else? Or am I misunderstanding how this all works?
View 15 Replies View RelatedAfter saving a file as, say, an 8x10 @ 240 resolution, I want to save the image as a 4x5 @72 resolution in a different file that I can give to someone on a CD. However, the new file seems to retain the 240 resolution at a dramatically reduced size so the CD gets a too-small image (and the recipient doesn't have the software to gross it back up to a 4x5).
I assume this has something to do with cache, which I've tried purging generally and also for the individual file. I have CS6 on a Mac Pro with ample disk space and auxiliary drives to store old files, also with plenty of spare space.
I noticed, that in X4 my file ( in which I'm working) is lost, if I open a new file from the organizer.
In older versions, I could have a lot of pictures on my screen and switch between them.
Is this a "bug" in X4, or is there a way to put this feature back like X2.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI found this error a bit strange, my colleague it trying to save a file and this error keeps on coming out (see attachments). When we try to save it, it only saves as a temp file. When we try to open up the temp file and try to save it, it still doesn't allow us to do. Also, when we cancel the save, the original file will be gone and he will lost all of his data. Below are the specs of the computer and version of the AutoCAD.
Computer: DELL Precision T5500
OS: Windows 7 Ult
AutoCAD Version: 2011
Also, we're using ProSteel Series 3 as well. We tried saving the file using ProSteel and just AutoCAD but it didn't do the trick. I've tried some options (listed below) that might get it to work but still no luck.
1. Restart the computer.
2. Repair / Reinstall AutoCAD.
3. Give permission to the folder (read from the forum).
Whenever I tell LR to edit a photo in PS (CS6), I get back a TIFF file that is 10X larger than the orginal RAW file, and I ultimetly delete it to save space (after first converting it to a jpeg). Why doesn't PS do LR style non-destructrive editing, i.e., why not simply return a record of the edits made in a format compatible with LR?
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust installed PSP X6 on windows 8 64 bit. When in file explorer, I click on pspimage file and it opens in X6 64 bit. I want it to open in 32 bit. I did the right click Open With/Choose default program trick to no avail. I also did the File/Preferences/File Format associations and selected PSP X6 32-bit but it still opens it in the 64 bit version.
Do I need to uninstall PSP and install it again minus the 64 bit version to get it to work? I don't use the 64 bit version much cause my plugins are 32 bit.
Why is it when I move the X4 files (brushes, picture tubes, etc) to another location and even enter that information in the program that the program moves everything BACK into My Documents folder when I restart the program the next time?
The My Documents folder is for MY DOCUMENTS, not brushes, picture tubes, scripts, maps, gradients and all this other crap.
Why I can't stop this program from inserting folders in My Documents and filling it up with crap. I don't want it there.
I have a picture, I select save and chose png No what what name i pick PSP tells me "The file name is not valid" If i chose to save as TIF it saves right away. If I copy a png file in the directory and click on the file, and then click on that file in the save as dialog, PSP asks me if i want to overwrite, if i say yes then it saves the file: From then on i can save without getting this error message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm baffled. I do 99.9% of my photo work in Lightroom and then export to jpg. On the rare occasion when I need to remove something from a photo (a fly or leash), I have been using PSP version 9 because I already have it.
However, this morning I opened an 8 Mb jpgs file, did my editing and just saved it (no save as or resizing), and now the file is only 2 Mb.

I use PSP x3 and I have a 3mb photo. When I edit and crop the photo, I then "save as". When I go back and ck the photo properties of the photo I saved after editing it has saved it at only 131kb. When I tried to get a large print developed, I was told the resolution was too low and the picture was pixelated. How do I save the edited photo and keep it at 3mb?

I have PaintShop Photo Pro X3 running on Windows 7 x64. I have created artwork for an ad that I am purchasing in a trade publication. The contact person at the magazine tells me that they need my artwork in CMYK format and in a file type of eps. They need the CMYK format in one file as opposed to being broken out into separate channels. They are using Quark software. How I can get my artwork into the format that Quark needs?
