I just installed the X4 trial. I still have X3U installed but not open. I keep the layer palette open all the time.
I open an existing image and the current layers are displayed correctly. I open another image and it looks fine too. I then copy the 2nd image or a layer from the 2nd image and paste it as a new layer onto the first image. No matter which image is active, the layer palette continues to show the layers from the 2nd image until I close it. At that point there are no layers displayed in the layer palette at all; not even the background. If I do a paste as new image or even just create a new image, there is nothing in the layer palette then either. It doesn't change if I close and reopen the layer palette. The only way I have found to get the layers to display is to click on something outside of PSP X4 such as an open browser screen and then go back to PSP X4.
i have a gadget on my windows 7 desktop now i changed the background to transparent using paint.net, latest version.for some reason some of the colors (/text and icons) became a sort of rosa color
1. open the picture in paint.net
2. changed in the layerproperties the opacity from 255 to 122
I just installed PSP X5 Ultimate (full install). After it completed it installed an update. All appeared to go fine. I opened the program and went to EDIT. I am familiar with PSP as I have used a number versions up to X2. The first thing I tried to do was crop a photo. The crop tool buttons are not correct. The "Apply", "Crop as new image" and so on under the crop area window are not correct. I see a square of colors. I see the same thing on the main tool bar for the "Copy Special" function and the "Share" button. There could be more that I have not discovered yet. I rebooted and tried again, but get the same thing. Also, the button icons look different each time I load.
Shortly after I loaded PSP X5 on my computer, the picture icons on the buttons in the docking workspace changed and I don't know why. These are the icons at the top and bottom of the Docking area where I work with Layers and also have several other items docked.
I am using PSP X5 version 15.2.0.12
Across the top are the icons for " Edit Selection, Show/Hide Layer effects, Link/Unlink, Lock/Unlock, and Layer Styles".
While working with some photos taken this summer, I noticed a strange issue where Organizer is sorting pictures by Date (using Date Created/Oldest) and showing a few pictures at the top under the correct date section (for example July 19th 2011), but then breaks to a new date section indicating July 28th 2011, in which the rest of the pictures in the folder are displaying - even though these pictures are still all from July 19th.
I've attached a link to a screenshot to make it clearer to understand: [URL]
I am testing PSP X6 (I have all versions since V7) and now I get wrong files with the PNG Optimization. This functions used to write files with the extension png but now it writes png files with the extension pspimage. If you try to open such a file you will get error messages.
PSP seems to be back with version X6 with again destroyed old functions. It seems so as if will not buy the update this time. With each new version I get new bugs in old functions.
I use PSP X3 for web image editing and am sometimes sent jpeg files which are in CMYK format. Unfortunately PSP does not display the colours in these files correctly. Yellow will display as brown, pale blue as turquoise and pink as purple for example.
If I open the same file in almost any other programme, including the humble "Paint", the colours display fine and my workaround up until now has been to open in another programme, copy the picture to the clip board and then paste it into PSP as a new image. The colours are then fine but it greatly increases my work time, especially when I have many images to process.
Surely there must be a way to get these images to display correctly. It has nothing to do with monitor or gamma adjustment otherwise they would display incorrectly in all other programmes also.
Maybe it is a bug or just something that Corel have overlooked. RGB jpegs display fine, the problem only occurs with CMYK images.
The picture I've attached to this post is 180 dpi. However, Gimp says the ppi of the image is 300 (Gimp also used this information display the printed size, so it should be "dpi", but this is not my problem).
I fully understand the difference between dpi and ppi.My question is: From where is this information coming from?
My default image resolution in Gimp is 96 ppi (under Preferences > Default image > Advanced option).
In the side and front view, the references are displayed in the wrong place on the screen. It is fine on the perspective view, but not side or front. The outline if I select the image is in the right place, but the image is not.
I have a picture, and I'm putting a circle around it on that picture I want to write Merry Christmas. I thought it would be cute to have the letters alternate between red and green, so the "M" would be red , then the "e" would be green and so on. I also thought this would be easy, but it's not,
First I tried 2 layers the following way. Layer 1 had M r y h i t a and layer 2 had e r C r s m s with layer 1 being red and layer 2 being green, that didn't work.
Now I have a a top layer of "M" in red and the second layer "Me" in green, and it works as long as long as I use a fixed font this seems to work, but I'm wondering if there is an easier way.
Here's my problem. When people upload pics to my website or when they email them to me, I open them (in Internet Explorer) and they are fine. I then save them and open them in PSP 9 to work on. Problem is, for the past month or so, when I open the images in PSP 9, they are dark, muddy, very flat, and lacking in vibrancy. They are very different from what I see in IE.
When I open them in Corel X3 or in Photoshop, they are just fine, so it must be something in PSP9. Could I have unwittingly changed some setting in PSP 9?
You can see in the attached screen cap that colors 1-9 appear as white on my screen and that colors 10-22 are not correct either. This is only occuring in one specific drawing. Is there a preference that I switched somewhere that would make this happen? I have double checked that everything is ByLayer or ByColor that I can think of. If I insert this color chart into other drawings it looks fine. using C3D 2012.
I would just restart my drawing, however it is the new company template file that I have invested many hours into and would really like to be able to keep working with it and not start over. Or is there a good way to import and overwrite all the Prospector settings into a blank drawing?

Is there an easy way to simply reverse colors in a two color jpg? It is an existing jpg, not one I originally created but have been given permission to use.
How to adjust the user interface color (dark to light)? I tried used changing the color working space colors but it didn't seem to make a difference. dark interface hard to read.
I have recently purchased a Pentax K-5 ii and am taking RAW images. Originally I took DNG images but when I saw that the new service pack issued on 31st January gave new support to Pentax K-5 ii RAW format, I thought I would record in PEF.
I did this but find that the images suffer a strange color reversal: Red is recorded as Blue; Green and Yellow as Cyan; Blue as Brown and Brown as Magenta. The images appear in their correct colors in other software and on the monitor in the camera.
I recently started having this problem with the material palette changing colors back to what I had previously used. I am using windows 8 operating system 64 bit, and PSPX5. I will be working on something and if I change tools then my colors will change.
I am trying to save a red and white and black logo to an eps file to use with a vinyl cutter but when it saves it changes it to a greyscale picture and the red color is removed. I tried resetting to factory settings and that didn't work.
I just bought a Canon Pixma ip4920 printer, and I use Paint Shop Pro X4 - the problem i'm having is that what I see on scrren and what I get when printing a picture are totally different. My computer is a Dell Inspiron laptop. How to calibrating the colors to match?
I'm having a bit of trouble with Photoshop. Colors are displayed differently, than in other programs (Paint, Firefox etc...), which makes it impossible for me to design anything. I tried restoring my settings by holding Ctrl + Alt + Shift on start up and it's still the same. I also tried re-installing Photoshop.
In the picture is a screen capture, where you can see a file which is opened in both Photoshop CS2 and the Windows Image Viewer. The colors appear very different (it's the same file). In any other viewer (web browsers, for example) it appears as it does in the Windows Viewer.
I'm having problems with PS showing red and purple as blue. The RAW's are oversaturated with blue and nothing I do can reverse the colours. Both camera, PS and monitor is set to aRGB and the RAW files is showed correctly in the Windows folder. both the highlight and shadow warning are turned off!
After changing picture to black and white or any other color change the picture will print some of the original colors especially greens and tans. This occurs when changing a jpg file or using layers. It did not happen in CS2 using the same Epson printer and the same printer settings.
The colors of my cr2 files are wrong in the developement part of Lightroom. Dark pixel are turnes into blue ones, bright/white pixels are turned into red ones.
The problem does not occur if I only watch the pictures in the libary mode
