Paint.NET :: How To Use Colour Function In Effects To Tint
Dec 5, 2011I went to use the 'colour' function in 'effects' to tint something and it seems to have gone!!!
Is this just on my computer, or has it been removed, or moved?

I use EdHarvey's colour tint tool and it changes colour of the whole image, I'm looking for something similar but it only changes selected colour, so that the image is left with mutiple colour scheme rather than just one, any addon that can do this?
From this example, you can see the figure on the right is in a brownish colour scheme, what tool can I use in order to make it's colour scheme blue like the figure on the left?
I rrecently installed CS5 In Design in Windows 7. How do I get the tint function to work?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI use After Effects CS5 for Mac (Version 10.0.458) and I am needing to add some stability to a 4 minute clip that is essentially an Evil Dead ripoff where we see the POV of the evil 'force' that is travelling through a wooded area, close to the ground. I shot this on a HV20, mounted on a mono-pod, and basically walked through the woods keeping the shot as steady as possible....still, it's not that steady. I am needing to speed this up by about 15X and without stabilizing it, it looks absolutely horrible, quite un-useable. I know how to use the stabilize function is CS5 but that is only when I have a single point to use as reference to stabilize all other movement. This footage is constantly moving and so I have absolutely not idea how stabilizing this would work.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there an easy way to do color tints on a photo in PhotoPAINT? And by that I don't mean just correcting the tint, I mean converting a regular photo into one that has a single color tint (e.g., yellow, red, etc.). I've tried graying it out and then adding a transparent color layer over it, but I'm not getting the result I'm looking for.
Also, while I'm at it, are there any (current) books out that cover PhotoPAINT in depth? I know that the official DRAW book has a section on it, but it's pretty basic.
I'm new to After Effects and am looking for a spefic effect for a video I am making.

I just created a new account to make visible that I write the following description not as member of the Corel support team "Simone Corel UK", but as private user of PSPX4.
However, the reason for writing about this were indeed requests by users who were wondering about the Resize function and how it works.
I don't mean the "72" bug (you know that it looks like PSPX4 would open and save all images only with 72dpi), which has been addressed to the DevTeam and which will be solved.
Everything I'm writing now, is the private person Simone.
I discovered the Crop tool in PSP X2 about 2 years ago. I clicked by chance on the "Maintain aspect ratio" and realised that it fits perfectly my work flow. Sometimes, I only need a section of an image. I enter my final size, I tick "Maintain aspect ration" in Property tool bar, then I expand the Crop tool to that area I want to cut and double-click. When I resize now my image, it has exactly the final size that I need.
There's mention of a "tool presets" function. e.g. you set up your box tool just so (colors, alpha blend, thickness etc) and could then save this as "my blue box #2" etc to be recalled later instead of a ton of clicks to set it up the way you want. Is this possible to do somehow & I just missed it? are there any plugins or something that could enable a feature like this?

I know it's saving to the "clipboard" because I can get the text to show up on a Microsoft Word Document, but not the various colors. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have polygon object that I created. I initially started with a cube and then extruded faces until I got the final shape I wanted, which is a tree.
I've been trying to paint some paint effects on the tree but when I make is paintable and try to paint on it I get problems. I paint on the surface and everything looks fine. As soon as release the mouse button my curve and paint effect jump to the base of the tree. No matter where I paint on the tree.
A small feature I have been using for years, and find very useful, was changed in X6 Update 3. Using the Erase with the ALT key use to erase in a straight line from one point to another point. Now after installing Update 3 this key combination is used to interactively adjust transparency (a new feature according to the release notes).
Is the point-to-point erase feature gone or can I somehow adjust settings to get it back? Or is there now another key used for this?
Using CorelDraw Suite X6 with Update 3 on Windows 7 64bit.
I've clicked link on two layers and set 'Link Set' to 1 on both. I want to make a selection, and move what is in it. But with the contents from two or more layers, not just one. The move tool seems to always move the background layer, although it's locked. What am I missing. I've been looking for this basic feature for a long time. How does the link layers function work?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a very simple image, 32-bit CMYK which is just black & white. I want to change all the black to Cyan. Should be easy, I just use rectangle mask to mark out the area I want then go to "Adjust->Replace Colors..." and it comes up with a dialog. So far so good.
I use the color picker to select black as the source I want to change, then I choose the color to change to, either with color picker or manually mixing it to pure Cyan. The colour does change, to something blue-ish or cyan-ish, but not what I specified. Same deal if I try with Magenta. It's close, but not quite.
If I just fill with Cyan, it does indeed come out the right color.
Is there a way to make the Text entry function like in PSPX2 and X3 where you fill in the box with the text and arrange it before it applies it? I now have X6 Ultimate, just getting use to some of the changes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there some sort of restriction in Paint.NET that restricts the folks creating plugins from permitting the plugins to interact or function directly on the canvas/layer?
For instance the smudge and liquify (and others) open another window where you make your adjustments. The reason why I ask is this results in doing some things blindly because you can't see the rest of the canvas. I think some of these plugins will be so much more effective (especially with the recent addition of grid warping) if you can do some of these things on the canvas so you can shape images/textures to follow contours, but this is nearly impossible without doing so with several blind attempts.
i have 2 questions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that the Gradient Tool won't show up when inside a Live Paint group, which makes it difficult to edit gradients. Is it supposed to be like this?
It is still possible to edit the gradient using the Gradient Panel, but I prefer to use the Gradient Tool instead because of it's direct approach.
Also, when selecting multiple areas within a Live Paint group to fill with a gradient, I don't seem to be able to Alt+Drag with the Gradient Tool in order to fill each selection with it's own gradient. It always ends up with one gradient being applied across all of the selections.
When i am using layer masks in elements 9 I can conceal paint with a black brush, but when I want to go back over something to reveal (white brush) nothing happens. I have the layer mask selected as active and it works perfectly fine in reverse (black).
View 1 Replies View RelatedOK so I may be a bit slow, but! I've installed PSPx6. Setup my plugins etc. Even got my workspace to load and work! Only thing now that is bugging me is the background colour in the Edit window. I use the dark grey. In x5 the background to a photo in Edit mode matched the dark grey of the UI. Now in x6 it seems I'm stuck with the dark grey UI and a light grey background.
Am I missing something some where or is this option gone?
Apart from that x6 loads in 5-6 seconds. Good. Everything else 'seems' to be faster. (I'm using 64bit). BUT Adjustment layers are still slow
I have a picture of a shovel of which I want to change the red colour to blue.
What is the simpliest way to do this in Paint.NET?
I have tried many things things, but I get a lot of trouble with shadows and sun shine areas.

I was watching a video on youtube when a came upon a brush set called lens flares, since I already had the Custom Brushes Mini plug-in, I was amazed by the lens flares. So then I went to Brusheezy(Dot)com and searched lens flares, there was a brush pack that was the lens flares I was looking for, so I did the process so I could use them, but then when I went to use the magic wand tool, and delete the black colour for it to be transperent, not all the black was gone, I tried changing the tolerance to remove more black, but it wouldn't budge.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a question about the picture below, which is a cycling stage profile:
As you can see, the 3D background color reflects slope. Steeper parts are a darker kind of grey than the flat parts.
I would like to create profiles of my own in the same style, with the slope of a portion reflected in its color, so I was wondering if there is a feature in paint.net that allows me to change the color of a line according to its slope. Is it possible to draw a line for the mountains etc. in a single color, and then use some kind of effect or plugin to make the rising sections darker and the flat parts lighter?
I transcribe church registers, due to the poor copies I need to change the background colour as this improves the writing for me to read and transcribe correctly. When I used PSP8 which I am unable to use now I was able to change the colour by using the dropper.
