View 4 RepliesI'm, trying to make an animated gif from a png image. I managed to do it, but there's a small problem... when I convert the png to gif (to make the animated gif afterwards) the image gets a strange white border around the edges. I tried to play with the Dithering and Tansparency threshold, but to no avail.

How can I avoid this with Paint.NET?
I am an artist doing digital paintings on Photoshop CS3. I drew an outline of my drawing in one shade of blue and realized the color profile was in sRGB.
I have now converted the psd document to color profile Adobe 1998.
When I start to put color in, underneath the blue outline layer -will the colors be of Adobe 1998 quality? (I plan to do gradients/blend colors and eventually print my work out. I have heard the colors can look choppy when done on sRGB mode) .
I have got a number of photoshop files which i cannot use because i dont have Photoshop. So i downloaded the trail version of Photoshop (MacOSX) to convert them to something that i can use with other programs. What file format can i export them to?
I need a format that keeps all the information about the layers and all the other stuff - So i guess this is called workable file. What format does exist in Photoshop so that i can export it for later use with any other (means NON-Adobe) programm? URL....
All the JPEG images I have converted from cr2 are grainy. I am converting them by Image Processor.

I've used every version of PSP since version 4 waaay back when and I'm now using X4. I do like it, however I still have preset shapes in .jsl format that I'd like to use in this new version.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOK...so when I copy the desired cells form the excell worksheet and paste to paintnet, it works fine...the entire range of cells copied show up in the paste, but...if you first eliminate the gridlines in excell before copying the range of cells, the paste into Painnet only shows one section/quadrant of the excel range of cells which I copied. I don't want the gridlines showing in the final .png file...I know this must be possible...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have simple outline drawings - like stars or paisleys - that I scan into PhotoPaint X5. So, to turn it into a vector drawing, I manually fill the outline drawing with the paintbrush, convert it to 1 bit, import it into CorelDraw, use the Trace Bitmap - outline trace - clip art, then do a hairline outline and remove the fill. I end up with a hairline outline of the original object that I can send to my laser. The objects must remain the same size as the original drawing.
Here's why I do some of what I outlined above. First, I manually fill the drawing because if I try to do the trace bitmap in CorelDraw X5 using the outline trace, it traces both the inside and the outside of the original line drawing because the line is thick. If I try the Trace Bitmap and select Centerline Trace, I the result is a jaggy line which won't work.
I think what I need most is a way to fill the object automatically rather than paint the inside of it. I thought I could just select the object in PhotoPaint and click on the fill, but it seems that the "object" is the outline drawing plus the background, so the fill ends up being the whole "object" including the background. I can Lasso the outline drawing and move it around on the background, but can't figure out how to do much else.
I am one of the people who found that PSP X6 has problems converting embedded color spaces.
After some difficulties I eventually got a case number which meant that I could get some support. I supplied a problem description and sample files to first level support. This is the reply that I received:
The file was saved as 16 bit TIFF with ProPhoto as the color space, this one is a big factor because PaintShop Pro (X5 or X6) has its own color space and is only supporting RGB color space. It is normal for PaintShop Pro to convert your image to sRGB because that is the embedded color space. Also, I suggest you to contact ProPhoto to know what do they support or if they support PaintShop Pro.
Color shifting is normal due to the color space that is being used by a specific program (i.e. PaintShop Pro). Colors that are not within the range of RGB color space will be determined as imaginary colors.
Converting the standard RGB file to CYMK is a simple click, it looks the same on screen, but there is a huge color shift when it's printed. Everything is much more blue and with more contrast. I've worked with the different color models trying to adjust my image to get it more close to the original, but it's not going so well.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a card, using a standard layout size of 4.25 x 8.25. I have the resolution set to 300 PPI.
While adding layers, I am also adding in some images to the card for a newborn. The image res is 300 DPI, but once I open the image in PS, then pull it down into the new project, it auto commits to a 72 DPI. I can't for the life of me figure out why it is doing this.
I have tried going into the image>image size and changing it to 300 DPI, but even after I change it, when I go to the file information page, it tells me that the image is still set to 72 DPI.
I'm having trouble getting an image successfully into my vinyl cutting program. I open a black and white image into illustrator, I trace it, I paint a few more black lines that I need and then save it into svg or pdf. Once I import the image into my software it show all the brush strokes that I painted making it impossible to cut. Is there a way to make the image in illustrator all one image once painting it and making it decal cuttable?

I've made up a logo in PS. is there anyway i can covert it to a vector shape?
View 3 Replies View Relatednew to illustrator and im trying to convert a digitally generated pdf. into a vector format/file without the pixel data. I have drawn up a logo/font (in autocad as thats what i know) and made a pdf from it to send to a printing company that only deals in vector format. i can import the image and get a trace of it but the frames add radii to corners and im having trouble isolating the vector/trace result to make a seperate file from (to send off)
so, its there an easier way to get a vector file from my pdf image
I have a logo that I created for test purposes at a lower resolution. Is it possible to take the active selection of the logo and create a vector from it without having to manually trace over it with the pen tool or adobe illustrator (I do not own illustrator). If I could do this within Photoshop that would be my preference.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm doing an internship at school and need to convert alot of .tiff files and .dpf files into drawings. I also experimented with a program that converted the files from raster format into vector format. This is what I've found so far...
Able2Extract – Works very well when it does. Creates everything on 1 layer. Has options to use Autocad 2000 color palette or Autocad 2004 color palette. 2004 palette usual fails. Program works 50% of the time.
Aide PDF to DXF – Worked very well, once. Tried multiple floor plans and it came out chicken scratch.
AutoDWG VectorNow - Terrrrribllleeeeeee.
AlgoLab Raster 2 Vector – Miserable failure.
Any decent programs to convert these files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created a logo, and I'd like to use it in some PDF documents. I've tried several different methods for converting it into an image, but the image quality really degrades when I do. Maybe I'm expecting too much - since the vector image is essentially perfect - but it seems like there should be a way to come up with a decent looking image. Is there a "best practice" for this process?
