I discovered, with horror, that the catalog HAS CREATED VIRTUAL COPIES FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE 15,000+ photos in this catalog. I wanted to RELAUNCH and OPTIMIZE it, but the button is missing! All I see under GENERAL in Catalog Settings is the name and location of the catalog, date, size and HOW to backup.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've used Lightroom since the beginning but am having issues with LR4. One of the problems I am facing is that when I backup my LR database that it brings my entire system to a complete hault for over an hour. It seems to do that during the optimize catalog phase. I can't do anything else on my computer as my mouse and everything else freezes until the very slow backup completes. I didn't have this issue with any other version of LR. I first had this problem on my computer after upgrading my LR3. When I encountered this and other problems (mostly related to locking up or working very slow) I started with a fresh hard drive and re-installed windows and LR but still had the same problems.
I'm using Windows Vista 64, 8gb of RAM, 2.83 Ghz, a fast drive with loads of extra space, etc. I do have a large LR database (7gb) but I had that in LR3 as well.
I can't optimize my main catalog any more. LR5 sends the error message that I have to restart it in order to check the integrity of the catalog. It then restarts without problems, but I face the same error again when trying to optimize.
Importing the old catalog or a copy of it into a newly created one does not work at all, LR states that it can not created a temporary copy necessary for this. Changing directories or drives does not work either.
The catalog seems to work fine once I open it, but I can't check fpr its integrity,
I am using Lightroom 4.4 on a 2013 Macbook Air OS 10.8.4.
I cannot see the Switch enables auto sync on the Metadata sync button. Its currently visible on another machine a MacPro with Lightroom v4.3. I find this useful to be bale quickly enable and disable the syncing of metadata. Has this been dropped in v4.4 or have I missed a prefs setting somewhere?
I am running PSE-10 on Windows 7. Recently, I changed the preference to bypass the Welcome screen. Ever since, I am unable to relaunch PSE without rebooting. Also, I can't get back to the Welcome screen from the Home icon. I have already reinstalled PSE.

I have come to use it in anger for the first time to create a DVD of my friends wedding. Everything works OK until I use the "share and then create a disk" I get to the Preview stage (it previews great) and then there is a "Back" button but no "Next" button.
I downloaded the latest patch from Corel for this version but it made no difference.

I use to have before I dowloaded the english version of cs6, the spanish version, and it doesn't have that button either (I think) The question is, is there a problem with my version of cs6?
My AutoCAD Architecture 2011 program is missing the button to export to an earlier version of AutoCAD. I have seen this button on other computers at our office. I need to export some drawings to earlier versions without having to bind exrefs and do a 'save as' earlier version.
How I can get this button back? Does it have anything to do with DWG Trueview?Here are two screen shots, one with the button, and one without.
For no apparent reason the Render Button at the bottom of the view frame has disappeared. With RayTrace I just get a black screen. It was all working fine then suddenly the problem occurred.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the PC - I can render in MAX Design as normal.
I'm missing the "Thinking" button which I think it should be in the Particle Systems right under the PCloud button.In the tutorial it is there but I'm missing it while trying to work with the file

View 1 Replies View RelatedI loaded 2013 Civil 3D and I customized my Ribbon with Zoom Commands I use frequently; everything looked fine...I changed the Workspace to Planning & Analysis and cutomized my Ribbon to include the Zoom Commands but a Button Icon for ZOOM_TO_POINT came up with a cloud & question mark. I went to look for the Icon Image & I don't see it. I made the mistake of changing the Icon to another hoping I could change it back but it's not there. I went to the 2012 verison & the Button Icon is there...first icon listed. Where are the icons in 2012 so I can drag & drop image into 2013?
The icon has a point symbol with a magnifying glass. I've checked other computers and the same thing. Can't find the Image Icon for ZOOM_TO_POINT. It shows up when you load the software but if you want to edit it...it's not there in the CUI Button Icons.

If I go to the Planning & Analysis workspace, the images are visible, but in the custom workspace, all I get are clouds with a question mark.

My partner has just changed his laptop and now realises that PSE 9 won't give him the option of pre-selecting photos, due to the smaller screen. The laptop won't display at 800 res. The height of the screen is too small. He's annoyed because this problem will affect all users of PSE 9 who get a new laptop with a smaller height screen, which is most new laptops!! It ran perfect on the old Sony Vaio..... till the graphics card went seriously dead! Has this problem been resolved with PSE 10 or 11? If so, it might be worth upgrading to one of those.

Either I get results that have too long a download time or the quality is not good enough. I tried using different settings. I tried making image as small as possible. Also, I thought if it was a JPEG before changing settings it would work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've made a model I'm content with - editable poly, and have added a UVW Map modifier and Unwrap UVW and subsequently rendered the UVW, taken it into photoshop and done what I would like to it then brought it back in as a diffuse material - all worked fine.I'm going to be using the asset in a prototype game so want to decrease the number of triangles rendered. So to decrease the polygons I've added an Optimise modifier. This is great for decreasing the number of polygons, but unfortunately as it changes the underlying geometry, it appears is mucking up the UVW coordinates and my material is all over the place.
What is the correct process or technique to decrease the polygons and preserve the UVW map appearance on the object, which was set on the higher res version? I've tried changing the modifyer stack order but as the shape has a number of irregular surfaces, the unwrapped UVW in peel mode is a real mess and would be extremely difficult for me to texture with any consistency.
Trying to optimize an image to use on the web, I was able to scale down to the size I needed but it is to big of a file
