Lightroom :: Closed After Trying To Edit A Photo And Will Not Open Again?
May 20, 2012
My Lightroom 3 closed after editing a photo and will not open again. It says Lightroom is not working and Windows is looking for a solution. I am in a bind and need my Lightroom opened asap.
I own photo elements 6 (photo premiere 4). Photo elem. 6 takes forever to open photo in the edit mode. Why? I am using window 8. It was working ok. Now a problem. I uninstalled it reinstalled.
Everytime I open photoshop to edit a simple photo it crashes. Almost as soon as I press clone tool or any other tool it crashes. Its not my computer, or the space on my computer or my video drives. I was going to uninstall then re-install but I am scared because I have the CD but not my serial number.
using CorelDraw 5 with Parallels 7 on a MacBookPro to access Windows 7 and CorelDraw X5 -
Normally CorelDraw x5 will launch Photo Paint when you choose Edit Bitmap from Corel Draw. Then you can edit in photo paint and on save and close you are back in Corel Draw and able to continue there. However this is not the case for me with Parallels 7. It does not launch Photo Paint as expected.
I am trying to access the edit original (edit with) option to edit a photo that has not been edited yet. I right click and go through the edit menu and does not appear or is not available? Would I have to reopen it manual in photoshop or is there a way around this to access that setting? it sometimes does not appear on my already edited photos.
I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.
I have set up Lightroom 4.2 to edit my photo in Elements 10 as the external editor. When I try to do that, Elements opens but my photo is not copied into Elements and I have a blank screen.
When I select edit in CS5 my file goes straight to CS5 and my edit in the dialog box will not display. I have no way to oprn with a copy or etc with out the edit dialalog box. Iam using LR 4 latest version I must have changed some thing no realizing . Everthing was fine until a while ago.
All the NEF files that were recently imported are the ones that the dialog box will not show the TIF files the dialog box will show. When these files were ompoterted all the history does not show in the module just the import. Did I import wrong causing all the history not to show?
When I try to "edit in" in Lightroom 4, Photoshop Elements is always grayed out, though I have it on my computer. How can I get Lightroom to edit a photo in Photoshop Elements?
LR3.6 - can I save edit info for a raw photo so I can show someone on another computer? For example, I'm editing some photos and want to show someone on another computer by copying the photos onto a jump drive and bringing the drive to the other person's computer. They would then be able to open my photos in LR and see the edits I've made.
I am unable to open PSE 10 when I select "Edit In" with Lightroom 4. I have changed Preferences to PSE Editor. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE. I am using a MAC.
lightroom 3.6 windows 7. sometimes but not always, when I choose edit and lr creates a copy edit tiff, the new copy moves to the end of the filmstrip and sometimes it stays right with the original (which is what I want)
I recently built a new PC dedicated to my photo work.
i7 2600k, 16gb DDR 3 ripjaws, 128GB crucial m4 SSD, (2) x 1TB 7200 HDDs (mirrored), Sapphire Radeon HD 5570.The first month or so of use LR worked great. However, recently I have been getting several errors and oddities.
1) Randomly closes. I can restart it without a problem and pick back up where I left off. There are not warnings or signs that it is about to close.. it just does. 2) "Unexpected end of file". Unable to edit photo. Preview does show, however. I have never seen this error before on other machines. 3) Memory dumps. I assume this is related to LR3 as that is the only program I am actively using when it happens (Chome is always open as well, however) I will have the dump files examined to know for sure. 4) Something new that just started today. In the preview bar on the bottom, as I scroll through the photos I see the previews of other photos.. some photos from other folders I took weeks or months ago. When I hover over the image it changes to what it should be.1 with a photo from this particular shoot and one from one I did over a month ago. Everything I scroll back and forth (rapidly or not) as the previews load it loads the wrong files first, multiple times (around 8 or 9 in a row) and then they slowly change to what it should be.
I am not sure if I am properly describing this error but it is really weird. Also, this seems to only happen on the images off a CF card. I was borrowing a friends D200 as a 2nd body for a party. When I scroll through the images off my SD card I do not see the issue appear. When I get to the CF portion of the folder is when I see the problem..I just updated LR today but these issues occured prior to the update and still exist afterwards.
Do I need to do a fresh install of LR?What precautions do I need to take in doing so to insure my catalogue stays intact?
Is there a way to specify the resolution of the image opened in Photoshop when you use the "Open As Layers" option within the "Edit In" Menu like you can do for the "edit in Photoshop" option. For example in my preferences for the "edit in CS6" option if I set 300 as the resolution it opens as such, however if I try to open multiple images with the Open As Layers option they start with a resolution of 240.
Whenever I edit (a copy) of an image in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom 4.3 (Photo/Edit-In), after I save and close the image in CS6 the new psd image does not show in Lightroom. In order to see the image in Lightroom, I need to close Lightroom and then reopen Lightroom. It is almost like Lightroom needs to "refresh". Any solution that does not require me to close Lightroom? I have tried to use View/Sort by extension, filename, edit time, etc. with no effect.
Lightrrom 4.2 can't use the right click, "edit in" photoshop CS6. I have tried edit, preferences, and created a Preset and pointed it to the CS6 photoshop.exe... still a no-go.
When I edit a photo in Photoshop from Lightroom 4 and save it back to Lightroom, the photo ends up somewhere else in the folder than it's original location. This is a hassle as my folders can have hundreds of photos. Is there a setting that will place the file back to where it came from?
I want to open a photo in CS6 from LR5, but only Photoshop CC is on the list when I go to Photo>Edit in. I am unable to add CS6 to the list going through LR preferences in external editing.
LR 4.3 does not open the selected photo. It opens the PREVIOUSLY selected photo. What do you do when you select the adjustment tools, but only the plus cursor appears, meaning every click expands the image, no adjustments made. Or when I send an adjusted nef photo to PS as smart objet, but it looks different in PS? Or when I "pick"a photo but no flag appears?
When I crop a photo in LR5 or 4 and open it in PS cc, the photo is not opened. If I go back and reset the cropping, then the photo and all edits made are exported and visible in PS cc
That s happening in both LR4 and 5. FURTHERMORE; if the crop is vertical , from a horizontal èpicture, the photo is opened in PS BUT the crop not maintened i.e the original sized photo is shown.
I just got photoshop elements 11 and when i try to open a photo with lightroom (4) adjustments, lightroom makes a copy, but then it doesn't show up in Elements (11).
I need to edit several video frames in order to blur someone's face in the video and it would be useful to "enqueue" files. What I would like to obtain is that when I have edited, saved and closed image1, GIMP would automatically open image2 and so on.
